An accountant searching for clues to wrongdoing in a company's books? An archangel arriving just in time to help save her life? A licensed minister and an MBA in accounting coming together to cowrite this novel? No, Snare of the Fowler is a wild ride that is definitely not your typical thriller. It is so much more...Imani Richards, a forensic accountant, is on the job of a lifetime: consulting with the FBI on an investigation into a pharmaceutical company that may be involved in drug trafficking and money laundering. Then everything goes sideways. The FBI's suspicions seem to be confirmed when Imani's life is threatened, more than once. Someone is clearly trying to scare her off the case. Desperate, Imani recites a powerful prayer of protection, Psalm 91, that she learned as a child. And it works! More than that, this thriller takes a sharp, exciting turn, as Imani learns that this scripture has unlocked a power within her-and she discovers a supernatural destiny no one could have believed possible. Two Lemon Women are the coauthors of Snare of the Fowler and use their unique professional experience-one as a minister and the other as an accountant-to shape this powerful page-turner. More than a work of fiction, the novel presents to readers the possibility that we can all have supernatural powers if we learn to tap into the right power source.

BLACK WAVES OF SENJAKALA, is the story of an American Eurasian graduate student, Kirana Nindita, who has taken a leave of absence from her university and traveled to Indonesia to become in engaged in anthropological fieldwork in a remote and dangerous area. A chance meeting has led to Kirana moving to Indonesia to study the language and prepare for her challenging assignment. As the novel opens, Kirana is in jungly East Java; by that night, she has journeyed to Bali, to meet her employer, Kamolmal Sceve: in person, the plan being that Kirana will then immediately depart for the extreme eastern region of Indonesia. Kirana accepts a challenging anthropological task in Maluku Tengara, the Southern Moluccas, which islands once struck fear in the hearts of the Dutch colonials, who had tried to seize them 300 years earlier. By 1974, not much had changed. Isolated animistic societies with intricate beliefs and strange rituals are what Kirana has been sent to study and draw images of. She is to be well-paid, it is dangerous work, it will be a feather in her cap when she returns to graduate school. However, her employer has a very dubious reputation among the long-term, seasoned, and hip Bali residents Kirana happens to know. All of them urgently dissuade her from setting out on this journey: she would be nothing more than a plum to be swiped and sold out there. In the 1970s, following the immense political upheavals in Indonesia in the 1960s, all outer parts of the country were closed to tourism. Journalists sneaking out there were shot: a permission letter from Jakarta was essential. There was no tourist industry among these thousands of islands, back in time, some still upset about the Japanese occupation of World War 2. An older gentleman, a trusted friend, tries to stop her from going. Good luck, this young lady means business, off she goes. Alone, she traverses wild, tangled West Bali, on foot, and boards a questionable tramp steamer on the north coast. This is where the juggernaut she is unkheading into starts: she gets on the wrong boat. This boat is sunk by pirates off Komodo, and Kirana, goes through a chaotic escape that leaves her circling her death on the edge of a huge whirlpool, from which she is rescued at the last instant. Thereafter she is taken way off the beaten path, down to Sumba Island, with unsavory people eager to see an animistic horse-and-spear battle called Pasola. Kirana has an unnerving long journey on Sumba; and during this time she begins to learn that she going to have to fight to be left alone every second, that she will have to see things coming, and that she will not have the luxury of getting tired and wearing out; because the science of survival in unregulated outlands is unceasingly threatening, even worse in a war zone; and the pressing of tasks, solving of problems is never-ending. From Sumba she is 'rescued' onto another coastal chugger, which hauls her from the lowest latitude of Indonesia, way up into the ocean expanse of the Central Moluccas, where she is imprisoned in a fugitive port for use of the men. Thereafter Kirana is forced to nearly prehistoric Wetar, and here the intensity of a tough story goes up about four levels; next, to war-torn East Timor; and into the turquoise coastal waters of Irian Jaya, where just as her end seems certain, the odds suddenly swing in her favor, and she is lifted out of an ordeal so relentless and harsh she could never have imagined it.

Is there anything more to be said about Sha'ul and specifically about his letter to the Galatians? Does it represent a break with and an abandonment of the Hebrew way - i.e., of Torah? Book description: Taking a layman's look, from a Hebrew Messianic perspective, at the epistle written by a Hebrew of Hebrews, a founding member of the Messianic sect and a practitioner of the Hebrew way. Did this Hebrew cease being Hebrew? Did he start a new religion? Did he reject the laws, covenants, charges? Does his epistle to the Galatians - his very first letter - promulgate a rejection of the Hebrew way? About what is this somewhat brief letter (epistle)? Let us take another look at the Epistle to the Galatians - a Hebrew sect. Sales pitch: Sometimes, a gem is hidden under man-made teachings that are inherited and commonly accepted beliefs put forward as truths. Let us for a moment revisit Sha'ul's letter sitting in the pew.

To many people, Thomas Hunt would be the most unlikely of leaders. After all, he's that guy they pass without noticing-he's just another poor soul living on the street, invisible to most others as they go about their own busy lives. But Thomas is not an ordinary man down on his luck. Quite the opposite. Christ has anointed him to be his last prophet on earth before he comes again. E. O. Shiflett's Son of Enoch: The Last Prophet is the story of one man fighting against the odds to disrupt the current power structure and replace humanity's hopeless outlook with Jesus's all-encompassing love. Will Thomas succeed, not just in his spiritual battle but in the war he finds himself in against the faceless foe with unlimited resources that wants and needs the status qua to remain the same?Though Son of Enoch shares similarities with books such as the Left Behind series, Shiflett wrote this faith-based novel primarily as a love story-and in doing so, shares God's love for all.

A school psychologist has been living a great life-his personal and professional adventures are fulfilling, and he believes only blue skies are on the horizon. And then, while enjoying a do-it-yourself project, he is stricken abruptly with bizarre and painful intrusive thoughts he's never known before. Unable to find relief, he sees a psychiatrist and then volunteers to enter a mental health clinic. He is diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).More than regaining control over his own mental health, he sets out on a path to change the way society perceives OCD and treats it. He connects with a neurosurgeon, and their work together has a significant impact on the treatment of OCD worldwide.Researcher Cal Richard wrote the novel Curing the OCD Mind for those suffering from this cruel and disabling mental disorder, but also health care professionals working with them-psychiatrists, psychologists, psychoanalysts, psychotherapists, neurosurgeons, primary care physicians, clinicians, counselors, K-12 educators, therapists, and OCD foundations. Richard hopes this unique approach-fiction built on over four decades of study-will help convey the book's message perhaps even more than a purely academic book would. He believes that the current treatment for OCD is flawed, offering false hope, and he hopes Curing the OCD Mind will show just that: that OCD isn't just manageable but curable.

"Word Paintings" is the direct result of a collaboration between a friend and me. We got bored one night, and invented our unusual word game. The object was to give each other a single word, and to write a story around it. Many of mine became romance stories, and many of hers had a distinct science fiction flavor. We both added poetry, and I added essays as well. The game gave us both the incentive to keep writing, separate from the "paintings." While we initially did not want to share the stories with our families or the public, we realized that was more foolish than not. It's very hard to get published, so why not share them? I even put some of my stories on fan fiction sites, and got some very favorable reviews! Some readers were very amused, and others asked me to continue the storylines, which I did. Quite a few of my other writings are included in this volume, and I hope you have as much fun reading them as I had writing them.

Richard Allan "Rick" Noble spent most of his career in publishing, although not as an author. Always a history buff, Rick became interested in the Civil War when he lived in Louisville, Kentucky. Several readers of initial drafts of King Cotton suggested that it must have been difficult weaving a story through so many facts, real people, and actual places, dates, and events during that impossibly difficult chapter in America's past. But Rick found the opposite. He knew the story he wanted to tell, and the events of the period provided a framework upon which to build it. Some of the real-life characters in the book will be familiar to all - Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, Robert E. Lee, Mathew Brady, Harriet Tubman, P.T. Barnum, James Wilkes Booth, Allan Pinkerton, and Mary Surratt, for example. Others less so, such as Kate Warne, Anna Surratt, John Surratt Junior, Chang & Eng Bunker, "Peanut" Burroughs, Rose O'Neal Greenhow, and John Beam. But all existed, as did the songs, guns, and places mentioned herein. The battles and other events (like the recovery of Lee's Special Order 191 and the visit to New York City by the Russian Navy) also really happened. Readers are encouraged to look things up if in doubt, or curious for more. The internet makes doing so about as easy as it can get. Our protagonist, John "Jack" Bailey, is entirely fictitious, as are his father, co-workers Elkins and Dawson, and a few other minor characters. The causes of certain true-life happenings in the book are still debated today, such as who shot Lincoln's hat off outside Soldier's Cottage a few months before he was assassinated, or how the devastating fire in Columbia, SC really got started. King Cotton offers some answers on those fronts, although highly speculative ones that involve Bailey. This book is not meant to be a treatise on the horrors of slavery, although it would be impossible to cover the Civil War without that topic rearing its ugly head. Nor is it meant to be an exhaustive text on all the battles of that war, but those covered are done so accurately, if briefly. The newspaper quotes are all accurate, verified through NewsBank, a company that has digitized thousands of newspapers and other primary source materials dating back several hundred years. Photography plays a major role in King Cotton, and the Civil War was one of the first conflicts ever covered by that medium. If you've seen even a few photographs from that era, you have almost certainly looked upon the work of Mathew Brady, Alexander Gardner, and/or Timothy O'Sullivan, all of whom are mentioned in the book. Some of their photographs are included, courtesy of the Library of Congress and its excellent collections. Again there are many more available on the internet and the same is true of battle and other maps that readers might find useful. This book is about a man's personal journey through a gruesome war as he tries to salvage his business, steer clear of trouble, and avoid responsibility - all while seeking personal gain and entertainment wherever he can find it. As a result of his experiences, however, a higher set of moral standards and a better appreciation of how others view the world evolve within him. King Cotton is also about an industry and a product that, at the time, countries were willing to fight wars over. Cotton was the oil or rare earth mineral of the day.

How do organizations and individuals respond to adverse changes challenging established definitions of success and fulfillment. In 2017, after more than 18 months of battling mysterious medical symptoms, Troy Cook heard the words of extreme life change; "You have Young Onset Parkinson's Disease." For years, Troy asked questions of successful companies and fulfilled individuals to identify commonalities. He had presented the common traits and characteristics to audiences for years. He told stories of success. Now, at the age of 48, in the middle of a successful career, and reaching many of his lifelong goals, Troy was faced with the inevitable change of life. Having to now "walk the talk" he had been presenting to others, Troy became a part of the story. The learnings over the five year period outlined in this book solidify the validity of the common traits Troy identified from the many stories and examples of fulfilled and successful companies and entities. As Troy moves through this journey of diagnosis and adjustment, he began to rely on the title of the book, Change is Inevitable, Growth is Optional. We learn finding growth from adverse change requires the application of a unique process, common traits, and developed skills.Troy provides stories from several individuals and organizations walking through delicate times of adversity. With core examples of a highly successful football coach, several organizations, a former Navy Seal, and many others, the reader finds themselves with great and realistic examples of the common traits of these stories. Identifying the change by stepping back from the situation or resetting is the beginning of the journey. Knowing how to identify change and communicating the recognition of such change are wrapped into the lessons from Troy's personal story. Defining success on our terms is a constant and important theme throughout the book. Avoiding societal defaults of defining success, mission and vision create the most impactful stories of success. These examples are not just from the most famous we know, but from the everyday individuals we most want to learn from and emulate. However, we must understand the need to apply those learning and traits to our definition of success in our world. This is true of both companies and individuals. Having wisdom in the face of change is also identified as a necessity to finding growth in adverse change. Defining wisdom as information, knowledge and experience of both us and other's experience, wisdom allows for an easier recognition of the potential pathway for growth. Dedication to adapting, adjusting and repeating are essential elements in recognizing "Change is Inevitable." Without compromising the mission of an organization or individual, constant change requires us to adjust to find our new pathways to grow and affect our mission. Lastly, those who experience the highest levels of success have a passion or love for their mission. They embrace each day with a conditioned response to "love like a dog." This book provides the needed examples of both Troy's own experience and the many other stories providing for laughter, inspiration, dedication, and hope to face the adverse situations in life with a zest for growth.
