When the struggle ended in the Rwenzori region of Uganda in 1982 after twenty years of fighting, four short years of unprecedented development followed. It affected many areas of the people’s lives, but it especially impacted education. In this combination history and memoir, author Amos Mubunga Kambere recaps the development of education in the region but also discusses how he came to be Ugandas youngest member of Parliament. In Celebrating Literacy in the Rwenzori Region, Kambere takes a step-by-step walk through his life while relating the forces that instituted change in the educational system. The region saw eight new government grant-aided secondary schools, two partially grant-aided secondary schools, one private secondary school, two primary teacher training colleges, and a technical school. At age twenty-six, as the youngest member of Parliament ever elected in Uganda, Kambere didnt have much on his political manifesto except the recognition that his people were educationally backward. His task was to convince the population that education was the best weapon to fight backwardness, poverty, repression, and enslavement.Celebrating Literacy in the Rwenzori Region tells his story for the next generation, to convey to them the lessons to be learned and the importance of education.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is the free-standing bell tower of the Cathedral of the Italian City of Pisa. The tower is known worldwide for its unintended and permanent tilt. The tilt (lean) of each person is a demonstration of their choice-deliverance or defeat. Humans are either leaning toward Christ or leaning away from Him. A choice is a cognitive assertive decision-behavior (CAD-B)-a deliberate decision to be proactive and definitive about one's trajectory. Godly CAD-B turns the turbine of personal productive change which leads to transformation and renewal of body, mind, and soul. It is spiritual "will" and "won't" power in motion that is fueled by the Holy Ghost-the divine catalyst of a believer's new creation.
Surviving to see another day was always the mission. Before she was able to hit puberty, Kwanna found herself making adult decisions. The pressure from the streets was on. While the pot of dysfunction was broiling at home. There was nothing else left for her to do but pack her bags and take that walk down the boulevard of broken dreams. After adopting the streets as her family she went on to become a notorious gang member who was well known all across the city. In the streets it was an accomplishment to be a female who was respected. Remaining loyal to the brotherhood, putting in the work to show and prove herself, Kwanna and the children she came up with were literally products of chaos, genocide, and self-destruction. They were a generation that was fearless, had no conscious, no direction and held no punches. The only thing they had was each other and that was enough. After all the countless funerals and multiple trips to jail. Kwanna begins to reap all the seeds she had sown which had grasped her attention to change. Most children grow up preparing for which prominent university they plan to attend. That was not the case for Kwanna and majority of her peers. This is memoir sheds light on the children who were raised in urban communities in the early 90's. Children who were preyed upon, exploited and led astray from becoming the best versions of themselves.

America is five hundred years old; the United States is less than half that age. The term America was coined in 1507 to refer to a continent and a dream of a new world. People in the United States, especially government leaders, have a serious problem of regularly speaking as if their country were America. Author Gabriel Moran reflects on the use of the word America in the United States from its beginning to the present. He cites numerous examples to show the importance of distinguishing between the United States and America. The result is a different way of perceiving and understanding the history of the United States. This book is especially relevant to the current political division within the United States and some of the missteps in its foreign policy. The failure to consistently distinguish between the nation of the United States and the continent and dream America underlies nearly every political, cultural and economic problem that the country faces.
OVER THE LAST CENTURY scientists have made tremendous strides in understanding the physical nature of the universe and the biochemical nature of life. Yet the most salient feature of individual lives--our day-to-day consciousness and experience of the world, or "sentience"--remains stubbornly immune to scientific explanation. This divide is called the "mind-body problem," and it is centuries old. In this book, author Carey Carlson performs two valuable tasks. First, he lays out the mind-body problem in crystalline common-sense prose. Second, he proposes an intriguing solution based on the work of early-twentieth-century philosophers Bertrand Russell and Alfred North Whitehead. This book will be of interest both to general readers of science and philosophy and to those steeped in the literature. The second edition includes additional arrow diagrams in Chapter 5 that fortify Russell and Whitehead's view of physics as a causal web of time-ordered events.
I was formally a Federal Employee who was discriminated against by my employer. I filed a total of seven (7) EEO grievances against the Federal Government. When the administrative remedies failed, I filed suit in Federal Court. One of my cases made it all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. I subsequently won all my cases that turned out to be one of the largest settlements in history. It took me five years to win all my cases. The 2000 Federal Census claims that there are over 146 million employed people in the U.S. and every 3 seconds one of them is discriminated against. I wanted to let these people know what happened to me, and if they are experiencing the same treatment, they have Civil Rights and can fight back. My CO-workers and even a Federal Judge told me that I should write a book. So I wrote a tell all book in detail on this very serious problem facing the employed people of this country. This book is a tell all book about what happened to me and how I fought back. The next book will explain just how I legally did it. It took me five years to win, but what I know today; I can help any employee in the United States do it in less than 2 years.
