I believe this book was spiritually inspired by the original anonymous author. As I read her handwritten words, it was as though she was whispering them in my ears. I was imaging her words in my mind and feeling her emotions. This is why I put her actual handwritten words as she wrote them on one side of the page and the typed portion next to it. See if you hear her whispering in your ear as you read her handwritten words, and do you experience any of her emotions? I believe her name was Barbara, and she was affected by WWII as was my father's second wife. If you experience any whispering or emotions, please let me know. Also, if you feel a cool breeze as you read, it could be the north wind. When the "power of love"OvercomesThe "love of power"The world will be at peace--Sri Chinmoy (Indian spiritual leader)I believe Barbara was trying to find a love relation to replace the love who I believe perished in WWII. We all need love in our lives. When we lose someone close to us, it is a very traumatizing event. I lost a son of sixteen years. You can never replace or forget. You live with it as long as you live.
The title of the book carries you to your final destination, but the most important items are how you get there. In looking at the table of contents, one can see how one of the early items, section 2, is selecting the executor of your estate. Imagine if the author selects you to serve in that capacity. Unfortunately, you would have no idea of what my requests would have been--but if I had filled out each of the sections, you would know, precisely, what I desired to be done.In addition, there are questions you could use in making decisions about the capabilities of specialists, such as financial advisers, attorneys, realtors, and others you may need at some time. Most importantly, in section 35, where you may want to move to a senior living facility, there are thirty-five questions you need to ask and three copies of the questionnaire for each of the three facilities you choose to interview.
I have been writing poetry my whole life. As a poet, I see things differently. Since I like my poems to always rhyme, it is a challenge to always write them. Hem, stem, problem.
Are you homeless...unloved...loved? Will you journey with me to the depths of despair? Will you journey with me to the heights of joy ... to a spiritual awakening of the good in every man? Please come with me.

What's the shape of a market? What's the shape of your business? What's the shape of your conversation? What's the shape of your thought? Are there shapes for those? If there are, how can we see them and why do we need to see them? In other words, why should we care? Well, do you care if your businesses are in good shape or bad shape? I bet you do. Then how do you know what shape it is in if you can't see it? Seeing it allow us to have a chance to realize, to fix, to improve, and to keep us in good shape. This story is about me, a boy who grew up in a small town in West Virginia. One night, my dad and I were watching the news, and they showed the hippies and talked about what they were doing. I told my dad that it was what I was going to do. He told me to go for it. I did. At thirteen, I hitchhiked to Virginia Beach and back. When I got home, I did go to jail. My grandfather would get me out. He was a deputy sheriff. I left home a lot. I always went to the beaches: Daytona and Myrtle. We used to sleep on beaches. At age fourteen, I was taught something that I would need in my life. I was into harder drugs by this time--acid drugs that made you trip and see stuff that ain't there. Every time I would run away from home, I would be in jail when I got back. I didn't go to school much. I went to parties with my friends. I was tutored in the eighth grade. The school passed me from the ninth grade to the twelfth to get me out of their school. I don't know how I passed, but when I got to the eleventh grade, something happened. I was kicked out of school for drugs. I quit school and went to school at night.I had to drive to night school. I was studying to take my GED. The classes were three hours a night. My best friend also quit high school and came to night school. We skipped school one night, drove to Pennsylvania, and pulled an armed robbery. I didn't go home for three days, but we got busted. This was April 1975. I took off and went to Virginia Beach with some friends. I hitchhiked back and had my first meeting with the real law (FBI / US Marshals). They were camped out in my family's yard. I had charges against me--murder and kidnapping. I wonder what happened.Four years down the road, I ended up at the carnival. I did that for twenty-five years. I cooked sausage, pizza, and fried veggies. I did rides and games. The life I lived was different from anyone else's life. I got more education on the road than I did at school. Life gives you so many challenges; you never know what to expect. Just like the roads I have traveled--unexpected roads.
On October 6, 2021, two people, a man and a woman, embarked on a journey together. This was to be a journey of reconciliation. The man and woman were Lisa and Brad--my first wife and me.We had been separated by space and time. Our story has been tested by all the emotions of humanity and the judgments of insanity. We have traveled through years and across miles, lived in reality and in dreams, to finally miraculously reunite. This is a love story of exceptional highs and tremendous lows. This is a story of vigilance, perseverance, and steadfast commitment. This story is for all those who cherish relationships.Throughout the reconciliation process, I have written several love letters to Lisa, which have become the best therapy for us that money cannot buy. At a certain point, it became obvious that I needed to write our whole story. This book contains that story and the love letters that have inspired its telling.Within the pages of this book are the real-time love letters (which have been written during the ongoing reconciliation between Lisa and me) interwoven into my perspective of how we came to be, came together, came apart, and came back.My hope is that at the end of reading this work, you will have laughed, cried, sobbed, sighed, and realized that love--true intended love--can and will survive.
Greetings! It is truly remarkable that, after six decades, I find myself inspired and given the opportunity to delve into the historical and current struggles of Black Americans in the South and various states across the nation. Despite enduring immense hardships, such as poverty, their predicaments are seldom addressed by the media. Regrettably, I fear that without direct action from politicians who recognize the urgent need for change, these issues will persist, leaving them neglected. They are now hopeful that their struggles can be remedied before White supremacists' prejudiced attitudes towards Black individuals worsen. I would deeply appreciate it if fellow Americans could spare a moment to peruse this book. I am confident that you will find the accounts of Black people's experiences in life-and-death circumstances intriguing and thought-provoking. So fasten your seat belts and prepare for a challenging journey through the past, present, and future. While reading this book may be unsettling as you venture further into an era that few of us would have survived--enduring the unimaginable conditions of physical and mental enslavement by White supremacists--please know that it is entirely understandable.
Poetry is a beautiful art form that comes from thoughts and the heart that flows. This compilation of poems is influenced by the flow of nature and the winding roads of life. Life is about catching moments between the light times and the dark times of our lives that we are surrounded by. Whether you are on a mountain summit or in a valley or in between, life is about the ups and downs that develop who we are. The alpenglow is a magical moment when in the twilight hours, the hues of red shine on the opposite mountains from the sun. It only lasts for a brief time, but life is the same way, as we all are trying to capture the magical moments that mean so much to us. Clutch those moments, whether it be a sense of nostalgia, recollections of memories, your family, or the breathtaking views that capture your heart. This collection consists of the elements of nature and how we can miss the smallest details of life around us. The elements of family, culture, and so much more always leave lasting impressions of mementos in our lives. I thoroughly hope you enjoy this compilation. Stay on the winding roads and keep chasing your alpenglow, catching those moments that will forever be in your mind and in your heart.
Two random people from New York are brought together by circumstance one fateful night.Antonio "Tony" Willhiem is your average young man from Queens, New York, with dreams just like anyone else from the suburbs. He just seems to have hit a patch of bad luck since he was a kid that seems to only get worse as he gets older. All he wants is what most people his age want--college education, a good job, a solid future, and of course love. What more could anyone with sensible desires ask for?Michelle Victoria Du'Pree is anything but normal; she's from a rich, socialite family in New York City, but she is in fact close to three hundred years old--half human, half demon, called an Immortal, more commonly known in religious texts as a succubus or lust demoness. She has her own wants too: companionship and a lifelong mate of her very own and, of course, freedom. But she feels like she's cursed with loneliness as she wanders through the darkness and decades in Manhattan's shadows. In a chance meeting at a nightclub called the Factory, will a lonely immortal demoness and an average guy from Queens find out they are destined to be something more together, or will this meeting lead to something more sinister and hideous? One looks to an immediate future while the other looks toward the long looming years of immortality ahead. But when evil meets the prospect of love, can this really be true? Can evil actually love? Has she found the one person to spend her eternity with, or will his fate lead him to a gruesome end like so many have met before him? In the end, where will this lead, and what force has brought these two together who are worlds apart, and for what reasons?
Every fall, Dad and his buddies drove 200 miles to Jack Hochlander's tiny, unheated Adirondack cabin, centrally located in the middle of nowhere, to hunt deer. In 1957 Dad became part-owner, making him the happiest man on earth. Now, outside hunting season, he brought my brothers and me along, teaching us the ways of the woods - and how not to cook. We had an absolute blast. As Dad said, "We don't have a lot of money, but we have a lot of fun." The cabin became my favorite place on earth, too. Given a choice, I'd take a weekend at the cabin over Christmas. "I can't wait for the day you fellas do the driving," he'd say, sucking on a smoke, steering his latest jalopy up the crumbling old roads. "I'll just relax, look out the window and watch the woods go by. I'm really looking forward to that."Twenty years later, on his sixty-third birthday, February 6, 1979, he got his wish - but I was the only driver. My brothers, wisely, chose not to come. I thought we'd have a great time, snowshoeing, swapping stories around the wood stove, but I never factored in his drinking. Saturday night, drunk, he challenged a group of reviled snowmobilers at the Deer Head Inn and barely escaped with his life. So much for our glorious weekend. After his untimely death at 73, his youngest son Graham took over the cabin. That didn't last long; directly across our road a huge new house was built, spoiling our serenity, wrecking our wilderness, and Graham was gone; now at long last, the place was mine. Like Dad, I started bringing my kids up. Would they feel the same magic Dad and I felt there years before?

Nearly two million military members have deployed in support of the continued conflicts in Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom, OIF) and Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom, OEF) and Operation New Dawn (OND) (Campbell and Riggs 2015). We as a society have become more aware of the effects of war. For example, we know that military members who have engaged in combat are far more likely to be diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression. Yet there are many unanswered questions related to the psychological treatment and interventions developed for those who have served in the Armed Forces as well as the reduction and prevention of the completion of suicide in this community. The current statistics state that twenty-two veterans a day die from suicide (Department of Veterans Affairs 2017). This body of work is dedicated to the impact that war can pose on those who have served in the Armed Forces and aims to shine a light on the impact that moral injury can pose.
If an astronaut farted during a spacewalk and neither sound nor smell is carried in a vacuum, did he really fart? This book will answer the question. Some packages say "Open here." What would you do if it said "Open somewhere else"? Why are they called "apartments" when they're all stuck together? Why do we say something we don't like "sucks"? Is sucking bad? Would you trust a proctologist with poor depth perception? What exactly are the duties of a rear admiral in the navy? Give a man a fish and he'll eat. Teach a man to fish and he'll sit on his ass in a boat all day. Pee for enjoyment, not employment! What would happen if a poisonous snake bit its own tongue? Why is lemonade made from concentrate while cleaning products are made with real lemon? If your coffee tastes like mud, maybe it was ground this morning. If you're in a vehicle going faster than the speed of light, what would happen if you turn on the headlights? If a new airport opened in Los Angeles, would the closed one be called "EX-LAX"? If it's zero degrees today and it's supposed to be twice as cold tomorrow, how cold will it be? If you live in a trailer at the top of a hill, are you upwardly mobile? If tweetle beetles battle with their paddles in a puddle and the puddle's in a bottle and the bottle's on a poodle and the poodle's eating noodles, what does that mean? Dr. Seuss was here! If you threw a hand grenade into a French kitchen, you would have Linoleum Blown-Apart. Always remember that you're unique, just like everyone else. This is the ultimate collection of conundrums, oxymorons, parodoxi, puns, valuable trivia, and general advice for living. Won't you join in the fun as the author takes you around the world of the bizarre, the unanswerable questions and their answers, crazy facts, punny puns, and axioms that will improve your life in a hilarious way.

Anyone who has dated on the internet knows it doesn't come with an instruction manual. If it did, there would be some better behavior while trying to present oneself as likable. Stephanie Baswell became a regular on the internet dating scene after pressing the reset button on her life. She started over in a new state, and her hilarious journey lifts the veil on the lack of humility and desperate behavior that comes with cyber searching for a potential match. On the quest to settle down and spread some roots, she instead found herself knee deep in unsolicited dick pics, divorced crazies, and ridiculous men who behave like children. Stephanie Baswell, a.k.a. Spazwell or Spaz for short, was excited about trying to navigate a new life in Tennessee her way. She's funny, unpredictable, geographically challenged, animated, and terrible at making decisions. All those characteristics combined make up her genuine charm and unique personality. She's the life of the party, a great friend to many, and an enemy of none (who are worth mentioning). She also holds a forgotten old record for the longest keg stand in a college she still owes money to. While that may be impressive to some, it was not setting her dating life up for success. As she sailed through this experiment, she left a few dates on the side of the road both literally and figuratively, and she was always just one mustard-eating redneck away from another relationship misfire. This story takes you through the scenic route of internet dating and the many different culture shocks that come with flipping your life upside down.

There is a recent trend of always believing the woman in sexual matters despite what the facts may reveal. This story reveals how truth is manipulated by many parties with outrageous, harebrained, hateful and herd-mentality brains. For hundreds, even thousands of years, women who were brave enough to bring forward their rape were ignored and cast away with no regard for any facts. Historically, most women who were raped were too frightened and ashamed to admit this act occurred. In wars, this was a rampant problem. All you have to do is read your bible, etc. to see the extent of this problem. Now, if a woman comes forward to report a rape, she is automatically believed and praised for her courageous revelation. From one extreme to the other. From perceived tramps to glorified champs. Again without regard for any facts.Mix some poorly designed laws with some contemptible prosecutors who falsify charges and withhold favorable evidence. Add some police misconduct for falsely arresting innocent citizens. If that wasn't enough, top it all off with unethical actions by soulless school officials who tamper with and destroy evidence. Think about that they are all paid by us to destroy innocent lives for their own glorification. Add a crazy, hateful mother and watch what happens now.

Whether you belong to a particular denomination or nondenominational church, you will benefit from the information in this book, bringing to light the many false teachings within the worldwide church. It is written in simple layman language for any Christian to comprehend.Jesus said: "Beware of false prophets." His warning directly pertains to spiritual deception--a matter of eternal consequence. If you think you couldn't possibly be deceived in such manner, this book is especially for you. The nature of one's own deception is in not knowing they are deceived!
This book tells of the miraculous birth of Jesus, the arrival of the wise men from the east, and how they followed the star to where the young child was two years later. It is the fifth book in the series, Once Upon a Truth, which includes A Whale of a Tale, Fed by Ravens, Sleeping with Lions, and Escape with an Angel. These are true stories from the Bible with wonderful illustrations. This series will help introduce children to the people of the Bible and the miracles that took place. Although this series is focused on attracting children, it is a wonderful way to reach people of all ages. The Holy Bible (KJV) says in Matthew 5:16, "Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
