Aurelia and Roe have been best friends for years. Both freshly trained medical practitioners, they are set to begin their life's work in Devil's Meadows. To get to their new home, the pair must make the dangerous trek from the mountains of Renfield to the scorching heart of a vast desert. Along with Roe's brother Hale and a small team of companions, they are armed with only their knowledge, instruments, and each other.

In the grueling vastness of inhospitable terrain, the sun and sand hold dangers in countless forms. Wild animals, harsh weather, and bandits looking to steal precious medicines are just the beginning of the perils they'll face.
