When most people think about the cross, different images come to mind. Nails. A crown of thorns. Three crosses side by side on the hill of Golgotha. But what about shadows? What can shadows teach us about Christ's death and what it means to us today? There have been many books written on the cross, most of which are based on what we read in the New Testament, but in this book, author Gary D. Hines takes readers on a journey to enlighten the ways that the cross is actually seen in shadows throughout the scriptures of the Old Testament, teaching us lessons about what was to come. Shadows of the Cross is an inspiring book which delves deep into the message of the cross and its lasting power in today's world. The book deals with different biblical accounts of individuals who benefited from the cross and what we can learn from their experiences, even though they may be shadows of what we understand on this side of the cross. While studying readings from the Old Testament, Gary began to see insights as to the power of the cross from shadows/types, and through further study and reflection, he began to share his findings with others. Applying these principles has been a blessing to his life and ministry, especially in counseling people, and through this work, he now brings that journey to readers everywhere.

Can you live life without the "F" word? No you can't. What's the "F" word? Forgiveness is the "F" word. It is the necessary seasoning to have in your heart that brings a healthy balance and well- being in life. We, as human beings, need to release forgiveness to others and embrace forgiveness from others no matter the offense. Peel the Onion shares the transparent journey of forgiveness and communicates that it is not easy nor microwaveable. The process that took more time desired but Divinely required for right result. What is forgiveness really? Can it be done effectively and how do I know when it has taken place in my heart? Do I get a pass if the offense was just down right deplorable unthinkable? Can forgiveness still happen and the relationship not be restored? Is forgiveness authentic even if the memory is there? Robette Rodgers is a native of Los Angeles, California and has enjoyed journaling and writing poems as a form of relaxation at the end of the day. The author received her BS in Nutrition/Dietetics. She was convinced that she would help others with the physical aspect of their lives nutritionally. Because that was her passion. Little did she know that God had something else for her to do. The author would touch lives on a deeper level through her written testimony of overcoming pain, resentment and unforgiveness. This testimony proclaims, " By God's grace I did it and so can you!" Her other hobbies include trying new recipes, exercising and sewing.
The lovable character of Ms. Whisk, along with her kindergarten class, creates magic through food. While the children are creating a recipe, the room magically changes into that country. This magic sparks questions about the country. This excitement makes Ms. Whisk very happy, and she knows they are ready to learn. I love to cook with children! I am a teacher and twelve years ago, I started teaching kindergarten. I decided that I wanted to teach my class about the world. So, I decided the best way to do that would be through cooking. The loved it! Teaching the children had to cook was so much fun! The children often shared places they had eaten. The children were learning so many things when cooking. They learned about the country, how to work together, use their math skills and most importantly patience for the finished product. The other thing I discovered as time went on, was how the children were paying attention to the smells of the different recipes and how they remembered who they were with and where they were. This was so exciting for me. I had read that the sense of smell which is created in the olfactory bulb, which is in the limbic system of the brain, is closely associated with memory and feeling which is sometimes called the "emotional brain." Smells can bring memories and powerful responses almost instantly. Because the olfactory bulb has a close access to the amygdala, which processes emotion and the hippocampus which is responsible for associative learning. The first time you encounter a smell you link it to an event, person, or moment. The next time you encounter the smell you elicit the memory or mood. This is so exciting for both myself and my students!Watching this happen, gave me the inspiration to write a series of children's books to teach children about the world through the magic of food. When children are immersed in culture they learn more meaningfully and remember always. My vision is that all children will want to learn about the world through cooking.
Leeta wrote This is the Lord's Doing Lyrically Speaking to express frustrations, concerns, love, failure, success, bondage and deliverance. Instead of speaking to others about what she was going through, she decided to write it down and speak through poetry. Lyrically Speaking is an expression of emotions from and about Leeta as well as towards and about others. Hopefully as you read this book, you can journey with the author as she expresses compassion, empathy and passion about the things that shaped her past, present and future.
Childhood sexual abuse set Carla Goff on a destructive path that would last into adulthood. She could not see it at the time, but God had a plan for her life all along. Years later, I realized regret was the core of who I was. I had believed every lie of the enemy and had sat down defeated. But I was wrong. If you will come to God with your brokenness, He can repair you and make you brand new. I promise you that if you will turn to God, He will give you a new heart from your stony one. One night, she surrendered all to Jesus. She understood the Bible would guide her into all truth and learned to embrace one of the most inspirational quotes of all time, from Philippians 4: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Forgiveness is key-accepting God's forgiveness, asking forgiveness of others, and forgiving yourself.

The grace of God is power in a transformed life. A transformed life does not just happen, it requires a desire to be changed. A deep seeded root to fulfill the purpose of God. Wanting something better of life than existing. A transformed life requires preparation, working with the Word in everyday life. Having love for others, obedience unto God. In His presence is peace. A place of fellowship, patience, allowing her to finish her work, that we may be mature, complete, lacking nothing. Amen I am a Biblical Base Writer; my life has been transformed by the Word of God. Through my writing, I love sowing and reaping the seed of the Word of God in the lives of others. It's my desire that you will have a greater desire to seek the Lord our God for a deepener of those things that were once hidden in the Word of God but are now light in Jesus Christ our Lord. It is when we are taught the truth, and study the truth of the Word, and follow His truth, a desire of fellowshipping with the Father develops in our heart, our thoughts are not the same. Transformation take place, we become a new creation in Christ Jesus our Lord.
This is a book of poems, journaling my Christian walk. They describe my fears and concerns, as well as my growth in my relationship with the Lord as the years have gone by. It is not my complete journey; I'm still striving to move closer to God and His calling for me. I hope my poems will be an inspiration to others, encouraging them as they move along their own paths. Joyce Amelia Marshall was born and raised in Ava, New York. She moved to Massachusetts in 1973 and has lived in the state since then. Joyce has been a registered nurse since 1982. The Seventh Trumpet explains the truth about the return of Jesus Christ. It debunks the popular notion that the Church will be raptured before the tribulation. Sadly, "the rapture" was developed by misinterpreting a handful of Bible verses, which are properly examined in this book. Great inconsistencies in Bible interpretation are developed largely from the highly fickle and nonlinear nature of the English language. However, the Bible was not written in English, so to rightly divide the Bible properly, careful attention must be given to researching the original languages from which it was written. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew, and the New Testament was written in Greek. Both languages are straightforward and consistent in sense and meaning; thus, studying the Bible must begin and end in Hebrew and Greek. Deviating from this method of study has caused much confusion in the churches. This is where the traditions of men have usurped the teachings of the law and the prophets. These traditions have developed from mistranslating scripture in English before transliterating it in Hebrew or Greek. This is how the early rapture of the church was conceived. The Bible verses herein, are given in the King James Version (KJV) because it can be cross-referenced to the Strong's Concordance which is a bridge to the original languages of Hebrew and Greek. This makes it much more useful to obtain accurate interpretation. No other combination, outside the Strong's and the KJV, can make this claim. All other versions are solely dependent upon the inconsistent nature of the English language; and only a few of them, in part, align with the original text. Clayton Kendall has pastored a nondenominational home church for thirty years. His education in Theology has been through many years of self-study. He owes much gratitude to his late mentor Pastor Arnold Murry of Shepherd's Chapel. This is his fourth published work, and he plans on publishing more books in the future, Lord-willing. All of his books are of the spiritual genre.
I was born and raised in KY. When I was eleven my family moved to CA and made numerous trips back and forth until I finally made the decision to plant my roots in CA to this present day. I attended a church from the day I was born that my grandfather pastored and where my father was a missionary. I grew up serving the church where ever I attended and still do today in a church in CA where I have co-pastored with my present husband since 2009. I have a saying that I'm not religious I just love the Lord. You'll see in this book how I lived for years hiding so much anger, hurt and abuse until a pastor's wife counseled me to share it with others. That's how this book was born. Writing and reading it has helped me heal and gave me part of my testimony. I lived a very sheltered good life within the walls of the church until I got married the first time. It was then that I learned how the other side of the world lived. Within the first three months of marriage I learned how an addict behaves and for the next seventeen years engulfed destruction and abuse. My book shares how much torment one life can bring to so many others as well as the scars left behind. But through the years I also learned how to run into the arms of Jesus and to trust Him completely. He blessed me with a great voice and I started using it at the tender age of three and I still use it now to worship Him. To date I have wrote quite a few songs, including; "The Painter" & "God's Already Done What He said He Would Do." I cannot leave out there were seven beautiful children that went through these years with me and it was only because of God, them and my family that pulled us through. This book takes you on that journey with us of what we experienced and the moment our escape route came into play.
Discovery of a Blunt Treasure is a collection of poetry based on various experiences. I write about relationships, travels, foods and more. I find poetry to be a great way to give my heart the opportunity to have a voice and then through sharing it, it is a great way to connect with others. I believe many people can relate to my writing. For example, the poem I wrote about love, I shared on a couple of occasions and I was asked, by two brides, to recite it at their wedding ceremony. I absolutely love putting words together in a rhythmic manner and I hope that you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. Bertha Blunt is a native of Albany, New York.
