Dalai Lama (2000) believes that seeking happiness "lies in our nature":The desire or need to be happy knows no bounds. It is something that lies in our nature. As such, it needs nogrounds and it is justified by the simple fact thatit is something we rightly want out of our nature. One has also asked if happiness is as important in all cultures. The answer is that happiness is at the top of the wish-list in every country; It is more important than wealth and to come to heaven, and as important as love (Diener and Biswas-Diener, 2008)....what makes us richer has been costly. The wealth, or what has been the prerequisite for wealth, has reduced a quieter life, close and stable relationships, we are moving apart. A materialistic lifestyle has a negative connection with happiness (Hellevik, 2003).NEF (2016) has calculated values on Happy Planet Index for 140 countries. Highest ranks Costa Rica and a number of other countries in Latin America. The population of Costa Rica has high values for happiness and longevity, and they have low values of ecological footprints. Norway has very high values of happiness and longevity, but also of footprints. In total, Norway is ranked twelfth and therefore highest among European countries, but closely followed by Albania. The United Kingdom is at thirty-fourth place, Canada number eighty-five and the United States number 108.

Sir Henry Ralph Stanley Birkin Bt., better known as 'Tim' after the children's comic book character, Tiger Tim, will be remembered as one of the most daring and sporting of pre-war racing drivers. A contemporary of Sir Henry Segrave and Sir Malcolm Campbell he was regarded as one of the most famous drivers of the period. He twice won the Le Mans 24 Hour race in 1929 and 1931. One of the glamorous "Bentley Boys", silk scarf flying in the wind, he was a fearless and ferociously fast competitor. On one occasion at Le Mans he took on the challenge of pushing the Mercedes SSK of Rudi Caracciola to breaking point. He succeeded; passing the German on the Mulsanne straight, two wheels on the grass, one tyre in shreds, at 126 m.p.h. He continued driving, pedal to the floor, breaking the lap record in the process. Belying his daredevil image, Sir Henry was an unassuming, shy man who suffered from a stammer but was passionate in his belief that Great Britain should be a preeminent motor racing nation. Full Throttle captures at first hand Birkin's accounts of the excitement and thrills of racing that he so loved. It was first published in 1932, the year before he died at the age of 36 as a result of burns incurred from leaning on a hot exhaust pipe after finishing 3rd at the Tripoli Grand Prix. This illustrated Daredevil Books edition features a new foreword by Allan Winn, former CEO of Brooklands Museum and reflections on Birkin's life by Derek Bell, five times Le Mans winner.

The life of Harry Morris was a classic 'rags to riches' tale: an East End Jewish barrow boy who became a feted nightclub operator in Knightsbridge and Mayfair. Each port of call brings back fresh memories and challenging revelations.Taking advantage of the crumbling of Harry's facade, Daniel Gardner tries to separate fact from fiction and understand why his glamorous but enigmatic grandfather disowned his heritage. It becomes a journey that will take him all the way back to the ancestral village in Poland and a universal story of emigration and reinvention. And in the process will he be able to help put the splintered ends of the family tree back together again?

In a world of constant change, where the very nature of work is evolving, how can organizations adapt to embrace a more human-centric approach? The answer lies within the pages of Neverland, a thought-provoking and insightful book by Trevor Hudson.Drawing upon years of experience driving organizational change and a deep commitment to transforming the way we work, the author explores the foundations of a more human-centered philosophy for the future of work. This book serves as a guide for overwhelmed leaders, trapped in the patterns inherited from their predecessors, often rooted in outdated Western, patriarchal and paper-based paradigms. It's a call to action, encouraging readers to ask the big questions that can unlock previously unconsidered possibilities in how we work and lead. The upheaval of 2020, marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, forced millions to work from home. The unexpected experiment demonstrated that remote work is not only possible but can even boost productivity. Yet, it also revealed the toll it can take on individual wellbeing. This book examines the impact of this monumental shift and the opportunities it presents, Neverland doesn't just highlight the challenges; it offers practical solutions and insights drawn from a rich tapestry of collective wisdom and pioneering efforts across various fields. As we navigate the ever-changing landscape of the future of work, two formidable challenges emerge: predicting the future itself and tailoring the human-centric approach to each unique organisation. This book delves into these challenges, shedding light on what pioneers are doing to lead their companies into this new era. It's a dynamic space, and readers are invited to be as excited as the author about the possibilities it holds. With insight, wisdom, and a dash of inspiration, this book is an invitation to leaders, innovators, and dreamers to be bold, ask the tough questions, and imagine a new world of work - a Neverland - where the landscape of productivity, creativity and the desires-made-real of every individual and employee coexist.
