Bag om Crazy Tales of Combat Psychiatry: A Paul Marzeky Mystery
Crazy Tales is the fictional accounting of a young soldier serving as an enlisted Psychiatric Consultant in Vietnam in 1968-1969. It frequently visits both trauma and transformation as the protagonist spends his "time in hell."While initially naïve but intrepid, the book follows the personal and clinical growth of Paul Marzeky as he experiences the perils of his clients, and all of the "craziness" that was inherent in Viet Nam combat zones, where all definitions of normalcy became irrelevant. Ministering to the emotional needs of men fresh from combat was often at odds with the tenets of "military psychiatry," whose goals were always to return men to duty as quickly as possible, or eliminate them completely from active duty, leaving little room for other therapeutic approaches-though Paul does his very best to manage compassion and empathy in the midst of the insanity. This is first book of the Paul Marzeky Mysteries Series. The other titles include: Spirals of Time, The Unwitting Witnesses, Alchemy's Angel and Gilded Edges of Shadow.
