There are many guidelines, protocols and advisories that outline how biosafety and biosecurity can be adopted by institutions around the world. Whilst helpful, many of these are tailored to affluent Western nations. This leaves developing nations far behind since their laboratories and institutions are resource-scarce and biosafety and biosecurity are not mainstreamed entirely among the different laboratory workers, healthcare professionals, researchers, and academics. Biosafety and Biosecurity: Practical Insights and Applications for Low and Medium-Income Countries aims to bridge this gap by comprehensively summarizing the state and development of biosafety and biosecurity in developing and developed nations in a comparative analysis. This book includes basic concepts and principles of biosafety and biosecurity, including certification and legal frameworks, both international and local, and biosafety and biosecurity across disciplines including environmental, medical, and special topics that are relevant to countries with comparable conditions. This proposed book solves the problem of the lack of a prescribed professional title that comprehensively summarizes the state and development of biosafety and biosecurity throughout the world, allowing the reader a 360 view of the subject area. This book will appeal to a global audience of biorisk officers, health and safety professionals and specialists in the life sciences, health and allied fields, environmental science, engineering, and plant and animal agriculture.

Digital marketing is not a new concept, it is not a trend, and it is not a fad either. Digital marketing has existed for over twenty years and is currently applied in all areas and marketing activities. For this reason, it is necessary to know the changes it has brought about, both in the theoretical framework, so that it can be taught, and from an empirical perspective, so that it can be applied in real contexts. The changes have been profound and far-reaching.This work addresses this theme, aiming to analyse the transversal impact of the digital in the different marketing sectors, describing the profound changes that the digital has provoked in the main marketing activities and their sectors, also referring to the current practices in use in each included topic. It begins by looking at the classic marketing topics, opening with an analysis of the impact that digital has had and is having on the marketing strategy of organisations, moving on to the study of consumer behaviour in an era of continuous use of electronic devices. This is followed by a new topic which is marketing research and data analysis, in a context where managers now have, more data, information and knowledge about the organisation, competitors, consumers and the wider environment than ever before. Marketing themes were also identified that have been significantly changed with digital. Communication is another of the themes of reference, with profound changes in recent times, followed by management of sales teams, supply chain management, relationship marketing, and internal marketing. The last chapters are also relevant contributions, being dedicated to marketing sectors: services, B2B marketing, internationalisation, politics, tourism, and NGOs.

Over the last decade, astrophysical observations of neutron stars -- both as isolated and binary sources -- have paved the way for a deeper understanding of the structure and dynamics of matter beyond nuclear saturation density. The mapping between astrophysical observations and models of dense matter based on microscopic dynamics has been poorly investigated so far. However, the increased accuracy of present and forthcoming observations may be instrumental in resolving the degeneracy between the predictions of different equations of state. Astrophysical and laboratory probes have the potential to paint to a new coherent picture of nuclear matter -- and, more generally, strong interactions -- over the widest range of densities occurring in the Universe. This book provides a self-contained account of neutron star properties, microscopic nuclear dynamics and the recent observational developments in multimessenger astronomy. It also discusses the unprecedented possibilities to shed light on long standing and fundamental issues, such as the validity of the description of matter in terms of pointlike baryons and leptons and the appearance of deconfined quarks in the high density regime. It will be of interest to researchers and advanced PhD students working in the fields of Astrophysics, Gravitational Physics, Nuclear Physics and Particle Physics.Key Features: - Reviews state-of-the-art theoretical and experimental developments- Self-contained and cross-disciplinary- While being devoted to a very lively and fast developing field, the book fundamentally addresses methodological issues. This easy-to-understand pocketbook in the highly respected Clark's stable of diagnostic imaging texts is an invaluable tool for student and practising radiographers, providing practical guidance to undertaking a wide range of mobile and theatre imaging examinations in multiple locations - different theatre environments, the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Units, including Neo-Natal Intensive Care, and on general wards.Carrying out examinations outside the imaging suite can be particularly challenging, given the circumstances in which they are often requested, the condition of the patient and the complexity of the environment. Additionally, management of the team and area from a radiation protection point of view is the responsibility of the radiographer and requires excellent communication skills.Clark's Essential Guide to Mobile and Theatre Imaging takes the systematic approach adopted within books in the Clark's family and designed to be clear and consistent, in which each imaging location is explored, the challenges of each identified and possible solutions presented. A wide range of theatre procedures is included, as well as the imaging requirements of each and common theatre practices, such as time out, are considered.
Jean-Marie Denoix is the world's leading equine musculoskesletal system anatomist and has become one of the foremost equine diagnostic ultrasonographers. There is therefore nobody better to compile a reference atlas of the clinical anatomy of the foot, pastern and fetlock, correlated with images obtained by radiography, diagnostic ultrasonography and magnetic resonance imaging. Advanced imaging techniques require in depth knowledge of anatomy for accurate interpretation and especially when using magnetic resonance imaging this must be a 3-dimensional concept of anatomy. This new edition replaces existing ultrasound images and most of the radiographic and MRI images with new, updated versions and adds new images of extraordinarily high quality, the multiple views of each area of the distal limb providing an extremely detailed evaluation. Each part opens with a characteristically superb anatomical drawing by the author. Each spread of pages deals with a single dissection viewed by means of colour photographs, labelled black and white equivalents, plus x-rays, ultrasound and MRI scans as required. The diagnosis and management of distal limb lameness require a precise knowledge of the functional anatomy and biomechanics of the equine distal joints, ligaments and tendons which are presented in the last chapter. The book is designed for maximum clarity using a generous page size. The atlas is essential for anybody involved in detailed anatomical study, complex lameness evaluation or advanced imaging techniques.

Zadeh introduced in 1965 the theory of fuzzy sets, in which truth values are modelled by numbers in the unit interval [0, 1], for tackling mathematically the frequently appearing in everyday life partial truths. In a second stage, when membership functions were reinterpreted as possibility distributions, fuzzy sets were extensively used to embrace uncertainty modelling. Uncertainty is defined as the shortage of precise knowledge or complete information and possibility theory is devoted to the handling of incomplete information. Zadeh articulated the relationship between possibility and probability, noticing that what is probable must preliminarily be possible. Following the Zadeh's fuzzy set, various generalizations (intuitionistic, neutrosophic, rough, soft sets, etc.) have been introduced enabling a more effective management of all types of the existing in real world uncertainty. This book presents recent theoretical advances and applications of fuzzy sets and their extensions to Science, Humanities and Education. This book: Presents a qualitative assessment of big data in the education sector using linguistic Quadri partitioned single valued neutrosophic soft sets. Showcases application of n-cylindrical fuzzy neutrosophic sets in education using neutrosophic affinity degree and neutrosophic similarity Index. Illustrates multi-granulation single-valued neutrosophic probabilistic rough sets for teamwork assessment. Examines estimation of distribution algorithm based on multiple attribute group decision-making to evaluate teaching quality. It is primarily written for Senior undergraduate and graduate students and academic researchers in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, computer science and engineering.
