Beauty Revisited is adapted from a monologue spoken by the author on his podcast, SurrealPolitiks. It tells the story of a man who develops a new appreciation for beauty after being released from prison. Being deprived of the desensitizing influence of pornography, he recognizes the influence it has had on his perceptions.
Being deprived of access to nature, he sees it in a whole new light.
Being deprived the soothing presence of a woman, and their voices, he sees them as all the more precious. He warns that those of us who are unable to see beauty amidst the ugliness of modernity, risk destroying it, and making worse those things we aim to improve.
