Imagine these words: black ice, a car, a truck, a tree, and Northeast Ohio. These words can only add up to a tragic car crash. And they did! The nightmare happened on November 13, 2013, and left me on a journey searching for my brother and God. It seemed like a game that I didn't want to partake in, but I had no choice. This game led me to several hospitals where I spent my time asking the hospital staff if they knew where my brother was. They always led me to a room of an almost lifeless man lying in a bed and often looking at me like he was wondering who I was. Where exactly was my brother, the loud, boisterous man that I once knew for fifty-eight years? He was the man that you would hear before you would even see him. I wanted that brother back and wanted him back immediately!I spent ten years searching for my brother and God. It left me exhausted, mad, bitter, and at times, lonely. How would I go about finding them? I would have been happy if I could just find one of them, but who would be more important to me, my brother or God?I couldn't imagine God turning his back on my brother Father Steve, a devout Catholic priest, because I could only envision God taking care of him every step of the way.Would I be fortunate enough to find out that maybe God and my brother were hanging out the whole time searching for me? Maybe I was the one who was lost! If you like stories about faith, family, love, and willpower then this book is for you!

Many sermons are preached, classroom teaching, or one-on-one intercourse by using this verse or that verse to prove what the speaker's point is. Often, the reference verse may be describing a different situation than what the point is being projected by the instructor, causing the reference to be taken out of continence. This book is not developed to replace your present Bible study but as guide to set up a systematic habit of Bible study. By reading the Bible in order as it is written, you will learn and have the proper insight as to what the Lord is teaching you. If you study in such a way as to use a verse from here or there to prove your own point, you may miss what the Lord's point is.You can go as fast as you want, but the idea behind this publication is to help you set a steady pace of Bible study that will not tire you or boggle your mind. You should keep you cell phone in hand as it can quickly give you definitions of words and is a great fact finder. Remember, decipher what you read to flush fact from opinions. You will be guided to study the Old and New Testament during the week and reserve your study for your weekend congregation when you meet with your fellow Christians. Life unfolds in broken pieces, but pieces can be woven together into a fabric with meaning for us and others. We read the Bible and walk the paths of daily life, but as many people have said, they lack meaning. The key to making these strands weave together is the Holy Spirit. Our faith in Jesus Christ and the receipt of the Holy Spirit allow us wisdom and knowledge to bring our lives together--intersecting relationships with people and places, growing through our faith in Jesus. In our moments of listening, we hear the Holy Spirit speak to us--to do, to be, to share, and to grow in love. In the hurried lives most people live, we miss things. We miss the things that can help us, grow us, and make us resilient. But we must listen. No two people see or experience things the same, and through our sharing, we learn and grow. This book is about listening to the Holy Spirit speak through daily life lived and experienced not in isolation but in intersection. Intersection with others through time and locations across the country and around the world. Intersection with others to continue the work of the Holy Spirit in spreading God's message and His love to the world.May you be blessed at the intersection of love and life.

Choose you this day whom you will serve (Joshua 24:15). Every day, we are making that choice, whether we realize it or not, to live a life that reflects God or a life that reflects Satan. Whichever way we choose to live our life, at the end of that life comes death, then the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). You can believe this or not. The Word of God is faithful and true, and anyone's disbelief of the Scriptures cannot change it or make it become untrue. It only concludes one of two things: if you are right, then you did not waste any time; but if you are wrong, then the wrath of God lieth at your door, and hell will be your final "nonresting" place. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36)I pose the question to you: Where do you think you will go after you die? There is a place called heaven, and there is a place called hell, and you have the choice now to decide which place you will reside for all eternity. I hope believers who read this book will become even further assured, through the Scriptures, that they will see their loved ones again in heaven; and those who do not believe will receive the clarity they need to know that there is life after death, and the decision for where they spend eternity is their choice.

An angel of God came to an old priest while serving in the Holy Temple and told him his prayer would be answered. Zechariah and his aged wife would bring a son into the world, and he would be called John. The angel said John would be a joy and delight to Zechariah and Elizabeth, and many would rejoice because of his birth. John was destined to prepare the way in the spirit and power of Elijah for the coming Messiah. He took his first breath in Ein Kerem, not far from the Holy Temple. Six months later, by miraculous conception, John's cousin was born in Bethlehem, and his name was Jesus. He was born to be a ruler and king of all people. As small children, John and Jesus escaped the wrath of King Herod, who massacred the innocents to secure his throne. John was taken to the hills of Ein Kerem to hide, and Jesus was carried to Egypt. After the king died, the children were brought from their havens. They often played together, keeping childhood secrets and sharing their dreams. They grew to be men, strong in spirit and hopeful.John struggled to understand his purpose but believed Jesus was the Messiah who would free Israel's people from Rome's tyranny. Finally, in fulfillment of his purpose, John went through Judaea and preached repentance, making the way for the Messiah. He was then arrested by Herod Antipas, the son of the man who had murdered the children of Bethlehem. For nearly two years, John was in a dark prison cell, tormented by loneliness and the king's taunting. He struggled to understand where he had failed, and he began to wonder if Jesus was the one. Then he found his answer.
Does God forgive those who cannot forgive themselves? Can a sinner become a saint? Is destiny predetermined, or do we create our own? Is purpose in life important? These questions and more are evoked in The Sterling Redemption trilogy. In this first installment, Samson's Strength, we meet Samson Sterling, a successful and wealthy actor who has a bad-boy reputation for womanizing as well as drug and alcohol use. When his son develops a serious illness, he returns to his Louisiana hometown at his mother's urging so that she might help take care of the boy. Samson vows to stay sober during his child's sickness, and though he claims that religion isn't his thing, he soon finds solace as well as the strength to stay sober in the faith in which he was raised--the Catholic faith. The nurse assigned to little Joey Sterling's case is Christina Young, and she has dreams of her own, perhaps even a calling. But her student loan debt stands in the way, and the memory of her departed husband remains alive in her heart. Can true love be found in the midst of emotional turmoil, or will happiness be forgotten with a cruel twist of fate?
