Midwest native Susannah Roberts is a single twenty-six year old plagued by feelings of betrayal and abandonment. Wayne Loomis, her former fiancé left town four years earlier in the wake of a financial scandal concerning a local family's construction company.Into her life comes Alexander who falls in love with her and becomes determined to make her his wife.
