In this book we were investigating Plastic, Reconstructive and Burn Surgery with a Clinical Approach. There are two main categories of burn surgery: acute and reconstructive. Acute burn care occurs immediately after the injury. It is delivered by a team of trauma surgeons(link is external) (General Surgeons) that specialize in acute burn care. Complex burns often require consultation with plastic surgeons, who assist with the inpatient and outpatient management of these cases. Large burns, or burns of critical body areas, should be treated at a verified burn center, such as the Trauma Burn Center here at the University of Michigan. Many smaller burns can be treated with outpatient options. Some patients may need reconstructive burn surgery after the initial burn wounds have healed. This type of care is usually provided by a plastic surgeon. The goals of reconstructive burn surgery are to improve both the function and the cosmetic appearance of burn scars. This involves altering scar tissue, with both non-operative and operative treatment. The relationship between the burn patient and the reconstructive burn surgeon often lasts many years.
The aim of this project is to measure the absolute activity of short lived isotopes that decay by positive beta particle (¿+). Therefore, the activity of short lived isotope 18F has been measured by three methods. Firstly, it was measured by 4¿ ionization chamber. Secondly, it was measured by detector efficiency method. In this method three NaI (TI) scintillation detectors with different volumes and geometry have been characterized in term of energy response, resolution, efficiency and linearity using calibration sources. Thirdly, it was measured by gamma-gamma coincidence. The experiment designed, constructed and tested a suitable system for measuring low activity samples and 18F preparation was done in the Positron Imaging Centre at Birmingham University.
This study investigates the power of Libyan women within the context of the family in specific areas of Benghazi, Libya. Based on the review of published research about women¿s education, work, legislation and the family structure, three indicators of power were selected: decision making, freedom of movement, and control over income. One of the contributions of the study lies in the fact that as far as I am aware it is the first study in the Arab world to use the research framework of Cromwell and Olson. In spite of the fact that the theoretical framework consists of three main components of power, the study concentrates mainly on outcomes in which power can be measured clearly. The study tackles this component in detail while analyzing data. In fact bases and processes can be manifested through outcome which is the final product of the first two. Furthermore, unlike other similar studies in the Arab world, the study is the first to have employed marital status as an independent variable.
In this book, we are interested in the study of bifurcation solutions of nonlinear wave equation of elastic beams on elastic foundations with small perturbation by using local method of Lyapunov¿Schmidt. Two problems have been studied in this book; the first is to find bifurcation solutions of a boundary value problem and we showed that the bifurcation equation corresponding to the boundary value problem is given by a nonlinear system of two equations. Also, we found the parameters equation of the discriminate set of the specified problem as well as the bifurcation diagram. The second problem is to find bifurcation periodic solutions of an equation, and we showed that the bifurcation equation corresponding to the equation is given by a nonlinear system of four equations. In polar coordinate system, we showed that the bifurcation equation is given by a nonlinear system of two cubic equations.
Hepatitis B is a serious & common infectious disease of the liver, which is a major Public Health Problem, more than two billion alive individuals today have been infected with hepatitis B, and approximately 350 million are chronically infected and high risk for serious illness & death from liver cirrhosis & liver cancer which may be as complications from HBV infection, although 5¿10% of adults infected with HBV will become chronic carriers, neonatal infection almost always leads to a chronic carrier state (90%) whereas 30¿60% of children infected during the first five years of life will become chronic HBV carriers, It is transmitted horizontally by contact with blood or sexual contact & also transmitted vertically from mother to infant. Hepatitis B considered as one of the preventable infectious diseases by effective immunization program, in which the immunization consider the most important tool for hepatitis B prevention, which provide 95% of protection to neonates whose mother is a hepatitis B carrier that if given as soon as after delivery.
