The Pope, devotion to Mary, confession ¿¿ just where are these topics in the Bible? Why does the Catholic Church seem to focus on so many things that aren't Scriptural? Over an eighteen-month spiritual journey, Bergsma was stunned again and again by the biblical support he found for even the stickiest teachings of the Catholic Church. Weaving his personal story into clear explanations of Catholic teachings as found in Scripture, Dr. Bergsma explores seven key Catholic doctrines, including: The Pope Devotion to Mary Confession The Eucharist The priesthood Belief in the Bible alone Salvation by faith alone theologies Stunned by Scripture will help Catholics understand, defend, and explain the biblical basis for the Faith and show them how the Bible solidly supports even the most frequently misunderstood Catholic teachings.

"How do you turn your home into a place where saints are made? By practicing the "little way" of family life at home, every day. "St. Therese of Lisieux's "little way" shows us that we can achieve holiness by performing even the smallest acts with great love. For the family, every day is made up of many, many small acts feeding hungry tummies, comforting a feverish child, getting a squirmy toddler dressed for mass and in each one we have the opportunity to practice mercy and be a living example of how to love and follow God. The Corporal Works of Mommy (And Daddy Too) gives parents practical suggestions, tips, and ideas for ways to practice the corporal works of mercy in the home, and reflection questions for delving deeper into the topics. Each chapter also includes a prayer for God's guidance in our pursuit of the "little way" of the family. Let God set your family ablaze with his love when you practice The Corporal Works of Mommy (And Daddy Too).

In this compelling and timely book, Flynn draws from Scripture, the teachings of the Church, and the Diary of St. Faustina to not only reveal the heart of Divine Mercy, but to offer you an invitation and a road map so that this mercy can transform your life. Best-selling author Vinny Flynn continues his popular "7 Secrets" series with 7 Secrets of Divine Mercy, Second Edition, a book that brings him back to his roots. One of the original editors of the official English edition of the actual Diary of St. Faustina, Vinny has written and edited a vast number of the Divine Mercy materials that are used today. Through his "secrets" of Divine Mercy, Vinny shows how Divine Mercy is not just another worthy "private devotion"; it is the key devotion, the umbrella devotion over everything else. Every other devotion in the Church, every ritual, every activity, every teaching is under that umbrella of Divine Mercy. It's all there to help us understand and enter into Divine Mercy. He shows us how everything in our lives can become more meaningful, more powerful, more life-changing once we really embrace the gift of Divine Mercy - the overflow of love from the Holy Trinity. If you're not yet convinced of the impact Divine Mercy can have on your life, if you've never heard of this message and devotion, or if you're curious to learn more about it, this book is perfect for you. It shows us all how to respond to the call of Pope Francis "to live lives shaped by mercy." Order copies today, for yourself, your family, and friends, and for anyone you know who can teach others about Divine Mercy: priests, deacons, Eucharistic ministers, CCD and RCIA teachers, youth ministers, etc.
""The shepherd cannot run at the first sign of danger."" - Fr. Stanley Francis RotherFr. Stanley Rother was true to his word. He did not run. And was martyred at the age of 46.Fr. Stanley arrived in Guatemala in 1968, and immediately identified with his parishioners' simple, farming lifestyle. He learned their languages, prepared them for the Sacraments, and cared for their needs. Fr. Stanley, or "Padre Francisco" as he was called by his beloved Tz'utujil Indians, had found his heart's calling. After nearly a decade, the violence of the Guatemalan civil war found its way into the peaceful village. Disappearances, killings, and danger became daily occurrences, but despite this unrest Fr. Stanley remained hard at work, building a farmer's co-op, a school, a hospital, and the first Catholic radio station, used for catechesis. In early 1981, his name was on a death list, so he returned to Oklahoma and was warned not to return. But he could not abandon his people, so he went back, and made the ultimate sacrifice for his faith. "Pray for us that we may be a sign of the love of Christ for our people," said Fr. Stanley, "that our presence among them will fortify them to endure these sufferings in preparation for the coming of the Kingdom."
