As a child I loved rocks and gems, I even had a stone polisher. I always wanted to learn more, however I could never find any good reference books that were written for children. I am now an adult and have two children who also are fascinated by rocks and gems. In (primary school) year three they both had to do projects on stones. Again finding good reference books was very difficult. This book is the book I wish I had as a child and the book that my children wanted when they were investigating rocks for school.
