Comet in the Village

"World-weary at the ripe old age of twenty-nine, Delhi-based journalist Ulka Bhatt thinks she's seen it all. Then comes the news of her father's sudden tragic demise in a road accident on the yatra route to Yamnotri. So she heads to her village, Mirasu, in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand to attend the last rites and wind up her father's extensive farming ventures in the village. But she is in for a rude awakening, not least of which is the existence of an unknown young half-brother. In a bizarre sequence of events, Ulka finds herself making her home in Mirasu which is as alien to her as a foreign country. Even more challenging are the foibles of the colourful denizens of this remote mountain village who test the limits of her patience. The force with which she is swept away by unforeseen and often jarring events at every corner leading to a chilling climax teaches her that evil can lurk anywhere, even in a sleepy scenic mountain hamlet."
