Damnation

The war in the celestial realm had taken its toll on everyone. The angel population had been decimated, and the Most High's Kingdom was in ruins. Lucifer had been expelled and the remnants of his army were being hunted down. One of his most loyal followers, General Xaphan, was one of the last to be captured, ushering in the end of any legitimate threat that Lucifer still posed... or so the angels thought. General Xaphan, after being expelled, aids Lucifer in the reconstruction of his armies in his newly founded underworld kingdom. However, unknown even to Xaphan, Lucifer has concocted another plot to return to Celestial World... by means of attacking the Most High's children in the Mortal Realm. To safeguard his powers and collect information on the human race, Lucifer strips Xaphan of her identity, memories, and wings, and sends her to live on Earth. Unfortunately for Xaphan, she is dropped in the middle of a fierce war between the Papal States and the armies of Emperor Charles V. It is during this time that she befriends a young soldier in the Papal army, a Florentine named Piero Lorenzi. The two become very close and eventually marry. As the war rages on, Xaphan is haunted by fragmented memories and horrible nightmares. The torment seems endless until Lucifer appears and restores her memories. A conflicted Xaphan returns to Hell with Lucifer. With little help from anyone, and almost no chance of success, Piero sets out on a journey to save his wife, not only from Lucifer's forces, but from herself. Time is of the essence as the imperial armies creep towards the borders of Florence. The decisions Piero is forced to make, will determine the future, not only of a nation, but of all existence. Should he fail, there is no going back.
