Amami Ryukyu

Beautiful photographs from the Amami Islands in Japan. The four islands of Amami Oshima, Tokunoshima, northern Okinawa, and Iriomote (Kagoshima and Okinawa prefectures), are known for their diverse and unique ecosystems. Many rare animals such as the Amami rabbit, the Ryukyu long-tailed giant rat, Iriomote cat, Lidth's jay, Okinawa rail live on the islands.
