Bag om Breathing a Bad Land
Influenced by a shameful part of America's history - a great injustice that has been mostly forgotten - this story concerns human despair and the way out. It shadows a young Native American, reservation-born woman's struggle to escape the bonds of addiction, self-hatred, cultural indifference, and fear - and radiates her joy in finding the source of ultimate freedom. It is an inspiring story of Christian hope and victory, despite seemingly-insurmountable odds. * Sue Raymore (aka Mina "Eldest Daughter" Black Cloud) is slightly off-kilter. Actually, more than slightly - she's half-crazy, which is understandable. Sue is a half-breed - and both halves are badly broken. Because she was born into turbulent times and harsh conditions, the odds are against her. Her bad choices don't improve her chances in life. Sue is running a million miles an hour in the wrong direction. An odd couple speaking a strange language offer hope, and Sue must make a choice. Her demons cheer for her to follow their way. They offer everything Sue wants, except a chance to find the way out. * Inspiration: Psalm 40; Crazy Horse; Sitting Bull; Red Cloud; Ghost Dance; Rapid City, South Dakota; Annie Mae Pictou Aquash; Dances with Wolves; Wounded Knee; Pine Ridge; Cowboy Junkies-"Pale Sun"; Casting Crowns - "Does Anybody Hear Her?"
