Zel keeps a list of forbidden wishes in a drawer where Mother can't see them. She is going to turn eighteen and she hopes that mother will finally let her out into the world so she can run across the fields, see the sea and smile at some stranger. But that won't happen until an outlaw sneaks into her room and she finds the perfect opportunity to escape from her.
