Bag om Cato's Letters V4 (1724)
Cato's Letters V4 is a collection of political essays written by John Trenchard and Thomas Gordon in the early 18th century. The essays were originally published in the London Journal between 1720 and 1723 under the pseudonym ""Cato"". The collection includes 36 letters that cover a range of topics, including the principles of liberty, the dangers of tyranny, the importance of a free press, and the need for limited government. The authors draw on the ideas of the Enlightenment and classical republicanism to argue for a society based on individual rights and the rule of law. The letters were widely read and influential in the American colonies, where they were seen as a defense of colonial rights against British tyranny. This fourth volume of the collection includes letters 28-36 and provides a valuable insight into the political debates of the early 18th century. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
