2027 looks to return some dignity to Yorkshire after decades, or even centuries, when centralised power had gradually eroded, and knowingly neglected, the needs and aspirations of this significant part of England. The book makes an interesting case and says a lot of things that need to be said. Richard Honnoraty. The Scenario is 2027, election promises made for the 2024 election have been forgotten; 'Levelling-up' 'Northern Powerhouse' and 'a fair deal' have become the stuff of the Music Hall. Deprivation has not been so pronounced since Victorian times, infrastructure hinders progress when it should be supportive and commercially we are significantly underinvested. The book explores the last four years from 2023 and describes how the organisations within Yorkshire started to take back control, by-pass the politicians and begin to rebuild the society that has been taken from us all. Steve Mullins, born in Yorkshire, moved south and on returning several years ago was dismayed by the evident neglect of his home county by central government. His earlier book Yorkshire - the Case For Independence is a case study which demonstrates that Yorkshire could flourish if significant resources were not channelled to the South-East. This book is a step on the way to regaining the county we deserve. An original and fascinating analysis of the political elite, and how they got us into this state of affairs. Steve provides a pragmatic and practical solution to get us out of this current unsatisfactory situation. Made me think. David G. Philpott

I am 41 years old and live in a small town in West Yorkshire, where I also work, in a shop. I have enjoyed writing since I was young, and this has continued throughout the years. Poetry has always inspired me, and a few years ago I felt I wanted to try my hand at writing poems myself. The subjects just seem to come to me from nowhere. Sometimes I am lying in bed when I get an idea. Sometimes a family member or friend says something which gives me inspiration for a poem. I even sometimes get an idea while I am at work. My poems are intended to be meaningful, and I hope they will inspire others, and help them to achieve their dreams. Writing poetry also ties in with another of my interests, namely tarot reading. I am interested in all things spiritual and see myself as a very spiritual person. I think this is reflected in my poems. I hope that everyone who reads them both enjoys them and gains some kind of benefit, so that they feel good afterwards, as I often do when I read other writers' works.

60 Minutes to REVEAL Your Purpose Using the REVEAL tool to write & live your life purpose The health and psychological benefits of life purpose are well documented and supported by decades of research. People with a clear sense of purpose experience increased resilience, confidence and self-esteem. Clarity of purpose is associated with happiness, positive personal relationships, wellbeing, longevity and overall quality of life. "60 Minutes to REVEAL Your Purpose" features an original, practical and inviting approach to help personal purpose emerge. What is unique about REVEAL? Purpose exploration is supported by the step-by-step REVEAL tool and self-guided templates - enabling tangible progress. While most people feel a general sense of purpose, articulating that purpose is often a challenge. Much like writer's block, we can experience "purpose block" - a struggle to put purpose into words. People tend to seek purpose at times of crisis, transition or self-doubt. In other words, we are highly motivated to explore life purpose when at our lowest ebb. Our daily routines and busy schedules may further cloud our awareness. As a consequence, we may find ourselves off-track and unfulfilled. The REVEAL tool will be an hour well spent but it's just a beginning. Purpose is not permanent and continuously evolves. The approach can be revisited and will support a lifelong interest in life purpose. If you seek purpose (and reap its many benefits), there is support and guidance for you here.

A champion jump jockey who finished second in a Grand National without stirrups; who broke his back yet overcame paralysis, not just to walk again but to ride in a race; who became a catalyst for the Injured Jockeys Fund."When people suffered that kind of injury in the 1950s and 60s, the approach was, 'you've broken your back, you'll never walk again'. Now you've got gyms and trainers and physios to get you motivated. Tim got himself motivated. He did things and helped himself to a degree that was unknown then. He defied all the odds and prognoses." Elain Mellor."Tim will always be remembered as the man who refused to give in; who never knew when he was beaten; who was an inspiration to anyone in pain or adversity." Bob Williams."He was a hero. He was a proper man." Sir Mark Prescott."They say you should never meet your heroes but I met Tim Brookshaw on my very first day as a jump jockey and ever after he only grew in my estimation ... Chris Pitt has done more than Tim's memory and the racing world a favour for this is a book that needed to be written."Brough Scott.
