The study looked the relationship between refugee rights awareness and their livelihood in Uganda using Kyaka II Refugee Camp in Kyegegwa district. The study was conducted with three specific objectives; that is; to find out whether awareness of the right to work has a bearing on the livelihood of refugees in Kyaka II Refugee Camp. To establish whether awareness of the rights to land affects the livelihoods of refugees in Kyaka II Refugee Camp. To establish whether awareness of the right to education affects the livelihoods of refugees in Kyaka II Refugee Camp. The study reviewed literature according to themes that were delivered from the objectives. The study adopted both descriptive and cross-sectional research on a sample size of 402 and using both questionnaires and interviews.Governments, with the support of donors and international actors, should establish better conjuncture between rights, law, and economic interests related to refugees¿ rights to work and access to labour markets, and also better align law and policy to give effect to the right to work there by improving the livelihood of refugees.
Tunnel Boring Machines are the most commonly used machines in the excavation of urban tunnels. Damage to the structures on the tunnel route during or after the tunnel excavation is one of the most important risks. In urban tunnel excavations, which are generally excavated in weak and difficult ground conditions, machines working with the Earth Pressure Balance Method are used. These machines, prevent the inward movement of the tunnel face and control the amount of settlement by applying pressure to the tunnel face. The most important question here is to determine the amount of pressure to be applied to the tunnel face. There are many widely accepted formulas used in the calculation of the face pressure and these formulas generally try to limit the settlements on the ground by using parameters. In this study, a new formula was developed. This new formula calculates the face pressure required to be applied by EPB to the tunnel face in order to prevent damage to a structure located on the route and within the area to be affected by tunnel excavation, instead of only preventing settlements on the surface.

The utilization of waste material like fly ash is the need of time. Hence, application of fly ash for improving the properties of concrete is studied. It is found that by introducing fly ash in concrete, properties of concrete are altered. It will be helpful for sustainable development of concrete. Concrete containing very high volume of fly ash is usually called high volume fly ash concrete (HVFAC). The HVFAC is one specific type of fly ash concrete with higher fly ash contents, lower water/cement ratio (W/C), and lower cement contents. This is to take full advantage of the increased workability and strength provided by fly ash and the low W/C, and to produce a more environment friendly concrete by reducing its cement content. Volume change is one of the most detrimental properties of concrete, which affects the long-term performance of concrete. To the practical engineer, the aspect of volume change in concrete is important from the point of view that it causes unsightly cracks in concrete. One of the most objectionable defects in concrete is the presence of cracks, particularly in floors and pavements. Shrinkage is one of the main factors responsible for fine cracks in concrete.
This study assesses Legal Framework regulating Urban Land Management from Good Governance perspectives, the case of Selected Ethiopian Towns. To achieve these goals, descriptive research with Qualitative and quantitative research methods were used. Questionnaires, Interview, focus group discussion, and secondary data was employed to collect data and analyzed descriptively. The find of these studies revealed that urban land tenure rights were not legally recognized and protected in practice as there was no legal framework defining the culture of the aboriginal community in relation to urban land rights. Undefined land for public use does not encourage landowners to use their urban land efficiently since most public land can be transferred for undefined private use. Enforcing rights through the regularization of urban land was unaffordable due to problems in identifying informal or undocumented evidence in urban areas highly prone to pet corruption. The mechanisms used by institutions to stop illegal settlements with coercive measures by violently demolishing illegal buildings in towns were leading to a socio-economic crisis.

Anganwadi workers play an important role in the country's healthcare and early childhood development services, and they frequently face a variety of obstacles on a daily basis. The purpose of this study is to look into the elements that influence Anganwadi workers' subjective well-being and ability to maintain a healthy work¿life balance. This research uses a quantitative methods approach, including questionnaires, to provide light on the particular issues faced by Anganwadi personnel, such as severe workloads, low compensation, and inadequate resources, as well as their influence on the overall quality of life of these dedicated professionals. The findings provide important insights into the specific issues experienced by Anganwadi workers and how these challenges affect their overall well-being. By gaining insights into these issues, this study seeks to provide recommendations and interventions that can enhance the subjective wellbeing and work-life balance of Anganwadi workers, ultimately benefiting both the workers and the communities they serve.

It is widely acknowledged that even before the emergence of Islam, Arabs had established trade connections with the inhabitants of South India's west coast. Their vessels, loaded with merchandise, frequented the ports along the west coast and voyaged to the Far East via Ceylon. Some Arabs settled in various parts of the Indian peninsula, where the locals became acquainted with Arabic through them. The spread of Islam accelerated with the arrival of Muslim traders, who encouraged adherents to memorize sections of the Quran for daily recitation during the five obligatory prayers. As the Quran wasn't yet translated into local languages, Muslims studied it in its original Arabic form. Arab traders felt obliged to arrange Quranic teachings and later, Prophet traditions for their children and the local community, using mosques as educational centers. They imported authentic Islamic literature, often brought by pilgrims, facilitating the spread of Islamic knowledge across South India. In North India, Persian language permeated alongside Muslim invaders from Persia and Afghanistan, eventually becoming the country's official language.
This study assessed the spatio-temporal change of vegetation in Ile-Ife natural reserve between 1986 and 2014; and examined the existing forest management strategies adopted in the area. It also examined the role of the forest management strategy on the level of change in land cover within the area. These are with a view to determining the influence of anthropogenic factors in forest degradation in the area.The study used both primary and secondary data. The primary data consisted of a set of questionnaire ¿ backed up with interview sessions with the forest guards and delegates of the management team of the Ile-Ife natural reserve. It also made use of the coordinates (x, y) of selected features and land area that were obtained using handheld Global Positioning System (GPS). The coordinates of features in the study area were used to geo-reference the multi - date (1986, 1999, 2000 and 2014) images of the area.

There is a need to develop new methods to synthesize nanoparticles. Interest in these products has led to concerns about the environmental safety of their production; Objective: Currently, nanoparticle production is often expensive and uses chemicals that have an impact on the environment and requires the development of ¿greener¿ protocols. Here, we describe the synthesis of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) using plant extracts, an alternative, effective, inexpensive and environmentally friendly method to create nanoparticle geometries. Method: phytochemicals present in the aqueous leaf extract act as powerful reducing agents. Produced AuNPs can be used in transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), ultraviolet visible spectroscopy, energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA); Results and Conclusion: The prepared nanoparticles have been shown to be biocompatible and exhibit no bacterial or antiviral activity, so they are considered safe for many applications in nano medicine.
