In 1972, I felt impressed of the Lord to write a book about my life and ministry. He even gave me the title, With God As My Partner. I voiced my objection in prayer by "reminding" Him that I had only been preaching for three years and pastoring for one. I had no experience in writing, but all I heard in return was, "Not now."I went through life with many "experiences" (both good and bad) piling up through the years. About four years ago, my wife said, "Ron, why don't you write a book about your life and ministry?" I didn't have any good answer for her; and since she is my best friend, my closest confidant, and my dearest prayer partner, I gave it some serious thought. In the following year, I came in contact with three or four others who asked me the same thing. In view of this, I went to the Lord in sincere prayer, and He said, "Now is the time."The book is not really in any chronological order but goes back and forth at times as I remember things. Again, the only way I could remember times, people, and names is With God As My Partner. I was not striving to produce any item of "literary art," but something that could be shared with others what God has shared with me through the years. It has been an interesting journey, and I look forward to continuing it.When I gave the book its title, it was with a sense of humility, and not arrogance. I am well aware of the fact that the only way I (or anyone else) can "partner" with God is by His grace, realizing that it is all for His glory.
A group of nieces decided to take their Aunt Hazel on her vacation to Ireland. Aunt Hazel's two daughters went along to be with their mom and several of their cousins also went. They quickly heard of legends from long ago, but this happy group didn't let things such as Long-ago legends bother them. After all, it is in the past, right? They all heard the fun stories of Leprechauns, Fairies, Witches, and Pots of Gold at the end of a rainbow. Aunt Hazel decided to take a short walk but became somewhat nervous when a small man dressed in green began talking to her, and now she was really concerned and didn't know what to think about this whole disaster. When she had started taking her walk down a beautiful trail with many pretty flowers, her problem now was that she was lost and didn't know how to return to the castle where they were staying. She knew the girls would be searching for her, and she prayed they wouldn't get lost like she did. Would the girls really be able to find their sweet aunt, or would Aunt Hazel wander around the countryside? She was in a far-away country that she didn't know much about.

They called him White Chocolate. They were the black transient society who lived on the streets and back alleys with Jim in Raleigh and Jonesboro, North Carolina. They took care of one another; they had each other's backs because they were the outcast, the dispensable, the displaced and forgotten, living in the asphalt jungle. They lived and existed any way they could. They were and are even today the pimps, the prostitutes, the drug and alcohol addicts, the homeless, and the mentally impaired who fall through the cracks of an unjust society that cares little about them and would rather not even see them. These throwaways of refined society loved Jim and gave him a sense of belonging. They helped Jim crawl out of the pit of hopelessness and ultimately into the unity and happiness with the family of God.This is the true story of a severely abused child who modeled his dysfunctional upbringing and became a pitiless, selfish, absentee husband and father. Jim abandoned his family and became so despondent and nugatory that he hit the skids. While living in a halfway house and later on the streets in the ghetto, Jim went to school, earned a degree in divinity, and later became a pastor. Jim found his happiness in living with, teaching, and caring for these refugees who are oftentimes deemed as reprobates by an unmindful and uncaring society. This is Jim's story. I am his sister, and I wrote this narrative, as I lived some of it. The rest of the story I penned from the dying lips of a veteran who died from the toxic effects of Agent Orange that he was poisoned with while serving this country in the Korean War.As I close this book of remembering, I open through tears and say, "Jim, I miss you. I wrote your story and I didn't 'pretty it up'!"

The ELM-SC design integrates the empowerment leadership process to achieve social change design as a joint effort with a different technical or human design thinking mindset that empathetically engages the individuals, followers, and community to discover, define, decide, design, and deliver the desired social change. Empowerment leadership is presented as a means of empowering people and organizations for societal impact and community well-being. The book serves as a guide for social change agents to improve the quality of life and well-being of humanity and as a mechanism for effecting broad-based socio-economic transformation. Intentional acts of developing and enabling individuals to achieve results through education, training, and access to material resources are integrated as part of the plan for sustainable change. The key empowerment leadership attributes with respect to developing leaders for social change are presented in the context of a transformational leadership process that empowers individuals and followers for maximum productivity in other- or community-centered services. A detailed discussion of the supporting elements of a transformative empowering leader's interactions and attributes with respect to developing leadership empathetic mindset to social change is given full attention. Full discussions on leadership empathy set up the groundwork for empathetic understanding in human-centered design thinking and in cultivating hands-on engagement in the lives of the individuals and community.
Finding Orthodoxy took me Forty-Two years; it was a time of self-discovery, joining the Navy, trying my hand at Chinese Medicine, moving to Indianapolis from Daytona Beach; where I married and was blessed with a beautiful daughter. But wait, I am getting ahead of myself: I was born into the Mormon Church with my Grandfather being an elder of the local church in Fallon NV. Every time we set a date for me and my sister's baptism into the Church, I was never baptized Mormon. When I joined the Navy, my bunk mates provided ample reasons for me to join an interdenominational Church in Virginia Beach; I was also going to the local Calgary Assembly of God Church. I never really felt whole and stopped going to Church; It wasn't until I found Christ in the Greek and Antiochian Churches in Indianapolis that I truly felt I belonged; I am now going to a Greek Orthodox Church in Texas and I know that I am home.
Scattered Assets seeks to be a conduit for facilitating a much-needed and provocative dialogue on optimal 21st Century Pan-African development, through understanding the leverage and power of resource use; a selected, 8-work anthology of the author's speeches and writings (from the vantage points of human capital, sociotechnology, culture, and economics) is used to discuss empowerment. The notion of African-Americans and the African continent becoming mutual resources is a major, recurring and explained theme. Also, the book offers a fresh perspective and analysis - and thus, a new conversation - on empowering African people and associated interests through prudent use of existing tools and assets.
The Authentic Leader as Servant Part I: The Outward Leadership Attributes, Principles, and Practices looks at leadership from a perspective proposed thousands of years ago: A leader who is also a servant is, for the most part, qualified to lead when the individual is ready to carry out their assignment as a servant while pursuing the growth others... The book describes the leaders' outward attributes using comprehensive, irrevocable facts and principles. The author describes the exemplary leader-as-servant outward attributes, including servant-hood as trust, influence, generosity, and persuasion, among many others, especially how to apply these qualities when serving others. The book focuses on the Biblical model of leadership that engages studies from the secular, sociological, and business perspectives, and explores how a leader as a servant's relationship to followers can be productive and nurturing. The author argues that nothing is as pure, other people-centered, and service-oriented as a leadership modeled after the ultimate authentic leader and servant, Jesus Christ. Sylvanus N.
