In this training, I will ask you to consider a hierarchy of God's Word over the human spirit, over the mind, and over the body. My spirit is that part of my being that can perceive God "talking" to me through his Word about specific conditions in my life.When John the Baptist, still in his mother's womb, sensed the presence of Jesus, who was still in Mary's womb, he "leaped" inside his mother's womb (see Luke 1:41). He had connected with the "Word made flesh" (John 1:14). "The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, searching all the inner depths of his heart" (Prov. 20:27). My prayer is that the reader will move closer to and relate with God's heart on a deeper level as you move closer to and relate more deeply with His Word (see: John 1:1). "For physical training is of some value--useful for a little; but godliness(spiritual training) is useful and of value in everything and in every way, for it holds promise for the present life and also for the life which is to come" (1 Tim.4:7-8 The Amplified Bible, or AMP.

My wife and I have read through the Daily Devotions for the entire year. At one point she stopped me and said that every husband and father should receive a copy of these devotions and read them aloud to his wife and children. I agree. Above all, Dr. Percival is a Pastor and has a Pastor's heart and insight. With these devotions, he leads us through the entire range of a person's relation with our Triune God. Skillfully, he guides us through the pertinent Psalms, instructive Biblical passage, and a brief statement on how to speak with God. His choice of poems is very brief and very uplifting. He leads us finally in a sentence or two on how we ought to pray. This book of devotions should have wide circulation well beyond the Anglican Communion to the church universal. A Peace of Me is a poetry book that ventures many different areas surrounding life. This book ventures love, pain, depression, failure, redemption, loneliness, happiness, anger, racism, and much more. A Peace of Me allows people to connect with real life issues and see them from a different point of view.

In a physical marathon, the "wall" shows up about mile twenty or twenty-one; when this happens, mind and body shake hands to say "we quit." That's where most runners will shut down, unless they reach down into their identity as spirit. To the question "Who am I; what is my identity?" God's answer is "I am spirit; I have a mind; and I live in a body." So, to break through the "wall" requires a hierarchy of spirit over mind over body. God's Word will address our spirit when mind and body are out of it, thereby setting Word over spirit over mind over body to keep the feet moving. Project this to other marathons: mental, spiritual, emotional, interpersonal, occupational, financial, etc.Bottom line: Can the reader finish the book, put it down, and say: "Wow, look what God's Word performed; I want to be in the Word; I want the Word to be in me"? The closer the reader comes to God's Word, the closer they come to Him (John 1:14). The Word will have become "sent out (Isaiah 55:10-11), active and alive (Hebrews 4:12), watched over and performed" (Jeremiah 1:12) in their lives!

When will the "Wall" show up in these end times? What are the seasonal signs? Seven major factors of end-times now existent: 1. The proclamation of the State of Israel on May 14, 19482. Historical duplication of the Days of Noah and of Sodom and Gomorrah: 3. Wars, earthquakes and rumors of wars (see Matthew 24: 6-8). These have always been; but look at the current level of intensity and frequency.4. The Mark of the Beast (see Revelation 13: 11-18). Books outlining the current research in the correlation of satellite technology, computer technology, microchip and biochip development, bar graphs, internet, virtual reality, etc. are now commonplace.5. Setting for the Antichrist (see 2 Thessalonians 2: 3-12; Daniel 9: 23-27; Revelation 13: 3-9). False prophets and Christ-figures have increased dramatically in recent years. (see Matthew 24: 4-5, 24; 1 Timothy 4: 1). The hunger for a world leader of charismatic proportions has also increased.6. The Middle East stage is set (see Ezekiel 38-39; Daniel 11: 40, 44; Joel 2: 20; Revelation 13).7. God's Word is preached to all continents
