"Buckle in for the bone-chilling finale! The Cyber Solutions team has managed to stay one step ahead of the madman who has killed so many, stopping him before reaching his ultimate goals. From the original 26 Below cyberattack in Fairbanks to the 8 DOWN serial murders in Anchorage and beyond, they matched wits with the killer and won in the end. But final judgment is coming. And this time, there may be no stopping him. David "Mac" McPherson has a personal stake in making sure this predator stays down for good. His family died in the Fairbanks attacks. Mac knows that God says "vengeance is mine"-but surely an exception can be made. Surgeon Tracie Hunter is determined to stay sober and keep saving lives in Fairbanks, Alaska-even if it means being a little obsessive. After all, that same kind of determination is how she kept Mac alive after the monster attacked him. And she won't let Mac run himself into the grave looking for payback; he's come to mean too much to her. Then someone hacks into the system at Tracie's previous job as a medical examiner and frames her in a murder cover-up. There's no one else skilled enough to create a digital trail this incriminating--the killer is back in action, exploiting cybersecurity weaknesses that will destroy lives. Can Mac stay focused and stop the next attack when his own personal vulnerability is exposed? Or will his need to make someone pay for his pain allow the maniac to pull ahead and win at last? Kimberley Woodhouse takes readers on another intense thrill ride in this epic close to her cybercrime series based on real-world possibilities"--

"You are allowed to experiencing deep joy in following Jesus. God has given humans freedom and permission to play-to fully enjoy life's moments as he intended, with no ulterior motive. The Christian life without play becomes malformed, and believers can miss aspects of the abundant life Jesus came to give. In A Theology of Play, Kevin M. Gushiken builds a case for getting serious about play as a vital element of being a Christian. Play, he writes, is not merely an activity but a way of living. Gushiken explores play from various biblical and theological lenses: How an identity grounded in God's good creation invites us to play. The connection between play and the biblical concept of Sabbath. Why past hurts don't have to keep us from enjoying the present. Releasing false guilt and shame to find true freedom to play. How to play in the midst of difficulty and pain. Ultimately, knowing and enjoying God brings freedom and pleasure. A Theology of Play helps Christian believers identify barriers to play in their day-to-day lives and offers faithful guidance in recapturing play within the rhythms of life"--

Rely on the unstoppable power of the gospel, not your own words Most Christians have people in their lives who they're sure will never come to faith. Whether they're too committed to their sinful ways, too angry at God, or too quick to shut down any mention of the saving grace of Jesus, these long shots don't seem worth approaching. But some of the most unlikely converts have the strongest faith stories, and they can be a source of incredible encouragement for Christians who are trying to evangelize those around them. Randy Newman knows firsthand the discomfort that comes with sharing the gospel. He's been tongue-tied and timid too. But the truth is, we don't need to sound like the brilliant, charismatic, legendary evangelists. In this book, Randy shares surprising conversion stories straight from those who took the long way around to Christianity. He considers current cultural trends that make evangelism more difficult today. Then with his characteristic upbeat style, he offers practical ways, and even exact wording, to proclaim the gospel and includes a plan of action. In the end, Unlikely Converts encourages us to remember that while the Great Commission requires us to share the good news, it does not require perfection, only confidence in the message.

"According to the CDC, one in four people in the United States lives with a disability, yet many of our churches don't resemble this reality. Attempts to welcome those with a disability are often implemented by well-meaning but ill-informed people. The results can lead to those with disabilities feeling excluded and isolated from the family of God. One Body, One Spirit gives eyes to the able-bodied to see the challenges experienced by those with disabilities: Physical barriers to places of worship, classrooms, and small group settings leave people outside the gathered family of God. Emotional barriers, like fear and prejudice, preclude them from using their spiritual gifts. How can church communities, both on the congregational and individual level, address these issues? Paul Pettit and Jason Epps provide a roadmap by looking at a biblically informed solution. They survey disability in the Old and New Testaments, provide a vision for full integration, outline how to conduct a disability audit, and offer a five-step plan for how to change the culture of your church"--

God called three ordinary people to become extraordinary men of faith, and their lives became enduring examples of courage, faithfulness, and humility. This classic volume examines the relationship to the Living God of each of these three men--their spiritual victories as well as their failures--and the crucial turning points in each of their lives whereby God was glorified. Boice further demonstrates that just as God was at work in the lives of Abraham, Moses, and David, he is also at work in the lives of believers today.

"Theological Education demonstrates how churches and seminaries can cooperate through a competency-based learning approach to ministry preparation--that is, competency-based theological education (CBTE). CBTE focuses on the mutual mission of the church and theological education: developing followers of Christ who flourish in their vocations. This first book-length treatment of CBTE lays the groundwork for expansion and refinement as theological schools and churches move together in partnership, exploring: principles that ground successful CBTE cooperation, such as collaborative mission, contextualized discipleship, and holistic assessment; and practices that a CBTE approach requires, such as affordable programs, flexible technology, and continuous improvement. Using the CBTE model means seminaries can provide practical ministry training together with churches who invest in the theological education of those who minister among them" -- publisher's website.

"The multisite church model has been consistently challenged, deeming it unbiblical and incompatible with God's design for the local church, but does Scripture support this claim? The multisite church movement pushes against these assumptions. In Multisite Churches, pastor and church vitalist Dustin Slaton posits that congregational polity is compatible with the multisite model, dismantling critiques of the model with both urgency and care for the local church's future. At a time when church fostering and church adoption is predicted to increase significantly, the multisite church model is a solution that can support the adoption of churches" -- back cover.

"You should pray in the morning. You should write out your prayers. You should make prayer lists and pray through them every day. You should pray with others or out loud. We've all heard the "you shoulds" of prayer from pulpits, presenters, and well-meaning friends. But when none of these ways to pray feel natural, what's next? Janet Holm McHenry has studied prayer extensively, and the one thing she knows for sure is that there's no one-size-fits-all way to pray. Instead, there are different styles of prayer-and by discovering the style most instinctive to each individual personality, staying in touch with God throughout the day becomes simple and all the more joyful. In this book, the author helps readers determine their particular praying personality by examining the praying styles of biblical people, spiritual gifts, and various ideas about personality, including the classic temperaments, the Enneagram, and more. McHenry includes scores of bulleted suggestions for developing a praying lifestyle that works for individuals. She has also put together a Praying Personality Quiz for readers to take in the back of the book or online to help narrow down the style that will most naturally fit into how they process. Whether a longtime Christian who has tried various prayer strategies but can't keep up or a new believer looking to learn about spiritual discipline, every reader who dives into this book will come away with a renewed prayer life and a greater understanding of who God created them to be"--

"Fair Meadows Retirement Community might as well be a country club for most of the retirees enjoying the pool, golf course, and book clubs. But for the caregivers whose family members reside upstairs in the special Memory Care Unit, vacation is over. Comforting these caregivers is exactly why the Woolgatherers group has formed. They make prayer shawls to support those affected by the heartbreaking reality of not being recognized by a loved one-people like Sam Talbot, who has been barely existing since his wife moved into Memory Care. He finds that his life has lost all color and meaning without her. That's something the Woolgatherers can't bear to see. Flirtatious Jenny Alderman, cranky crocheter Edna O'Brian, kind Rose Harker, and the rest of the prayer shawl group weave him into the circle. Sam has no idea how he got tangled up with them, and he's no good at knitting. But when one member talks him into taking up his wife's old crochet hooks, he discovers that this one small gesture might just have the power to heal his life-or even save it. Full of Sharon Mondragâon's characteristic humor and heart, this book wrestles with the loneliness of being the forgotten spouse of a dementia patient, moving past the fear that the spouses often face into the love and compassion that can make all the difference"--

"The idea that Christianity and science are inextricably in conflict is a relatively recent conception. However, with each new scientific discovery and scriptural insight, it's an idea that's being proved to be insupportable. Sy Garte has immersed himself in both science and faith and knows they work beautifully together to sing of the greatness of God. Now this respected scientist shares how God's world (nature and science) and God's word (made flesh in Christ) are bound together in loving harmony. In Science and Faith in Harmony, Garte examines modern scientific concepts and what they can teach us about theological truths, such as the dual nature of Christ. He explores the ways in which the terminology and language of science and faith consistently match each other. Despite his deep dives into theology and science, Garte does not get overly technical in his writing. Instead, he is personal and passionate, speaking directly to readers with a tone of joy and wonder, inviting them to join the chorus of praise to the Lord. If you're still wondering whether the truths of science and Christian faith are in conflict, you need this book. Following the path of Christ and holding a scientific worldview at the same time is not only possible but also leads to a fuller, richer life of harmony and truth"--

The Gospel of Matthew contains both overt and subtle connections to the Old Testament, capitalizing on the scriptural literacy of the work's original, first-century Jewish audience. These complex and multifaceted connections are not always recognized by today's readers, meaning significant ideas can be easily missed or misappropriated. David B. Capes elucidates these extensive backgrounds, echoes, quotations, ways of thinking, and patterns of living, showing how God's plan--introduced in the Hebrew Scriptures--is revealed through the very person, work, life, and ministry of Jesus. Avoiding overly technical discussions and interpretive debates to concentrate on Old Testament influences, this book combines rigorous, focused New Testament scholarship with deep respect for the entire biblical text.

Thirstonfield Halt is a supernatural thriller spanning two-time lines, and lives. The main protagonist of this story, Jack Bright, is first introduced to us as he commits another murder and flees the scene - later committing suicide. We then follow him through short but very descriptive beats from an early age, through World War Two, and eventually to his death, and beyond. The modern-day protagonists are Paul Sullivan and Jill Goodwin. They are engaged and live together in a small village called Hutton Rudby. Following a brush with Cancer, Jill decides to leave her job, and concentrate on writing, while Paul continues with his architectural practice. With the need for them to live between their places of work gone, they decide to move. Their life before, and after the cancer is idyllic. With no children yet planned, Jill has a constant companion, Charlie, a Springer Spaniel. After searching, they find an abandoned train station nestled in a shallow valley in the North Yorkshire Moors. After becoming smitten with it, they sell up and restore the station, not knowing it's past, or who still resides there. As the story continues, we find out more about Jack, and his connection with the Bradbury family who owned the station, and who sold it to Paul and Jill. As things begin to happen, and weird events unfold, Jill begins to investigate the station's past. Eventually this leads her back to the Bradbury farm, where she confronts Mavis, the farmer's wife who reluctantly at first, tells Jill their family secret.
