Walking the Ephesian Road brings you face to face with the heart of God. Thrill with Charlie, a 21st century believer, on his first visit to Ephesus as he is stirred by the echoed greatness of the city. Have your heart touched as Charlie's heart is with the love of Jesus. The opening chapters carry you along in the great sweep of the Ephesian story as the good news of Jesus arrives amid strong opposition in one of the first century's most magnificent cities. As your imagination is stirred by the drama that unfolds, in the later chapters you will be given a view into the truths that impassioned the heart of Paul and how he might have delivered them in Ephesus. Ultimately, the author uses the Scriptures as presented in Acts 18 and 19 along with the letter written to the Ephesians in 62 A.D. to shine light on who Jesus is. As you read, you will be drawn into the story of what happened and encouraged by the wonder of what God has done for us in Christ. These ancient truths will bring revelation, encouragement and life to readers at all levels of their Christian experience.
In this volume, I want to move us forward to consider the implications of a pastoral care church (community) model in Christian moral theology and the necessary conflict with specific elements of our modern culture. The foundation of our present cultural moral climate has a lot in common with similar fundamental questions that also burdened our ancestors: why do we suffer, and what does it mean? Certainly science and technology have come a long way, and we have many new tools in medicine to deal with suffering. However, the other side of that truth is the fact that for many with serious health issues, the suffering lasts longer, and pain becomes a chronic way of life.
Dr. Wiburg knows that children learn best when the content they see is meaningful for them and when their emotions, as well as their cognitive brain, are engaged in learning. Dr. Wiburg created Tiny Tales for her young students, basing them on language learning principles while making them more interesting to kids than many of the standard text books she was asked to use when teaching reading. Students enjoyed coloring the pictures and adding more meaning to their books. Be sure to read the Hints for Parents and Caregivers in the back of the book.
