This collection features 26 poems about Sri Lanka, written in English - from the unique point of view of a half-Sri Lankan, half-German author who now calls this country her home. The poems strive to capture the beauty of this Asian island formerly known as Ceylon, with all its many fascinating - sometimes tragic - facets. They cover a variety of subjects: nature, customs and culture, war and peace, and the feeling of (not) belonging.Although the author focuses mainly on writing romance novels, poetry was her first love and remains one of her favourite ways of expressing herself as well as trying to understand the world.
