Selection of poems by Sri Chinmoy, with forward by Janaka Alan Spence. "If I have tried to 'place' Sri Chinmoy's writing, it is not with the intention of limiting it, of consigning it to a category. In fact I think he has created his own space, his own category, beyond the ebb and flow of literary fashion."

During the first twenty days of July 1977, Sri Chinmoy delivered one hundred short talks. These talks were given at his public esraj performances, at picnics, even at a local high school playground after morning sports practice. In very few ways, though, can these pieces really be called talks. They contain a rhythmic, almost musical quality more like blank verse than prose. More importantly, they express a flow of ideas so subtle and melodic that they cry out to be felt and assimilated on an intuitive plane. Before speaking, Sri Chinmoy would enter into a high meditative state and then speak extemporaneously. These talks, then, are expressions of a state of consciousness far beyond the mind's reach\: short, illumining bursts of light from the Master's boundless Realisation-Sun.

This book contains the prayers that Sri Chinmoy offered daily during his weightlifting sessions.Speaking about the prayers, Sri Chinmoy has said, "Every day, with folded hands, I give these prayers for you, for humanity. I do this not for myself. I do it for all my spiritual children. I do not think about what I am going to say on any particular day. I just throw myself into the Universal Consciousness and identify myself with this person or that person. It is like plucking a flower from a garden. The flower that I like most, I take. I see that one particular prayer is most appropriate for that person on that day. Tomorrow I will identify with someone else. It is all oneness, oneness, oneness. Where my spiritual children are, I also am there. If you take me to hell, even there I will go, but with the hope that one day I will be able to bring you to Heaven."
Answers IV: Earth's cry meets Heaven's SmileSince Sri Chinmoy formally began his mission on 27 August 1965, he has answered literally thousands of questions and answers, on subjects pertaining to the spiritual life. This set will draw together not only the unpublished material, which will be of great interest to the Master's own disciples, but also the previously printed questions and answers which were scattered in dozens of successive issues of magazines or pamphlets.
These rhyming plays began on a Christmas Trip with Sri Chinmoy in China, December 2004. On our winter retreats, as well as meditating with Sri Chinmoy in person, we had the privilege of immersing ourselves in his new creations: songs, prayers, aphorisms, stories and artwork. In the evenings it usually fell to us, his disciples, to entertain one another on stage. Much of the programme consisted of plays based on the Master's stories - some of which are tales retold from Indian folklore, others anecdotes from Sri Chinmoy's own experience, others born of his own creative imagination, and many seemingly from delightful worlds between.
Yoga means union, man's conscious union with God. Yoga is the spiritual science that teaches us how the ultimate Reality can be realised in life itself.Yoga is the language of God. If we wish to speak to God, we have to learn His language.Yoga tells us that we have a divine quality called aspiration within us, and that God has a divine quality called Compassion. Yoga is the common link between our aspiration and God's Compassion.
