Excerpt: Hristo Botev (Bulgarian: , also transliterated as Hristo Botyov) (January 6, 1848 ¿ June 1, 1876), born Hristo Botyov Petkov (Bulgarian: ), was a Bulgarian poet and national revolutionary. Botev is widely considered by Bulgarians to be a symbolic historical figure and national hero. Botev's house in KaloferBotev was born in Kalofer (some historians suggested that he was born in Karlovo and after several days was brought to Kalofer). His father, Botyo Petkov (1815¿1869), was a teacher and one of the most significant figures of the late period of the Bulgarian National Revival towards the end of the Ottoman occupation. He had a strong influence on his son during the latter's youth. In 1863, after completing his elementary education in Kalofer, Botev was sent by his father to a high school in Odessa. While there, he was deeply impressed by the work of the liberal Russian poets of the day. He left high school in 1865 and spent the next two years teaching in Odessa and Bessarabia. In the meantime he began creating his first poetic works and also established strong connections with the Russian and Polish revolutionary movement. His political views soon started to take shape. Botev returned to Kalofer at the beginning of 1867, where he temporarily replaced his ill father as a teacher. In May, during the festivities celebrating Saints Cyril and Methodius (it was his father who first organised at the end of the school year such festivities which today correspond to Bulgaria's national holiday on 24 May), he made a public speech against the Ottoman authorities and the wealthy Bulgarians (whom he alleged were collaborating with the Ottomans). Botev was pressed into leaving the town as a result. He initially decided he would return to Russia, but due to lack of money instead opted for Romania, at the time an asylum for many Bulgarian exiles. Extracto: Se denomina arquitectura rupestre a las distintas construcciones excavadas o esculpidas en cuevas, grutas o paredes rocosas por las civilizaciones antiguas. Las arquitecturas excavadas en roca han surgido en diversas partes del mundo con usos tan variados como ciudades, casas, aljibes, silos, templos o tumbas. Sus primeras manifestaciones se remontan a la prehistoria, y mantienen una producción significativa hasta la edad media. La arquitectura rupestre surge por norma general en aquellas zonas donde abunda la piedra blanda, como el caso de la toba volcánica (Capadocia, en Turquía), la piedra arenisca (Petra, en Jordania, o las ciudades Anasazi en Estados Unidos), o también incluso la piedra caliza o basáltica. En terrenos más disgregados también han surgido con frecuencia arquitecturas excavadas o enterradas, especialmente en climas muy cálidos, en busca de ambientes más frescos para vivienda, y con más frecuencia aún como almacén de alimentos. Estas últimas arquitecturas, sin embargo, en tanto que no están excavadas en roca pura y por tanto necesitan una subestructura o cualquier tipo de paramento separador o sustentador del terreno, es decir, en tanto que están construidas en lugar de esculpidas, ya no pertenecen al ámbito rupestre. Un caso particular de arquitectura rupestre es el de las llamadas arquitecturas monolíticas, que conceptualmente se pueden entender como el negativo de la arquitectura rupestre habitual. En esta variante, en lugar de horadar el interior de una montaña para crear un espacio, lo que se elimina es el exterior, en un proceso idéntico al modelado de una escultura, dejando un edificio habitable literalmente esculpido a partir de una roca. Inspector Gadget, es una serie de televisión de dibujos animados sobre un detective torpe y despistado, el Inspector Gadget, que es además un cyborg equipado con varios "gadgets" (artilugios) colocados por todo su cuerpo. Su principal enemigo es el Dr. Gang (en España) o Garra (en Hispanoamérica), líder de la malvada organización MAD. La serie estaba producida por DiC Entertainment y duró de 1983 a 1986. La serie fue una coproducción de Francia, Canadá, Estados Unidos y Japón, por lo que se dobló originalmente en inglés y francés. En el doblaje al español, los personajes mantienen sus nombres en francés para la versión de España, y en inglés para la de Hispanoamérica. La serie fue un éxito que generó otras basadas en los mismos personajes, así como dos películas de acción real. En la primera temporada, prácticamente cada episodio presentaba algún supervillano que entraba al servicio de Gang para cometer un crimen basado en sus habilidades especiales.
