About 80% of the world believes they have a novel in them. Most are probably right but they have no idea how to write one, develop plots, characters and atmosphere or how to structure a book of any genre, whether it be a thriller, a romance, a sci-fi epic or anything else. This book uses the problem-solving techniques of the top-level international business consultant to show you how to develop plots from almost anything and how to create characters that leap out of the pages with a life of their own. After that, it's the mechanics of writing that can stall the prospective novelist. What are the essential ingredients of each novel? How does a thriller differ from a sci-fi adventure? How do you write for kids and young adults? The author has written and published more than twenty-five books of his own and published more than that of other writers' works. He has taught writing classes with local groups and with the prestigious Camp Creative in Bellingen, NSW for the last two years and both groups have produced authors who have finally learned how to get that novel written that has been in their minds for many years. He uses the same workshop techniques to work with schoolchildren and develop a complete novel by getting the students to develop their own stories, characters and twists. This is the pathway to getting over that final hurdle at last and sit at the computer, typewriter or notebook and get that novel written.
Mustapha al Yaffi had murdered Scott's parents and sister, apparently by accident when the internationally feared assassin had targeted some diplomats in a hotel. But when Scott retires from the Royal Air Force as a helicopter pilot, he is offered the chance to join the Mongoose Section, a British anti-terrorist group charged with protecting VIPs and hunting down just the sort of assassins as al-Yaffi. Scott leaps at the opportunity. But as he seeks out the terrorist all over the globe, his world is turned upside down as everything he thought he knew about his friends, his target, his origins, even the real nature of his family turn out to be nothing that he could ever have imagined. In the end, he is faced with a decision that nobody should ever have to make.
A massive conspiracy has been brewing in the USA since the end of WWII when two young American servicemen came home from the ruins of Berlin with stolen Nazi treasure and embarked on the creation of the "New America." Over fifty years they became the two richest men in the country and formed their secret committee consisting of some of the most powerful men in the nation, sufficiently well funded and connected to military, industrial, religious and political powers to establish control over the USA. A coup is planned after they have destabilised America by a series of murderous riots that kill tens of thousands. Only a small group of highly trained operatives learns about the conspiracy and is frantically working to destroy it as the day of the coup approaches. But not everything is as it seems, and neither the agents nor even the members of the Council for the New America know the real objectives of the Council's founders. The dreams of those two old men are far more complex, far more ambitious and far more lethal than any of them could possibly have envisaged.

It was Christmas 1821 at Ballbritton. James teamed up with a wild mob that had been tagged the 'White boys.' They terrorized the wealthy neighborhood, robbing from the rich. He had met up with John Daly from the days when he would hang around the wharf unloading barges. They finally met their match when on 26th December 1821, they were apprehended on the Grand Canal in Kings County. To make matters more serious they had stolen arms from a house owned by Mr J. Cooper. The two men were sentenced to death in Phillips town under the 'White boys Insurrection Act.' They were tried in the Assizes court on the 20th March 1821.

Erwin Biener's comfortable middle-class boyhood in Hungary was destroyed by the coming of the Nazis. For a long time, he and his mother lived a terrible existence hiding from the Nazis and their equally maniacal Hungarian allies, often just seconds from capture and deportation to the concentration camps. Eventually he was able to get out of Hungary, but that was not the end of the privations, the hunger and the battle to survive. But at last he was able to come to Canada, shortly after followed by his mother and it was not long before the drive, the intelligence and the mutual caring were able to provide them with a comfortable life again. These vignettes reflect the bad days, the fear, the danger and eventually a humorous, philosophical outlook on life that has stood Erwin in good stead over the years.

Rock fishing is often claimed to be the most dangerous sport in the world. The author, despite several close shaves (described in the book), survived over 40 years of the sport, including highly risky solitary night fishing. When seas were simply too treacherous, big fish were sought from beaches instead. This book describes the author's often colourful and amusing introduction to the sport at a young age and follows his fishing adventures to the age of 63 (and still going strong) in both South Africa and Australia. Boasts of the longest fishing trips without washing, how to avoid the use of soap if you must wash, dealing with diarrhoea in the bush, enemas and poop-eating bush pigs, as well as numerous stories of hooks-in-the-body help to make up the humorous side of the book. Suggestions on how to stay alive while rock fishing and how to land big fish conclude the book. So sit back in a comfortable armchair, beer in hand, and allow In Search of Big Fish to take you away to the roar and salty spray of the sea, the bite of a big fish, the fight that follows, and the joy of landing the prey...or the horror of losing it.

One of the most devastating diseases to hit the world in recent decades has been the HIV virus. More than twenty million people have died since the disease was first discovered in 1974 and the numbers keep climbing. But what caused it? The conventional wisdom has always been that it originated in the homosexual community and spread like wildfire because of the unsafe sexual practices within that group. Only the dedicated investigative work of a young journalist and her friends uncovers the details of this plot and they must fight to protect their lives against the murderous efforts of those who need to keep the secret as they dig deeper and deeper into the monstrous, inhuman plot.

Socrates has been quoted as saying, "An unexamined life is not worth living." For years, Ted Heaton has been a strong devotee of Socrates, so when one morning, an unexpected gift of a chipped Buddha he would later call Irving was left at his front door, he had a realisation about what self-acceptance as a man can really mean. After years of childhood sexual, physical and emotional abuse, stalked by a pack of wolves, chased by mafiosa, threatened with death by fathers, husbands and ex-husbands, suffering the wrath and cost of many wives and confronted by Mounties, Ted's expectations of reaching enlightenment were remote. But the passion generated by the imperfect Buddha's presence drove him to explore his own imperfect life and by so doing, helped others find what he has - happiness and meaning.
