A city refers to a large human settlement which not only acts as a driver of economic growth but also provides social welfare, such as housing and education. Urbanization refers to the process that describes the development of urban areas whereas urbanism refers to the study of how inhabitants of urban areas interact with the built environment. The process of urbanization is characterized by fast population growth of cities and big towns which is accompanied by regional disparities. Urban life refers to the various aspects regarding the styles, habits, traditions and practices of the different social groups that reside in the city.
