Hi Morgan! It's me, dad, and I wanted to write you this letter about maintaining your unshakable Christian faith while you are away incollege! Great idea, huh?Listen, the world out there is going to throw a bunch of crazy ideas your way in the next few years. I know you will sort through them with wisdom and prudence, but I still wanted to write you this letter of encouragement for the exciting journey ahead!I started out going over twelve Christian beliefs that are central to our faith, and then I threw in some of the challenges to our faith you will come across in college, followed by just some common sense answers to those challenges. I included a bunch of warm, and funny, old memories just to make it interesting. There is some other stuff too, but you will have to read to find out!Yeah, I know we have gone over this stuff before, but you have to admit it was a pretty cool idea for me to write it all down and put it in book! You know I got your back. I love you Morgan, and enjoy!
In almost 40 years of ministry, pastoring, and traveling as an evangelist, teaching, and preaching the Gospel of Jesus; I have been asked many questions concerning the end times and where we as God''s people fit in this final hour. I have endeavored to answer these questions using many scriptures from the Bible that relate to the question. In this book I have broken down the book of Revelation and divided in in the order in which it will happen. My prayer is that this book will make your understanding of the Book of Revelation come alive, and inspire your faith and your hope in God.
The headlines are enough to make the heart palpitate with fear: global economic collapse, climate change, skyrocketing unemployment, and worldwide uncertainty. The world faced these calamities once before. It happened in ancient times when Joseph was elevated to the right hand of power. He preserved the covenant people of God by transporting them to a place exempted from the world''s deteriorating conditions. That place was called "Goshen." The epic story of divine preservation recorded in Genesis is a picture of the power of the Lord Jesus, our Heavenly Joseph, sustaining and protecting His covenant people in these unparalleled times of global distress. "The Goshen Factor" probes the reality of transforming the believer''s surroundings into a dimension of blessing in the midst of a cursed world. Goshen was a famine-free zone for Jacob, a plague-free zone for the Hebrews, and a representation of the "abundant life" where "no plague can come nigh our dwelling."
Since 2002, I have been traveling to the nations of Haiti on missionary and humanitarian missions serving especially the children of Haiti. I wrote this book in 2008 and publication was completed in 2010. My efforts has proven to be "for such a time as this" considering the events that has since transpired in Haiti. It was always my intention to use the proceeds of this book towards the cause of Haiti, especially the children, and my intention still remains the same. WWW.HEARTOFGODMISSIONS.ORG. Together we can help Haiti rebuild.
There have been a multitude of books and sermons preached about the different "spirits" affecting people in this day: Jezebel, Python, Athaliah, and Delilah are just some of the spirits Scripture reveals are at work in our midst in the21st century church. A multitude of ministers and churches are feeling the pressure to buy into programs and ideas the Holy Spirit never told them to be a part of. And when that happens, an Absalom is born in their lives and ministries. In this book, David reveals the characteristics of an Absalom, how it gains a hold in our lives, and the reason we must break it''s authority over us so we can walk in the individual anointing God has called us all to carry.
The Scoobs in Scoobtown are very unique, they float when they want to, float up and float down. They can change their color to green with red stripes. They live in a land that is not far from heaven and were made to serve God and make Jesus their Lord. God created them to have heaven on earth and sent Jesus His son to show them their worth. But you''ll see when you read that some were determined to do things their own way, not God''s way! Though Scoobtown is millions of miles away, in your imagination, there is a Scoob in you and a Scoob in me. So be an obedient Scoob 1,2,3!! ( 2 John:6) And this is Love: that we walk in obedience to His commands. As you have heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love.
There are so many reasons that I wanted to write thisbook. One of them is found right there in the center of thatword, transitions. Do you see it?Right there in the middle of transitions... it is "I"! That''s right!"I" am always going through some type of transition. Yes, it''sabout me! It''s up close and personal. My last book, Dreams2-Destiny" was all about how my life was divinely guided throughmany wonderful experiences in the contemporary Christianmusic business. As that book ended, I was "transitioning" intoanother career as the pastor of a church I founded in Oklahoma.Within that transition were several others and many ofthem surprised me and challenged me. I was learning everyday how to not only survive, but how to get stronger in the midstof the challenges. We all go through seasons of transition and I have found out thatit is easier to endure them and press through them when I hearhow others have been able to navigate the storms of change. Youwill fi nd some stories of folks that have weathered the stormswithin the pages of this book. Keep in mind that this is not abook to "fi x you" but rather to offer you hope and the future thatGod has for you. It''s all good!Joseph Jones is the Founding Pastor of The Landing CommunityChurch and President of Dreams2Destiny Center inGlenpool,OK. Using the analogy of a crack-cocaine addict's journey from addiction to recovery, Prophetic Crack describes the unhealthy emotional, hermeneutical, and legalistic manipulations of church leaders that may lead to "pushing" a toxic faith that inadvertently may lead to church addiction. It also outlines a clear path to recovery and restoration for both "pushers" and "addicts." Using Acts chapter 16, verse 16 as a foundation for her research, Dr. McMillan has explored the causes and effects of church addiction and paralleled its destructive patterns to that of the crack cocaine addict. You'll find the similarities astonishing! The foreword is written by Dr. Claudette Anderson Copeland and the book is published by Yorkshire Publishing.
