It's been a while since I couldn't wait to keep reading a book. And a hot minute (if not hot years) since I have given a book five stars. In all honesty, I might have given it four and half, if I could, because I usually save five stars for books that shake me to my core.
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine is, however, an insanely accurate rendition of coping with trauma that hasn't been dealt with. I absolutely adored Eleanor's trains of thought, and I must say, that I can be as cynical and annoyingly logical too, sometimes. She is, nonetheless, very flawed and judgemental by the hand of her mother, but the way she deals with them (I don't wish to elaborate due to spoilers) is such a pleasant and heartwarming read.
No forced and predictable love-romance either, to sugar up this sad story, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine, though Eleanor Oliphant ISN'T Completely Fine, far from it. However, Eleanor Oliphant will be completely fine. As will many other, after a life of hardship dealt by fate's hand, by the support of a kind heart.
Virkelig god bog om en kvinde der ikke passer ind. Man piller langsomt lagene af og lærer mere om hende og hendes baggrund. Og følger med i hendes udvikling.
Jeg læste bogen i løbet af et par dage. Kan virkelig anbefales.
