Die arbeitsmedizinische Tagung in Saarbrucken, 24. bis 26. Mai 1956, brachte in ihren Vortdigen neben ausgezeichneten Untersuchungsberichten zahlreiche Bei­ trage namhafl:er deutscher und auslandischer Referenten uber arbeitsmedizinische Probleme ihrer Heimatlander. Aus ihnen ergab sich ein Bild des derzeitigen Standes arbeitsmedizinischer Erkenntnisse und Forschungen auf den verschie­ dens ten Teilgebieten. Die Deutsche Gesellschafl: fur Arbeitsschutz hat gem die Anregung aufgegrif­ fen, diese Vortrage der Veroffentlichung zuzufuhren und damit der Allgemein­ heit bekanntzugeben. Da die Beihefl:e zum Zentralblatt fur Arbeitsmedizin und Arbeit~schutz nicht nur uber eigene Forschungsergebnisse der Deutschen Gesell­ schafl: fur Arbeitsschutz berichten sollen, sondem auch uber anderweitige Er­ kenntnisse aus dem gesamten Gebiet des Arbeitsschutzes, durfl:e gerade die vor­ liegende Veroffentlichung dies en Zweck erfullen. Die Tatsache, dag Vertreter aus acht europaischen Landem an den Referaten beteiligt waren, rechtfertigt den vom Verleger gewahlten Tite1. Wenn im Inter­ esse des Arbeitsschutzes und der wissenschafl:lichen Forschung, wie es im Schlug­ wort des Veranstalters, Prof. SYMANSKI, heigt, Fortschritte erzielt worden sind, ist das angestrebte Ziel erreicht worden. The Xth European Colloid and Interface Society (ECIS) Conference was conducted jointly with its Finnish counterpart (PKS-YKS) in Abo (Turku), Finland, in September 1996. The focus was placed on the following topics:- Properties of microemulsion systems;

The 11th Conference of the European Colloid and Interface Society (ECIS) was held in September 1997 in Lunteren, The Netherlands. This volume contains a selection of contributions in the following fields: New topics in colloid science Polymer colloids Rheology Surfactant colloids Polymers and surfactants at interfaces

- Particle and Lamella Interaction in Fluid Environments; The volume comprises the proceedings of the combined 35th meeting of the Deutsche Kolloidgesellschaft and the 5th annual meeting of the European Colloid and Interface Society (Mainz, FRG) and it capsulizes the current colloid research being conducted in Europe.

The volume presents such topics as - Applications of the Principles of Colloid Science - Suspensions - Surfactants - Emulsions and Rheology - Microemulsions and Bio-Colloids.

This volume contains the contributions of the 10th Symposium on Analytical Ultracentrifugation, held in Regensburg, Germany, on March 13th to 14th, 1997. This volume contains the proceedings of the VIIIth annual meeting of the European Colloid and Interface Society (ECIS) which took place in Montpellier, France, in September 1994. The contributions cover a broad range of fields in modern colloid science, as well as their technical, experimental and theoretical aspects.

The International Symposium on Colloid and Polymer Science was held at Nagoya Institute of Technology, Nagoya, Japan, in October 1996. Special emphasis was placed on formation and dynamics of self-organized structures, including technical developments, applications, general theory, and results of investigations.

Investigations on new methods to characterize interfaces, surfactants and colloids are also presented.

The subject of this volume is limited in that it addresses amphiphiles at liquid/air, liquid/liquid, and liquid/solid interfaces, with litte attention paid to vapor/solid interfaces.

Physics of Polymer Networks presents the proceedings of the 29th Europhysics Conference on Macromolecular Physics held in Merseburg, Germany. The main topics of this volume are: - Theory of networks; - Formation of networks; - Sol-gel transition; - Experimental investigations on structure and properties of polymer networks.

The 27th Europhysics Conference on Macromolecular Physics focused on applications of scattering methods to the dynamics of polymer dense systems and covered Rayleigh-Brillouin scattering and photon correlation spectroscopy, quasi-elastic neutron scattering, holographic methods, real time X-ray and neutron scattering techniques as well as the treatment of theoretical models and computer simulations of polymer dynamics.

Advances in Colloid Structures presents the proceedings of the 11th Scandinavian Symposium on Surface Chemistry held in Bergen, Norway. - Surfactants and Macromolecules in Solution and on Surfaces; - Development of Technical Equipment in Surface Chemistry are the main topics of this informative volume.

This volume is devoted to solidification of polymers in general; crystalline, liquid crystalline, and amorphous polymers, including oriented polymers and the effects of pressure and processing are discussed. A distinguished international group of authors has contributed to the volume.
