"In The Uber Psychologist, author, psychologist and Uber driver, Maverick McGovern delivers colorful descriptions of his thought-provoking interactions with more than one hundred riders in the Charlotte area. The brief stories are fascinating. One leads to another and another, and I found it hard to stop reading, reminding me of eating potato chips; you just want more! McGovern's examination of the Stoic philosophy and how one can practice its Virtues demonstrates how attitude can affect powerful changes in how a person meets whatever challenges they have to face in life, from the tragic to the annoying and everything in between. As he states in the book, adversity is simply an opportunity to practice one's virtues. Susan Stackler Librarian/Retired School Teacher The Uber Psychologist is a book that highlights the author's experiences as an Uber driver and how Stoic philosophy can inform personal growth and development. The book also presents other techniques for personal elevation such as meditation, clinical hypnosis, and cognitive reframing. The author's unique contribution is reframing "The Death of Suicide," and the book's lively stories of many riders are said to be its most distinguishing feature. Overall, the book is highly recommended for anyone looking to increase self-awareness and develop a more beneficial life. Hello all and thank you for purchasing my book, which I hope will inspire you to read and write some poetry of your own. My name is Dr. Daniel Simon Pierre. I am originally from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, was raised in Montreal, Canada and now residing in the free state of Florida since July 1983. My long journey as a writer started in 1987 in Albany, Georgia, while attending Turner Job Corp Center, Lockyear College, and Darton College. Unbeknown to me, when I started writing out of boredom, if my thoughts were good enough for someone to read or even if I would eventually become a writer someday. To me writing allows me to express my deepest thoughts and feelings as I lose myself in a big ocean of dreams, the twilight zone of words, or a blossoming garden of alphabets. The reason for these analogies is, perhaps like others, good and also deep and hurtful personal things happened to me. Thus, writing and putting my feelings, emotions, and thoughts on paper allows me to express myself constructively, deal with the past, and overcome my burdens and hurtful times and moments.Indeed, I hope that while and after reading my books you will perhaps experience the joy, ecstasy, and great feeling of well-being and fulfillment that I personally experience while putting my words on paper.

And yet, 2% of Americans (or 7 million) don't brush their teeth at all! Building healthy daily habits is all about starting small, just 17-minute increments, and focusing on those 17 minutes daily. Getting up early is a part of this process since almost everyone is asleep and so you can do your habits without interruption. Getting up at 3 or 4 am seems like an impossible feat, but after a few months of daily work, you can do almost anything, like write a new book, learn a new language, and get into shape. All this just by taking 15-minute blocks of time; it's that easy to do your daily habits. Over time, you can sharpen your mind and build solid strength with no harsh drugs, no matter your age.

A gold-digger is often associated with a marriage or attractiveness based on high status and wealth. Images abound where an alluring woman (or women) is seen in loving embrace with her well-off, older (sometimes much older) beau, fiance or husband. It is notably a relationship grounded on avarice and false love, rather than on true love. It is precisely here where the similarities with a "chapiadora" begin and end in this book, since I provide a rather different, more nuanced conceptualization of this personality. To delve into the world and mind, and heart of a "chapiadora" is to transcend a particular country, culture, subculture, gender, and even class or age. What is revealed in this book points to a much more complex and often harmful world phenomenon that too many of us are unwilling to discuss out of fear or embarrassment. This short story purports to be a true-to-life account. It takes a deep look into the behavior and mind-set of a "chapiadora", which, when studied side by side, I call the "Anatomy of a chapiadora". It is my sincere hope that this short account will be useful in averting emotional and economic upheaval in people's lives.
Ossi is a young Israeli woman who was raised in a Jewish home in Jerusalem. Those who touched her life - the sadistic but charming Udi who dominated her life, and the gentle protector Uri, as well as parents and friends - helped create a strong-willed, empathetic lawyer turned inn-keeper.A life-altering tragedy pulls Ossi to France where she meets a pious Muslim doctor. His loving devotion soothes her spiraling struggle from the toll of multiple traumas. This is a painfully sad story. But there is hope... there is always hope.
The Palm Beach P.I. aims to be more than just a collection of crazy cases and stories from my career. By sharing my personal experiences, I hope to convey the journey of Faith, Redemption, Love, Loss, Tragedy, Grief, and Hope, that have led me where I am today.Albeit while simultaneously dodging bullets, drug-dealers, hookers, and some of the most eccentric characters I have ever met in my life.More so than the cases themselves, this book is about the people I have met throughout this strange and unique career path. Some have changed my life in profound ways, some have transitioned from clients to friends, a few have tried to kill me, and some I would just as soon forget. But a desire to help people is the fundamental reason for what I have chosen to pursue as a profession. And the reason for writing this book is the hope that, by sharing my experiences, my successes and my failures, my insight, as well as the mistakes I have made along the way, I am able to reach and help others whose paths I may have never otherwise crossed. The question I continue to ask during this journey is the one I have asked myself numerous times throughout my life. What are we here to do?This collection of stories chronicles some of the most interesting, comical, and bizarre cases from my career. But it is also an exploration of my faith journey and how that brought me to the path I am currently navigating. The desire to help others led me to the work that I do, but my faith in Jesus has literally saved my life and lifted me out of the pit of grief and despair. My intention is to provide a message of hope and show that through helping other we help ourselves heal. I endeavored to make the content entertaining, but it is my sincere hope that something in one of the stories may help change your perspective in a meaningful way. Whether that be in opening your heart and mind to the contemplation of your faith, or simply just getting involved in helping other people in whatever way you are able. As crazy as it has been, I love what I do and I hope that comes across on these pages.-Frank Ciatto, the Palm Beach P.I.

Being neurodivergent means having a brain that functions differently than the dominant societal standards of "normal."Technology isn't the only field that can benefit from people with ASD. Microsoft launched an Autism Program to specifically hire individuals with autism. Things like being a team player or great communication skills don't highlight what an autistic person can add to a company. While there are many benefits to hiring people with autism, the interviewing process can often be a stopping block. Many people with autism report that they aren't able to get a job because they don't interview well. For many, the interview process was the part that was most stressful.Roughly 60% of people with ASD have average or above average intelligence, yet 85% are unemployed" an article published by Harvard Business Review called Neurodiversity as a Competitive Advantage. Some people with ASD are a natural fit in the tech world.People on the autism spectrum exhibit signs and symptoms differently. The social aspect of employment is often the most difficult for people with autism. Some people on the spectrum do something called "masking" or "camouflaging." This essentially means that they do their best to pretend they're not autistic in order to fit in.Autism in the Workplace explains how to create a productive environment for an Autistic Employee, how to make modifications, how to successfully interview people with ASD, and provides simple changes to accommodate ASD employees.
This is the story of three men encountering their own personal demons, and how they ultimately collide on one nondescript Labor Day afternoon. There is Roger Cisneros, who is a registered sex offender, and who wants to "get even" by kidnapping a child in a small town. There is Arthur, a local idiot who has just gone through a divorce and is severely misunderstood and so has suicidal thoughts. Finally, there is Lloyd Bridges, a small-town police chief who is burnt-out and ready to retire and likes his alcohol just a little bit too much. Who will come out on top? ***Inspired by true events***
John Adams was a single 30 year old man and well respected in the small town of Wheatland in Central Washington. His handsome features made him a magnet for the women in the community, but it all ended when one cold December morning he was shot and killed in his front yard.Marianne Shutt was a current girlfriend of John Adams and told the investigators the only person she could think of that might have committed the murder was her ex-boyfriend Dustin Silver. The wheels of the police investigation began turning to gather evidence that would support their suspicion that Dustin Silver was the perpetrator. An early arrest was made on Dustin Silver and he was charged with First Degree Murder and the police reported to the local news media that Silver had the means, opportunity and motive to commit the crime. In comes experienced Seattle Attorneys Jackie Skelton, Mark Scalia and Colin Thurgood to defend Dustin Silver. Private Investigators David Anson and Monty Victor joined the Defense Team. The Private Investigators soon developed information that two local well known criminals, Ryan Bates and Juan Garcia were the actual killers. Their crime spree continued after the death of John Adams and exploded into violence that killed gang members and drained local law enforcement resources to control the spiraling violence.Detectives David Anson and Monty Victor went into the underbelly of the drug and criminal scene to locate witnesses that would not speak to the police and gathered evidence to exonerate Dustin Silver.Much suspense and a page turner to the end.
