He always had a very close relationship with his grandfather and has many fond memories there. After his grandfather's passing, he discovers he inherited the home he holds so close to his heart, but there's a stipulation. Chris needs to host the first big family Christmas after his passing at the house, maintaining his grandfather's tradition. With Chris's intense work schedule in New York City, he requests to work remotely for the month of December and return for the New Year. After he receives approval, with the promise that he will work be working justas hard out of the office, he packs and leaves for Maine.Christmas family parties at the Ackerman house in Maine always consisted of family and a few friends scattered throughout the house, the entire house beautifully decorated inside and out, a big family dinner, presents, desserts and something to make every year unique. Chris believes he can't handle all the work for his job, plus plan the enormous family Christmas like his grandfather used to do. So, he decides to hire an event planner, but soon finds, his only option is a new company called Merry Events.Meredith Block works hard to promote her new event planning business, Merry Events. She's always loved holidays, especially Christmas, although she has spent more Christmases with her best friend, Bella Franz and her family, than her own parents. She's hoping to get a Christmas client, when she's given a new lead. When Meredith goes to the house for her interview, Chris hires her on the spot.Meredith works hard to make everything perfect, while Chris is hard at work, although they find time to get to know each other, while Chris's family already assumes they're together. What will happen come Christmas? Will Meredith move on to her next job, while Chris returns to New York? Or maybe they'll find there's a little more than Christmas joy in the air.
