Journey of Faith for Adults welcomes adults of all ages and backgrounds to the Catholic faith and meets them where they are in their own faith journey, using an engaging pastoral style. Based on the ever-popular and long-running Christian initiation program from Liguori Publications, Journey of Faith and Jornada de Fe (previously, Camino de Fe) addresses relevant life issues, faith topics, and questions in a catechetical approach to OCIA.Now with a new, more modern design, Journey of Faith combines discussion questions, private journaling, and other activities to appeal to a variety of learners and offer a program that's flexible enough for you to modify to your particular needs. For parishes that enjoy Liguori's Catholic Update newsletter, lesson-by-lesson references allow you to easily supplement any topics with timely and enlightening articles. The lessons in Inquiry begin with the concept of faith in the Catholic Church and continue the exploration into many topics that will be discussed further throughout the program. Some of the concepts include the Trinity, Jesus as fully human and fully divine, an introduction to the Bible, prayer life, the Mass, Church leadership, Mary, and the saints. The related comprehensive Leader Guide gives you everything you need to walk into your OCIA sessions and start leading--whether you're a veteran catechist or a first-time volunteer. Additional discussion points prepare you for their responses and keep the conversation going. The contemporary wraparound design enables you to see what your participants see so you can spend more time sharing and growing in faith alongside your group. The process by which adults are initiated into the Catholic faith throughout the United States is now called the OCIA--the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. "Order" is a clearer translation of the Latin term for the process formerly known as the RCIA--the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. People preparing for baptism and reception into the Church celebrate several rites as part of the order to which those rites belong--an order whose mission is to journey in the faith. The US Conference of Catholic Bishops adopted the name change in 2021, with American dioceses introducing the name thereafter. For more information, please contact your local diocese.
French soldiers were fighting English soldiers 600 years ago in France. Joan, a faithful teenage girl and the daughter of farmers, wanted only peace. She heard Gods voice telling her to help France and the future king. After convincing Prince Charles to let her lead the French armies, she and the soldiers won battle after battle. Her faith supported her even after she was captured by the English, put on trial, and sentenced to die. St. Joan is the patron (May 30) of soldiers and France.

For over 1,500 years, believers from all Christian traditions have looked to St. Benedict, the patriarch of Western monasticism, for spiritual wisdom. And rightly so: his rule has shown how one may experience a simple, holy, and common sense life, despite the increasingly busy pace of our daily existence.
The latest addition to Liguori's popular series of seasonal meditation books provides not only Scripture readings for the seasons of Lent and Easter, but pairs them with a daily selection from the cherished writings of St. Benedict. This book encourages the reader to set aside time each day to reflect upon a specific Scripture passage while providing a suggested activity for Christian living during the Lenten season.
In the Lent/Easter seasons when we focus on Christ's great sacrifice for our salvation, we can renew our alertness to the many ways in which our own lives can model his and be other-centered. And like St. Benedict we can come to know God's spirit through the habit of prayer and meditation.
View sample pages.
Paperback
