Of course, Christians have a crisis! As human beings, we are surrounded by temptation, we all make mistake and we all suffer with trials in our lives. Unfortunately, there are well-intended Christians who attempt to minister to those suffering or in crisis without realizing how their words of wisdom could actually be counterproductive and potentially harmful. This book is a resource for ministry leaders, parents, teachers, and caregivers regarding mental illness, chronic pain abortion, abuse, and addictions. It also covers marital and family issues. There are facts included throughout the book to reveal the prevalence of each topic and listed resources to increase knowledge in those areas. Scripture is included throughout the book to provide solid Christian counsel through each topic. If someone came up to you today to reveal they are considering suicide or that they are addicted to porn or prescribed drugs, would you know what to say to them? What if someone wants to talk to you because they believe their spouse is having an affair, or a mother believes her child is being molested or bullied, or their adult child is being abused by their spouse? Would you know how to advise them? Are your words subjective? Are they productive? Are your words factual and scriptural? As a church, we need to teach that Christ is a loving and forgiving God. We need to have compassion for the misunderstood. As a church, we need to be knowledgeable of current fads, and common problems in societies and families so we know how to respond to crises appropriately. As a church, we need to encourage as a safe environment for those in need. We need to minister to people with open minds and open hearts. And we need to know when it is time to reach out for professional help.

For more than three decades Jimmy McPhail has listened with an ear of disbelief as minority victims and witnesses shared their stories. While the plot and the characters changed, the theme always remained the same. Themes of injustice, hatred and discrimination were the three most reoccurring themes. From verbal and physical abuse, workplace discrimination and even police brutality, the residents of LaGrange have seen it all. Some have been threatened, others beaten, and a few killed. For far too many years, these people have been the recipients of unfair and unjust treatment. Many of them are now dead and gone, yet their stories live on. The Streets of LaGrange is a compilation of their delicate and intricately woven stories.

I must have read somewhere that art equals pain; reworked, revised improved upon, but pain nonetheless. A means of expressing the anguish and innermost jot or fury of the one so improverished. The perpetual flowing from a seemingly endless source of pathos.A relentless well-spring of:Guile and GuiltFervor and SplendorTremor and HopeA truly cleansing and uplifting experience. If poetry can be considered art, then I offer my art for your perusal and publication.

Who was Jesus? A bishop recently used His biography to illustrate a good theological point when he described Him as 'an uneducated man from Nazareth, son of a poor carpenter named Joseph who preached in several synagogues'.The implication is that all the wisdom Jesus exhibits comes from God who would surely have informed Him of modern technology, whereas Jesus clearly demonstrates a detailed knowledge of Alexandrine philosophy. Then why would a poor carpenter make a long journey to Bethlehem to register for Roman taxation? The Roman taxation system depended upon identifying wealth and grabbing a portion of it.In this book we try to answer these conundrums by looking at the New Testament and attempting to separate myth from history. We arrive at the almost inevitable conclusion that Jesus was the son of Joseph of Arimathea, a wealthy merchant of Alexandria, received His education at the best of institutions of the time and married Mary Magdalene to qualify to speak in a synagogue. We use the text of the King James version and try to compare different accounts of the same incidents to see how the Christian Church came to be.

This book is for all my fellow teachers out there who enjoy poetry and believe their students will become better writers if they keep practicing. Here are hundreds of ideas to stimulate your student's imaginations; students who are often willing to write, but don't have a clue what to write about. These ideas will give them a place to start. Poetry works well for engaging student writers because it is challenging and yet flexible. There are so many types and styles of poems they can experience. There's also a lot of leeway in terms of punctuation, idioms and slang, and how the words appear on the page.Poetry lends itself to success. Anyone can do it and it's personal; it comes from the students' experiences and emotions. It's subjective; the sort of writing to be appreciated rather than judged. The emphasis in this book is "students as poets." It's not about studying the famous poets who have gone before. It's about finding a love for expressing yourself that can last a lifetime.

TRUE TO HIS WORD, Joseph Horn Cloud presented White Bird to the Pine Ridge Indian Council for a Trial on Behalf of the four soldiers. Their verdict, which Joseph and his brother feared, was a lifetime ban from the Sioux Nation and all its followers. It was to commence in ten days, White Lance and his brother had expected a similar fate for their younger brother, but not one of that length.Their parting was one of sadness. They loved their white brother and would miss him forever. but they knew in their heart that this was just verdict and not as great as the court in Santa Barbara had pronounced.White Bird vowed to his brother that he would devote the remainder of his life to being a good man and one they could be proud of. He spent the next week in meditation at his parents' grave and at the monument at Wounded Knee. He then left the area and headed south toward Sidney. He found Rosita Riley in a dirty saloon on the outskirts of the town and asked her to forgive him. He learned that he had a son who was four years old.He told her what he'd done and what the verdict laid down by the Pine Ridge Council was. He told her he was still hunted by the authorities, but if she and the child were willing, he would marry her and take then with him. "Jacob, we've had a miserable existence the last three years, but I don't know if I can trust you. You left me once; why wouldn't you do it you?""I understand your reluctance, but I'm a difference man today and I promised my brothers that I would be a good man. My name is not Jacob Light; it's Raymond O' Caliegh. I researched records of the many wagon trains that were lost and found out who my real parents were."

I made this book to show you that sometimes, bad things happen and it can feel like they only happen to you or make you feel alone. I want to encourage you to find places where you feel safe and to know that feelings are an important part of growing up. Sometimes really terrible things happen and sometimes it feels terrible and it really isn't that bad. What is important is to know that you matter, and what you see, and experience matters. You have a right to tell your story. If you are not comfortable telling your story to someone who is safe and can help you then you can paint or draw to feel better.I am so happy to share the story of Skyflower Izfree with you. I hope you like her, and enjoy her story of how she got her horse. I grew up in a time and place where I was the only child with one parent who was from America and one who was from Egypt, in Africa. I was bullied because of that, so I want kids that have parents who might seem different, for any reason of kids who feel different or kids who are bullied, for having something that makes them different, to know that "different is good".I also want kids to know that they have a right to talk about things that makes them feel scared and that is okay to talk about fighting, and make more peace in the world.

A Friend is something Special because Jesus calls us His Friend. John 15:13 says "Greater Love hath no man that he lay down his life for his Friends." In the book of John 15:14 Jesus said "Ye are my Friends if ye do whatsoever I command you." Apostle Dr. Elbert Bolden is my friend. Over 20 years ago he followed the instructions of GOD that prophesied that I would someday have a ministry serving the Lord. Due to the friendship; mentorship, leadership and guidance of Apostle Dr. Elbert Bolden this prophecy has come to pass.

Forty years ago, the Holy Spirit told Harlan Legare, "If you study, I will teach you." With that promise came a great love for God's prophetic word. The teaching of the Holy Spirit began with an understanding of the prophecies of Daniel, the key to understanding the words of many of the other prophets, especially those of Zachariah and those of John in the book of Revelation. Here are just a few of the many mysteries of prophecy revealed in The Mystery of Prophecy: The Secrets of Daniel that were revealed to Harlan by the Holy Spirit through those years: The time of the Rapture within the schedule of events of the coming days The marvelous truth of the days of 1335, the beginning of birth pangs of the rebirth of the nation of Israel. The real identity of the infamous head of the beast that was wounded unto death by the sword. Proof that the Antichrist will not rule the world. The key to the mystery of Babylon the Great and the scarlet-colored beast she rides. The origin of the Antichrist. The true purpose for the existence of the Red Dragon with seven heads and ten horns. A complete interpretation of the Beast from the Sea with its seven heads and ten horns. The exact date of the crucifixion of Jesus. The exact day of Artaxerxes's command to restore and to build Jerusalem. The very place where Israel was to flee for the 1,260 days of protection. Revealing of the identity of the coming King of the North. The event that begins the 2300 evenings and mornings. Why God sealed the book of Daniel.

"This adventure tale delivers a strong cast of unusual characters whose lives intersect in Chicago and take them across the Pacific to Vietnam and Cambodia. Weaving together ancient Southeast Asian legend, American military involvement in Vietnam, and Chicago entrepreneurship in the late eighties, the scope is ambitious and the result rewarding. Intelligent female and male leads must trust each other as they pursue a lost treasure and a medieval culture to which their newest friend is the royal heir. Sexy and suspenseful, I can't wait for the sequel." D. Mercer"If you are looking for action and adventure, danger and romance, this book is for you. I was especially stricken by the beautiful word pictures which made me feel as though I were really there with the characters, whether in the jungles of Vietnam or wending my way throught the concrete jungle of Chicago. This literature is well worth your time and be prepared for a heart pumping experience!"S. Reynolds

The main character in this book, a true, real-life person, was an unassuming man brought up in a large, working class family. His life would begin in 1918 and he and his family would survive the depression on near poverty wages. He would go on to serve as a decorated airman in World War II and come home to restart his life suffering from PTSD. With that, life would deal him many adversities and challenges, many of them self-inflicted, but each time he would overcome. He would struggle with the effects of combat on civilian life and would use alcohol to substitute for counseling much to his dismay. Tilly as he was called by his wartime air crew, returned home and went back to work to put the war behind him and get on with life. He would have a family of his own, raising three children on near poverty wages and suffered from alcoholism and depression most his life while his family suffered the effects of life's challenges. Much later in life, he began talking about his wartime experiences and this would help him to readjust to life as he knew it. However, returning to alcohol would bring him and his family hardships that would be difficult to reconcile. Every person who served in a combat role feels the effects of war and deals with those effects in varying degrees of tolerance. Many returning veterans restore their lives and go on to become productive members of society, but never forgetting their combat experiences. Many go on to college and become successful professionals in their fields of endeavor and lose the effects of war it would seem.
