AbbyLove is for the weak. At least that's what I've always been taught.A weekend in the arms-and bed-of an imposing drug dealer almost had me changing my tune and following my heart, only for him to leave me like everyone else, forcing me to renew my focus on myself. Then everything changes-every man I date ghosts out of nowhere, my apartment never looks how I left it, even mysterious gifts show up with no return address. How could I have known the man I spent one weekend with years ago kept me in his sights, hiding in the shadows until the perfect time to take me back and this time, keep me all to himself?KolsonWhen I met her, I was just a hard up dealer with nothing to his name. I couldn't keep her, no matter how much I wanted to. She was perfect. And I didn't deserve her.Dealing drugs was supposed to be a way to make quick cash and give myself the life I always wanted. The life I was never given growing up.Making my way to the top didn't come easy. It took years of hard work and dedication. The same dedication I only gave to one other thing: her.I kept watch for years-protected my siren and made sure she wanted for nothing. It's finally time to come out of the shadows and claim what's mine.
This book symbolizes my experiences and emotions thus far in my life displayed in different sections of the book. The Caterpillar for me represents a time when I had not yet discovered my potential, was struggling with mental health, and felt alone. The Cocoon for me represents a time when I began to heal, but merely was just surviving, making sure the darkness did not overtake me again. It was a time of quiet hiding and feeling not truly alive or living in purpose. However, I was in transformation towards becoming better, even when I did not fully realize it. The Butterfly represents my life now, where I have accepted myself and have begun a journey towards wellness and chasing wild opportunity as my best self. Learning and growing each day despite the ups and downs life brings about. I also found the support network I needed and have built strong connections that have kept me going. I wrote this book to express the importance of mental health, relationships, and finding purpose, things that have all impacted me the most. This book is a piece of my heart that I hope speaks to the hearts of others.
"My child's child is twice my child," I heard my mother, Maria, say in Greek, her only language, in referring to her English-speaking grandchildren. She had heard these same words from my grandmother and my grandmother heard them from her grandmother, back through the generations of my Greek island origins. Who were these strong women, who maintained family continuity and identity through the turbulence that dramatically changed the face of Greece through the 19th and 20th Centuries? My story follows them, three named Triantafyllia, my given name, and two named Maria, my mother's name, from the Ottoman occupied island of Tinos in the Aegean Sea in 1790 to the American Midwest at the end of the 20th Century. Heritage is important in understanding how and why family identity survives war, social upheaval, immigration and assimilation. The strong women who preceded me passed down the will and the way to accomplish this. I pass the story of their heritage on to Kate, Elizabeth, Paul and Kane, twice my children, and to others who are trying to shine a light on their dimming origins in order to illuminate their futures.
In this easy-to-read introduction to the wondrous power of the holy Rosary, internationally acclaimed Mariologist and speaker Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC, shares some of the greatest triumphs and miracles attributed to Our Lady's favorite devotion. Journey with Fr. Calloway from the forests of France, where St. Dominic was first given the Rosary, to the seas where the Battle of Lepanto was fought; from the battlefield of the hearts of lapsed Catholics like Bartolo Longo to the minds of Albigensian heretics. With a foreword by Bishop Athanasius Schneider, this little book will inspire you to take up and spread this most powerful devotion.
