This book predicts a future when the population of the world is near one hundred billion and on the verge of a super science. All life will be at risk if testosterone-driven males are still in charge of the monetary and power resources of the world. In this future world, the world government has passed strict laws that require castration of any male found guilty of any sexual assault or of using violence to commit any crime. Regarding reproduction, only one replacement child per adult is allowed. A replacement child is not mandated, but if one is cloned or otherwise brought into existence, the parent is required to raise and support that child until it reaches the legal age of thirty. Many men are refusing to make a replacement commitment in order to have the freedom to live their lives as they see fit, and scientists are predicting the extinction of the human male (now called a drone) within the next three hundred years. James B. Dreme is the oldest of seven children. He dropped out of high school during his junior year in order to join the service as the Viet Nam War was first heating up in the spring of 1965. After four years in the Navy, he met the expectations of the church he was a fifth-generation member of and fulfilled a successful two-year mission. After his mission, he got engaged and started school at A.S.U. After that, he graduated from Arizona State University and taught school for a little under a decade. Dreme then got divorced and re-enlisted for two more years in the Navy. He became an aircraft structural mechanic second class petty officer and switched to teaching individual students in their homes until he retired.

Ira Harris was taken from his family by representatives from the Board of Education trying to prove Negroes were inferior to whites during desegregation. His story happened in America during the turbulent 1960's. His mother was told she had freedom of choice to send him to any school she wanted! When the time came, his mother was told Negroes had no rights. He was forced to attend a white school because representatives from the Board of Education were trying to prove Negroes were inferior to whites in an effort to stop desegregation. This was done to them in America, and no one would help them! Today we are living in a time when Americans' rights are being challenged. Beware, Harris wouldn't want history to repeat itself and have the opportunity for education or their family's livelihood taken away from anyone because of their race!

Isaac Daniel Stewart: Utah in AmericaVal D. RustIsaac Daniel Stewart: Utah in America is the biography of a man who lived during the time the state of Utah was reassessing its place in the United States. During the 1950s-1970s, state leaders rejected intrusion on their sovereignty on the part of the central government, claiming documents such as the Bill of Rights or the Fourteenth Amendment did not hold for them. Consequently, the Utah State Legislature and the Utah Supreme Court were scorned by critics and even became laughing stocks by legal specialists. Dan Stewart was one man who was a central figure in the state, working as a law professor and a justice of the Utah Supreme Court for twenty-one years. Isaac Daniel (Dan) Stewart was an outstanding student and an all-star athlete. While he was in college, in the early 1950s, he interrupted his schooling to serve for 30 months on a Mormon mission in West Germany. Toward the end of his mission, he contracted polio and almost died. It took years for him to rehabilitate, but he was a quadriplegic and confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Even so, he was the valedictorian of his graduating class at the University of Utah. After working in Washington for a time, he became a professor of law at the University of Utah and later made outstanding contributions in a Salt Lake law firm. He was then appointed to the Utah Supreme Court. A major mark of distinction of Dan was that he challenged attempts on the part of state leaders to separate from the Central government in Washington, D.C. and the laws of the land. He was able to help turn the Utah Supreme Court around and helped turn it into one of the best courts in the land.

About the AuthorOlivia Ranz is a family-oriented woman with a lean towards the science-fiction/thriller side of the world. She owes everything to her parents, Edward and Peggy, as well as her two older brothers, David and Tommy. They've supported her through every endeavor and were with her every step of the way through the journey her first published book has made. Chapter 5 was actually inspired by real life events of Olivia Ranz attending her second comic convention where she met some of her favorite sci-fi actors. Though the aftermath the character went through was very exaggerated in comparison with how Ranz reacted (which was only slight embarrassment and a shrug of the shoulders), the experience did legitimately happen.

Author's Words: Peace and the ability to stand and live in a place of optimism is not easy. It can be hard, and it can be adaily fight! We forge this battle so unconsciously that it becomes second nature to us, and most timeswe don't even realize that we are fighting. We arbitrarily wave it off as "doing what we have to do" orassessing and then responding to (or not responding to), situations, events, or interactions that occur.I believe helping to build up others can be very instrumental in finding our own pathway andstrength in life. Many times, I don't even think it is that hard. Sometimes all that is needed is a smilethat reaches your eyes or a nod of acknowledgement. You don't even have to open your mouth! One Saturday morning I was late for a doctor's appointment. As I got outside, I realized that mystreet was closed off because of some necessary work being done. I would have to back out andnavigate the cones that were set-up so no cars could enter the block. Now, . . . . I can drive well butbacking out an SUV out of a narrow street is admittedly a challenge for me. Couple that with the fact thatI was already anxious! I was lucky that there were a couple city workers doing their scheduled route, who adjusted the cones for me so I could come out . . . . . but then I was on my own. The street wasnow starting to come alive with more people.I continued to backup, and do not know how one of the cones ended up under my passenger reartire, but it did. Of course, people are now on the sidewalk gathering because they are too afraid to crossthe street and I am in panic mode. Then suddenly, this man who was walking his dog, comes up to thecar and asked me if I was alright. I said, "Sir I can't back-up this car." He said to put the car in park andlet him look at the cone under the tire. He came back and said it was stuck, and he was going to try topull the cone out as I gently moved the car forward. I said okay. He started to move away, and then heturned back and looked me straight in my eye and said, "Miss please don't kill me and my dog - Makesure to put the car in 'drive' and not 'reverse.'" The dog had never left his side. I said sir, I got this! When he was done, he smiled at me and then he and his dog were gone. I can tell you that I have liftedthat man up in prayer countless times since that incident and he will more than likely forever be astranger to me. He showed me kindness and gave his time and effort just because he saw my need!Let it be, that at the end of each day, we ourselves can call on Him, knowing in our hearts that wehave genuinely tried to reflect the image we were made in. No, we can never get it exactly right, but wecan make every effort to. This book is written in the hope that it will show the human difference that wemake every day in each other's lives. It really isn't that hard, especially when we are connected to Him!Thoughts to share: Feed your soul with positive things, and people that make you happy and show you good will. Lift yourspirit by giving back to the universe that which you feel is your gift to give no matter how small. Begenuine in giving love and kindness from the heart! And lastly remember... roses always work!!
Everybody likes stories, whether they're reading or hearing them. And everyone has a story, either as a short peek into some snippet of their life or a painful look back at drama or remembering and smiling again at a past humorous happening. The trick to surviving life is to jump in and experience it before asking 'how deep?', then dry off, sit still and listen, learn and toughen up from the hurt or just chuckle all over again when you find the lighter side of your life.I guess you can call this book a memoir. I look at it as just an ordinary old woman's collection of stories from her ordinary life. Rather than use the general narrative form of memoir literature, I tell my life in simple stories about who I was as a kid, and then a young mother coping with kids, marriages, friends and suburban life and then growing into the old woman I am now, still trying to live a responsible but fun life, always looking for the bright side. This book is a collection of a lot of that.
How to Connect with Your Grandchildren During a Pandemic acts as a kind of scrapbook of the ways in which one grandmother found creative ways to stay in touch with her beloved grandchildren as the world went under quarantine during the COVID-19 pandemic. From Zoom call games of hide-and-go-seek to at-home wrestling practice between brothers, Grandma and her entire family managed to stay connected as ever, though miles apart, and their memories are chronicled here in this book. Now primarily going by the names Grandma, Grammy, Gram Gram, and Graham Cracker, Cheryl Van Cleave had an extensive career in education, having been a teacher at an elementary school, middle school, high school, and a behavioral school and prison, with a specialization in Special Education. She also became an Assistant Principal. Van Cleave volunteered as a softball manager, baseball coach, umpire, cub scout leader, has been involved in the PTA, Welcome Wagon, and Meals on Wheels, and has tutored at schools throughout her community. Her longest-running hobby has been researching and compiling her family's genealogy.
Petra, a young career woman, suddenly and inexplicably finds herself in the midst of an early "midlife" crisis, ending her eight-year relationship and losing her mojo at her dream job as a book editor. Woven together is present day third-person narrative and first person memories, dreams, and journaling, Something Not Broken gives readers the opportunity to become intimately acquainted with Petra's inner life, while challenging them to unwrap the mysteries of the past that shaped her, much as Petra herself is doing. We all go on the journey with her. These characters are all flawed, and searching for, or at least desiring something else, and yet on the surface, they have everything. The author hopes this story will emotionally resonate with readers long after they have forgotten the words. Her wish is that they'll be less critical of themselves and others, aiming to understand before judging. About the AuthorMarissa Dara Foster started writing short stories and poems when she was eight years old, and has loved writing ever since. Foster looks for any reason to string together written words: Christmas cards, journal writing, a screenplay, letters to loved ones, prayer requests. She even turned a college job as a minutes taker for an academic panel into an excuse to write beautiful, flowery prose. Other things Foster loves include cooking, making homemade liqueur, weekend excursions and daytrips, wine tasting, crystals, fudge, blown glass, praying in empty churches, especially small chapels with stained-glass windows, reading, tennis, walking, "thinking about my twin flame, starting my day with coffee and chatting with Jesus Christ."
