The Magical Knowledge trilogy is a collection of work by Josephine McCarthy written between 2009 and 2011, originally presented in three paperback volumes as Magical Knowledge I Foundations, Magical Knowledge II The Initiate, and Magical Knowledge III Contacts of the Adepts. It is now presented as a large complete paperback collection for the first time. The three individual volumes are still available in their second edition paperback form published by TaDehent Books. The Magical Knowledge Trilogy is a series that takes the reader through the twists and turns of serious magical study and practice. Written by Josephine McCarthy, one of the world's leading magical adepts, The Magical Knowledge Trilogy covers the necessary skills, contacts, and practices for lone magical practitioners studying and working within Western magic. It is a sampling of the teaching and magical work undertaken by the author over a twenty-year period, reaching from the early stages of magical practice right up to the adept level of work, and is designed for the lone practitioner. The writing of this collection signalled a turning point in McCarthy's work, as it began to develop more towards the in-depth training of magicians, which eventually manifested in the form of Quareia: an open source magical training course of unparalleled depth and scope. The trilogy covers magical advice, techniques for ritual, visionary work, utterance, divination, and sigil-making, and includes essays on the history of magic and a look at the mythic storytelling tradition. Josephine McCarthy is a Western magical adept living in the Southwest of England. An esoteric practitioner, teacher, and author, she has written over thirty books on magical theory and practice, including The Exorcist's Handbook, Magic of the North Gate, The Book of Gates - a Magical Translation, and Tarot Skills for the 21st Century. Josephine has taught extensively in the USA and UK since the early 1990s, and has lectured at various occult, esoteric, and hermetic conferences in the UK and USA. She is the designer and book author for the LXXXI Quareia Magician's Deck (2014 Quareia Publishing UK), produced with artists Stuart Littlejohn and Cassandra Beanland. McCarthy is also the author of Quareia, an extensive, in-depth, open source online training course in the theory, practice, and history of Western magic, which seeks to move Western magical practice into a deeper, more cooperative relationship with nature and the environment.
Rosicrucian Magic is a book of magical reformation that lays a path of contact with spirits and beings through a lens of integrity. Drawing upon wisdom and knowledge from the ancient world through to eighteenth century influences and beyond, Frater Acher takes us on a journey of discovery on Becoming Alike to the Angelic Mind as originally articulated by Johannes Trithemius. Frater Acher draws deeply from decades of experience as a practitioner and researcher of Western Magic to teach the reader how to unlock mystical texts and magical ritual. Rosicrucian Magic illuminates a path through the Mysteries and highlights how spirit communion evolves to become an everyday practice rooted in experience, ethics, knowledge and wisdom. At the heart of the book, and for the first time in English language, Frater Acher presents a full translation and in-depth analysis of a forgotten high-degree ritual from the famous Order of the Golden and Rosy Cross. The occult artist José Gabriel Alegría Sabogal contributes beautiful new original illustrations, and has painstakingly restored the ritual's secret seal, a central symbol of mystical mediation. Frater Acher is a lone practitioner of the magical and mystical path. He studied Western Ritual Magic in theory and practice at I.M.B.O.L.C. and has been actively involved in magic for more than twenty years. In 2009 he started the now hugely popular theomagica.com a website dedicated to magical practice, knowledge and insights. In 2020 he founded Paralibrum together with Frater U¿D¿ and he continues to be an active collaborator of Quareia Magical Training. He is best known for the Holy Daimon cycle, published in three volumes with Scarlet Imprint between 2018 to 2021. Earlier this year he released 'Clavis Goêtica' (Hadean Press 2021) with artistic collaborator José Gabriel Algría Sabogal, which can be considered a companion volume to the present book. Frater Acher holds an MA in Communications Science, Intercultural Communications and Psychology as well as certifications in Systemic Coaching and Gestalt Therapy. Frater Acher is a German national, and after several years of living abroad, he is now resident in Munich, Germany.

Magic of the North Gate: Powers of the Land, the Stones, and the Ancients takes a highly original and detailed look at the magic that involves the land, the body, the living, and the dead. Written by one of the world's leading adepts who specializes in magic and the environment, Magic of the North Gate offers occultists, pagans, witches, and environmental magicians many powerful, natural, and interesting ways to magically connect with the land and nature. This book moves away from a heavily ritualized system of magic, and instead delves into the powers that flow all around us: the winds, the power of the land, the voices of the dead, and the many spirits that we find in nature. It introduces the concept of fellowship and cooperation with nature, and offers detailed insight into the practicalities of making friends with the landscapes that surround us.Magic of the North Gate takes us on a journey through earth magic. It covers methods for working with land spirits and faery beings, as well as for building nature shrines, living in a magical home, working with the magical elements, and connecting with ancient burials. The book also reaches deeper into nature magic, looking at the powers of creation and destruction, the weaving of power and fate, and how to connect to, and work with, storms.AuthorJosephine McCarthy is a Western magical adept living in the Southwest of England. An esoteric practitioner, teacher, and author, she has written twenty-six books on the theory and practice of Western magic, and four works of magical fiction. Josephine has taught extensively in the USA and UK since the early 1990s, and has lectured at various occult, esoteric, and hermetic conferences in the UK and USA.Her work has always put particular emphasis on the magician's relationship with the land and the environment. More recently her research interests have expanded into the magical analysis of New Kingdom Egyptian funerary texts, exploring their living use and working with their deities as forces of nature. She is also the author of Quareia, an extensive, in-depth, open source online training course in the theory, practice, and history of Western magic, which seeks to move Western magical practice into a deeper, more cooperative relationship with nature.
Sacred Women: Images of Power and Wisdom is a treasure house of art dedicated to the feminine power. Each artwork is intended to be savoured not just for its inherent beauty but also as sacred art. A full colour collection of paintings by the renowned British artist Stuart Littlejohn, this book serves as a celebration of all that is great yet ignored, of all that is powerful yet shunned, from goddesses to warriors, from mystics to the mythic. Each painting is presented as a full-page image and is accompanied by some brief information about the mythology, history, or legend surrounding the character represented. This is intended to provide a basic understanding of the painting's background, imagery, and symbolism, and to act as an entry point for the reader's further research. This is a special book to be appreciated over time; it may also act as breviary, and even as part of a devotional service to the living Goddess in her myriad and age-old forms. It is true to say this is a two-way encounter, for, as She rises from forgotten history to meet us by our act of remembrance, we her followers and devotees (regardless of gender) will surely rise with Her.As one of a dedicated group of magical artists, Stuart Littlejohn slakes the modern pagan Renaissance's thirst for pictorial imagery. While icons and devotional images in Western art act as a living conduit to reach out and touch the Divine in material form, they also remind us of a lost tradition of painted and sculptural effigies of ancient pagan goddesses and gods. Sacred images do have an extra dimension: they spring from artists' imaginations, yet they are so powerful and arresting that they feel more than merely the creations of gifted individuals. From the beginning, the constant thread woven deeply throughout my work has been the depiction of powerful females from the religions, mythologies, and histories of many eras and cultures. For millennia, the images of female divinity, the visions of female philosophers, priestesses, seers, saints, and mystics, and the achievements of female rulers, warriors, artists, and scientists, have been suppressed, dismissed, and ignored. Such disregard for the wisdom and talents of over half our population has had, and continues to have, a disastrous effect on our evolution as a species. In the times through which we are now living, it is vitally important that these marginalized images and long-silenced voices be heard anew. As a male artist, I see my role as helping to illuminate a hidden counternarrative. It is my small contribution against the destructive tides of misogyny and hate flowing through the world.- Stuart Littlejohn
Jacob's Rod is a digitally enhanced facsimile of a late seventeenth century text detailing the art and methods of dowsing with traditional hazel rods. It was translated from the original French into English by Thomas Welton in 1870 and was presented at the time as 'a rare and curious work dated a.d.1693 on the arte of finding springs, mines, and minerals by means of the hazel rod.'Dowsing is a fast-disappearing art form that has been used by traditional cunning folks, farmers, miners, and folk magicians for hundreds of years in Europe, and Jacob's Rod is a voice from the distant past sending forth their knowledge into the future. It is a rare gem for anyone interested in folk traditions, folk magic, or the arte of the traditional English country Charmers or Cunning folks.Jacob's Rod is presented with an in-depth foreword by Michael Sheppard.
Cyprian of Antioch: a Mage of Many Faces is a detailed analysis of some of the lesser-known strands of myth, history, evidence, and magical hearsay that surround the enigmatic Cyprian of Antioch. It moves beyond the well-known territory of St. Cyprian and peers into some of the more hidden areas of the Mage's history and legend, unearthing a complex and beautiful path that leads, ultimately, back to one man."The story of Cyprian first cast its shadow over the world of fourth-century Christendom. And though this world was quickly sanitized, Cyprian's shadow stuck fast, a mixture of pitch and ashes, and ever since then it has stayed with us in our history of the Magical West."In his well-known and highly articulate voice, Frater Acher takes us on a magical journey where we visit hidden shrines and tombs in Rome. He narrates for us the first English translation of a little-known Germany fairy tale by Theodor Storm, and he shows us lost fragments of folk magic. He takes us diving into the Greek Magical Papyri, and together, we circle in ever decreasing circles in the maze of history that leads us face to face with Cyprian of Antioch: magician, holy man, seer, healer and patron of magic.Featuring full-colour images of rarely seen locations, artefacts, and iconography, and an exclusive icon of Cyprian of Antioch by magical artist Stuart Littlejohn, this cloth hardbound presentation, complete with dust jacket, is a rich, beautiful, and intelligent look at our distant magical, mystical, and religious past. Written for practitioners, historians, and students of Western magic, mysticism, and esoteric Christianity, this book, while careful and rigorous in its approach, detailed in its analysis, and strongly referenced, is nevertheless highly accessible, and an absolutely fascinating read.Contents include: Cyprian the ancient-from Antioch to Rome; Cyprian of Two Worlds-the Oratio Cypriani; Cyprian of Folk Magic-the Mirror of Cyprianus; Cyprian of the Mysteries-the Many Faces of Divination; Cyprian of Cyprus-the great Female Divine; as well as a preface, introduction, afterword, and full bibliography.About the AuthorFrater Acher is the author of theomagica.com as well as a friend and collaborator of Quareia Magical Training. Quareia - a New School of Magic for the 21st CenturyQuareia the Adept is a hardback edition of the complete Adept section of the Quareia magical training. The book itself is a large A4 book with 918 pages and weighs in at 5.2lbs (2.4 kilos). The course is spread over three sections: Apprentice, Initiate, and Adept. Each section has ten modules, and each module has eight lessons. Each of the three sections is approximately five hundred thousand words: it is the most extensive, in-depth, and intelligent up to date magical course that is currently available worldwide. The methods, information and techniques in the course enable the magician to engage any form of magic and work with it appropriately with the full knowledge of how that magic works, why it works and what is behind it. It also guides the magician along the mystical path, a path that reaches beyond religions and faith, and one where the adept moves into mystical union with the universe around them. The modules of the Adept section teach about topics including: Adept Exorcism, Planetary Power, Advanced Magical Patterns, Magical Construction, Advanced Death and the Underworld, Working with Power, Teaching Methods, and Becoming the Adept. By the end of this section, the Adept will have all of the skills, knowledge and strength to step out into the world as a fully trained Adept. The Quareia course is written in its entirety by magical adept and the Director of Quareia, Josephine McCarthy. Josephine has been involved in magic for forty years and has been teaching and writing about magic for over twenty five years. She is considered a revolutionizing force in the teaching of western magic, and one of the most prominent adepts of western magic alive today.Quareia is a school that is open to anyone, and is free and accessible online at any time. It is a school that is entirely focused on teaching the most essential skills in magic, with unknown precision and depth in its materials. Yet it is free from any specific one style or specific religious overlay: various styles and religious patterns are studied and at times worked with in depth, but there is no one creed, culture or system that forms the foundation basis of the training: it is itself.
The Apprentice section of the Quareia course has no mentoring, which makes it themost difficult part of the magical training to complete. The Quareia Apprentice StudyGuide is aimed at people studying the Quareia Magical Course. It provides answers to basic questions, details the structure and approach of thecourse, examines some of the common training issues, and explains the coreconcepts presented in the course. The Quareia Apprentice Study Guide is aimed at apprentices who are studying thecourse: it shines lights into the less obvious corners of magical training to help guideyou along your magical path.
