--Santiago Posteguillo ENGLISH DESCRIPTION William Shakespeare's classic tragic play The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. Julius Caesar is the ultimate story of political intrigue, ambition, betrayal, and the fall of the Roman Republic. It is one of several plays written by Shakespeare based on true events from Roman history, such as Coriolanus and Antony and Cleopatra. The year is 44 BC and Julius Caesar is at the height of his powers. The play depicts the moral dilemma of Brutus as he joins a conspiracy formed by a group of Roman senators who realize that in order for the republic to be saved, they must murder Julius Caesar and prevent him from becoming dictator of Rome. But the senators have different motives: some are spurred on by envy of Caesar's greatness and others, by their patriotism and love for Rome. Unwittingly, they set the course for one of the bloodiest civil wars in history and the eventual collapse of the great Roman republic. Although the play is named Julius Caesar, Brutus speaks more than four times as many lines as the title character; and the central psychological drama of the play focuses on Brutus' struggle between the conflicting demands of honor, patriotism, and friendship. In the remarkable prologue written for this edition, novelist and English literature expert Santiago Posteguillo highlights the full legitimacy of this piece in which the exercise of authority calls for the worst political excesses.

It first appeared in serialized form in 1897, published simultaneously in Pearson's Magazine in the UK and Cosmopolitan magazine in the US. The first appearance in book form was published by William Heinemann of London in 1898. It is the first-person narrative of an unnamed protagonist in Surrey and that of his younger brother in London as Earth is invaded by Martians. Written between 1895 and 1897, it is one of the earliest stories that detail a conflict between mankind and an extraterrestrial race. The novel is one of the most commented-on works in the science fiction canon. The War of the Worlds has two parts, Book One: The Coming of the Martians and Book Two: The Earth under the Martians. The narrator, a philosophically inclined author, struggles to return to his wife while seeing the Martians lay waste to the southern country outside London. Book One also imparts the experience of his brother, also unnamed, who describes events as they deteriorate in the capital, forcing him to escape the Martian onslaught by boarding a paddle steamer near Tillingham, on the Essex coast. The plot has been related to invasion literature of the time. The novel has been variously interpreted as a commentary on evolutionary theory, British Imperialism, and generally Victorian superstitions, fears and prejudices. At the time of publication it was classified as a scientific romance, like his earlier novel The Time Machine. The War of the Worlds has been both popular (having never gone out of print) and influential, spawning half a dozen feature films, radio dramas, a record album, various comic book adaptations, a television series, and sequels or parallel stories by other authors. It has even influenced the work of scientists, notably Robert Hutchings Goddard.

Personajes del mundo hebreo y cristiano muy conocidos como Adán, Noé, Abraham, Moisés, Jesús de Nazaret y Juan Bautista aparecen mencionados como profetas islámicos.ENGLISH DESCRIPTIONThe Qur'an, believed by Muslims to be the word of God, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad 1400 years ago.
