Every covert operation has a commander. Every terrorist attack has a mastermind, but behind both there's always someone with serious money and power. Alan Conferra is neither. He's just a Capitol Hill bureaucrat. It's his job is to find out who has been funding a string of worldwide terrorist attacks. Working with bankers, politicians, spies, and government organizations that officially don't exist, Alan moves from cubicle to warzones. Throughout his career, the most dangerous place he ever went wasn't a burning desert, a steaming jungle in Africa, or an icy mountain in Switzerland. By far, the most dangerous place he will ever go is Cleveland, Ohio."Money for Mayhem" is a historical fiction, action-thriller set around real world events from 1922-2005. This is a story of more than money. It's about love, revenge, duty, and facing personal fears. It shows how numbers on a spreadsheet have very real world consequences for all of us.
After 25 years of playing golf, mostly as a single, Par-Man has accumulated quite a collection of stories about the characters who roam the links. Par-Man has one mission; a round at par or better. If that looks like it won't happen for Par-Man, then he is obligated to help the others in the group achieve golf immortality. Par-Man is not a professional (not even close), nor are the other players in the book. They are Saturday golfers who just love the game. Every shot on every hole in this chronicle is true. Each reader will find a little bit of themselves in these tales. Maybe it will describe an actual meeting between you and Par-Man.
Sometimes you think you want to disappear, but all you really want is to be found. Paul Alfred felt this way as he imagined his new life in Ireland. Everything he could envision was real now. Deep within his soul was a door that opened into a world of wonder. He only had to open the door and let the magic in. To breathe it all in and love it all out. He knew that Ireland was full of magical things, patiently waiting for his senses to grow sharper. He knew there was something incredible waiting to be known. He didn't want to live forever, he just wanted to live. It felt good to be lost in the right direction. Now, ask yourself: Where will you be when you get where you're going?
"Overcast" is a collection of verse written about a middle class family in a 20th century industrial American city. Many of the pieces are narrative, centered on the life of the author's sister whose cloistered life was turned upside down by immersion in Japanese culture. Other pieces are inspired by subjects political and personal, abstract and concrete. The tone is wry and irreverent with a kind of linguistic swagger. They are accessible, even fun to read, and are intended for the intelligent, thoughtful reader. Some are also emotional, regarding the puzzle of life, the certainty of loss, and the depth of feeling created by transience.
In the Book of Genesis, it is recorded that God made the earth and everything in it. When Adam and Eve committed the first sin, they were cast out of the Garden of Eden. The Biblical Record will show that almost 6000 years have passed since man inherited and began to populate the earth. During this period of time God has dealt with mankind over seven distinct periods of time called dispensations. The Holy Scriptures also record eight major covenants that God made with man in which He promised blessings and favor if man obeys the conditions set forth in each covenant. When man disobeyed and sinned against God, he suffered the consequences. As man was punished or blessed, God would give signs of His faithfulness and enduring patience. It is important to understand the nature and character of God as man seeks redemption and salvation. The progressive revelation of God and how He will redeem sinful man defines and clarifies one of the most important question that could ever be asked: What is the eternal plan of God to redeem and save mankind? This book will carefully examine each dispensation, covenant and sign and discuss the role that each plays in the eternal plan of God. It is believed that this is the first book to discuss dispensations and covenants as a unified topic. The set of eight signs given to man also appear to be defined in this book for the first time.
"Listen, Granule, about what daddy said. Is it true?""Mummy said he was joking.""I think it's true.""Really?""I think so.""D'you mean mummy's a liar?"Mandolyn was thoughtful. Granule's eyes were fixed on her face. He loved her face. It was so… he didn't know the word… it kept changing… unlike his own, which was always the same. Mandolyn smiling and Mandolyn grave were almost two different people; Mandolyn laughing was a third; Mandolyn perplexed a fourth, and so on. When she was deep in thought, two tiny wrinkles appeared on her forehead, making her look, to Granule, almost old, though otherwise, partly because she was so small, partly because of what Granule thought of as her beauty, she seemed younger than her nine years and could easily pass for seven or even six."Let's run away," Granule suddenly blurted out.
