Follow a refugee boy, Kasir, along with his new classmate, 12-year-old Julia as terrifying living shadows force them to flee through a magical portal to Kasir's homeland. Aimed at 9-14 year olds, this middle grade fantasy adventure explores new cultures. Really well-written, it will have young readers gripped by the fast-paced adventure.
