This book is a challenging call to all Christians everywhere to take their stand against Satan who wants your soul, spirit, body and mind to be a disorderly mess. He wants you to become unstable and unreliable so no one can depend on you. Your emotions, your attitudes and outlook on life will be up and down to the extent you cannot be reliable even to yourself. When God's people allow (you don't have to you know) the devil to mess, as in mess up, mix up or confuse their minds they always lose. To be successful in any area we must know who and whose we are, what we believe and where we are going. We must have goals and a definite plan for our lives. The only conversation we should be having with the devil is to give him orders, because Christ has made us the victor. To be pushed around by the devil is unscriptural. It is not God's will for you. If the devil is pushing you around it is because you are going the wrong way. He should be fleeing, not you. That may be difficult for you to believe, but it is true. Within the 156 pages of this book is sound, practical advice to assist you in living an overcoming life of victory and blessing to others. "Devil, Don't Mess With Me!" is about areas in our lives that Satan wants to hinder, even control. Each of these areas begin with the letter "M". As you read, you will be inspired to believe God for great victory for you and those you love.
This book contains 170 pages of valuable, practical, Biblical advice and assistance for Pastors, Preachers, Teachers, and Christian Workers. Why the title "IN MINISTRY IS GOD KNOWN!"? This book is actually a combining of three books written to the Christian worker whose heart cries out for success. Why would a sincere child of God not desperately want to succeed? "For His glory and pleasure..." (Revelation 4:11) we must succeed. The title of this book is inspired by five words found in Psalm 76:1, "In Judah is God known..." Notice, this is not a question. It is a declaration of fact. Why? Because Judah, the ruling tribe (Genesis 49:10), has finally come into its own calling under David. May we fulfill and come into our calling in the ministry. Let us pray that in our ministry God will be known. Known not only by us, and to us, but also by those to whom we minister. Allow it to be so in your life and ministry.
There are many who have said, "It does not matter what you believe as long as you are sincere." That is a very foolish statement! What if the surgeon cut into your heart to remove a growth from your foot? Would that make a difference? What if you took poison by mistake instead of medicine a physician prescribed? Would it make any difference? What if the scientist preparing the launch of the next satellite decided that 2x2 can equal 6, or 15, would that make any difference? Why is it only religion, and men's souls that people are willing to play with? The twelve chapters included in this book are written from over 26 years of study in God's Word, the Bible. There is only one way to Heaven. I would rather the surgeon be wrong when he operates than to get my theology wrong. As we said before, so say I now again, "If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." Galatians 1:9 This is a great study help for those who wish to know what the Bible says about salvation, baptism, the Holy Spirit, money, etc.
The power of making right choices in your life, and the long-term blessings you will receive are almost unbelievable. Can you picture yourself living without limits? Can you see yourself always believing you will receive what you pray for? Imagine going to God in prayer, asking for the usual, and being told by God that your requests, visions and dreams are much too small? And then, ponder if you can, that God says to you, "Go back and rearrange that list. I have far greater plans for you." If that sounds too far-fetched for you then read this book, and allow God to stretch and increase your faith. Our problem is not that we are asking too much, but that we are believing for too little. When pagans say, "Seize the Day!" they are talking about living recklessly, trying to have more ungodly fun before they die. Their backs are against the wall. They are trying to realize some fleeting pleasure out of their pointless existence. When the child of God talks about Living Without Limits, or Seizing the Day, it takes on a revolutionary meaning. We are neither slaves to pleasure, nor afraid of danger. We are free and joyful in a way this world cannot understand. And we know that our works here on earth will receive an eternal reward. "And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them." Revelation 14:13
In one of His parables Jesus said, "...Make to yourselves friends of money..." There is a lot of misunderstanding of this parable. This book explains the meaning and contains material for outlines for sermons and lessons which can easily be used by Pastors, Sunday School teachers, etc. If you can understand the parable of the unjust steward, taught by Jesus in Luke 16:1-13, you will understand more than most ministers of the Gospel when it comes to money. Chapters include: 10 Lies People Believe About Money Methods for Raising Money The Perfect Plan Does the Bible Promote Poverty? Why Am I Poor? What Steps Should I Take? Down Payments, Debt, Drudgery and Disasters The Proper Manner of Giving
Though we speak mainly of Dignity in this book, we must realize it takes a man of resolute courage to remain unflappable and unstoppable in his pursuit of a dignified life and testimony. There are so many character traits which could be added to the above. Consider love, compassion, boldness, humility, valor, steadfastness, etc., etc. Yes, the list could go on and on. We could add determination, toughness, even tenderness and more. We cannot be men who are weak, indecisive, faint-hearted, cowardly, double minded or selfish. We know also that we could add many more chapters by including great missionaries and men of the recent past. We could include such great worthies as William Booth, Hudson Taylor, C. T. Studd and many, many more. And what a blessing it is to read of these great men. Let me close with this: "Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD do that which seemeth him good." 2 Samuel 10:12
Because we are sincere we want, yes, even demand the truth. We disdain, even despise deception. Deception is the first sign mentioned by Jesus when His disciples said to Him, "Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?" (Matthew 24:3-4) Dedicated, disciplined disciples want, even hunger and thirst for truth despite demands it may put upon them. Within the covers of this book are five doctrines, sometimes considered divisive that demand we be decisive in our consideration and response. Yes, truth demands a decision, a verdict. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32 This 108 page book answers questions about our souls, the Trinity, the Sabbath, speaking in tongues and the unpardonable sin.
The benefits of unity with leadership are often beyond our understanding. I have personally taught this book in mid-week and Sunday evening services. The young men were especially happy to receive this teaching and eager for more. Each chapter has a brief question and answer quiz at the end. One benefit is for the reader to test himself. Another benefit can be to quiz students the reader is teaching. Also included in this book is a message given by my son, Durant.
The Holy Spirit breathed on holy men of old, who wrote the Holy Bible, to teach us how to be holy, so that we can go to a holy heaven where holy angels are already worshipping a holy God. In the millennium there will be an actual highway called "the way of holiness." Even the pots, pans and bridles of the horses will be inscribed with the words, "Holiness unto the Lord." Does it not seem reasonable that we should discover what holiness actually is? The subject of holiness is probably one of the most misunderstood subjects in the Bible. Do you really want to please God and have His blessing? That is exactly why this book has been written.
What are you accomplishing in this life? Are you bringing forth fruit for the kingdom of God? This book includes the basics of evangelistic ministry--methods of witnessing, what to say, bringing people into church through a bus ministry, writing a tract, praying effectively, and many more topics included. You will be challenged, inspired, convicted, encouraged and blessed.
So many are seeking God's will and purpose for their life. Questions such as "What does God want me to do?" "What is His perfect plan?" In Jeremiah 29:4-7 God gives the message to His people through Jeremiah: Occupy! Take up residence! Build houses! Plant gardens! Get married! Have children! And then, several hundred years later, Jesus gives basically the same message in Luke 19:11-13. And what is His instruction? Occupy! Take up residence! Engage in business! And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. Luke 1:17 May we be aware this is also our ministry as we occupy. This book will challenge you to occupy properly so that you may vacate successfully, and then return once again to occupy eternally.
There are two extremely dangerous lies being taught that are bringing massive defections to true and sensible Christian living. One of the lies is Unconditional Eternal Security, or Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS). This false doctrine will be responsible for multitudes spending eternity in the Lake of Fire. The other lie that already has, and will continue to cause millions to spend eternity in Hell, or the Lake of Fire, is the Theory of Evolution. This theory, like OSAS encourages a person to believe they will not have to pay the consequences for their life, or behavior. One (OSAS) says that it is not an eternity issue, no matter how sinfully we live, (if we have ever had even a moment of salvation) because the Grace of God has already taken care of every past, present, and future sin. The other (evolution) says there is no creator, therefore we do not have to be accountable to a "higher power" for the way we live. The OSAS teachers would have us believe that God has Christian Drunkards, Christian Adulterers, Christian Homosexuals, Christian Murderers, etc. They teach that no amount of sin can cause a believer to backslide, and miss Heaven. The Bible counts a Believer who lives in sin as a Sinner who needs to be saved. " [19] Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; [20] Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins." James 5:19-20 This book deals with the false doctrine of Unconditional Eternal Security. May it challenge, bless, and strengthen you.
Faith is more than just hype. Faith is more than a good feeling. Faith is more than trying to talk yourself into believing for something good to happen, when down in your heart, you know that you really don't believe. The twelve chapters in this book were written in a time of great testing in the author's life. It's easy to talk about faith when you are up on the mountain, but will your faith sustain you when you are in the valley? Thank God the answer to that question is an emphatic YES! God desires us to need Him, and He wants to meet our needs.
Can you even imagine such a thing? Have you ever wondered why God would entrust us faltering, struggling, sometimes lazy, and often times rebellious human beings to carry out His plan, when He has a great host of angels available who are already totally submissive and obedient to Him? I am being honest when I say it amazes me that God would choose you and me. Think about it! Entering into a partner relationship with God.
Ziklag, the place Satan planned to be David's destruction, the make-or-break place for David. Ziklag, where one of his most devastating defeats turned into perhaps the greatest victory of his life. David the Giant Killer became David the Nation Builder. David the Hero inspires us to become heroes. This is a book to encourage those who feel unworthy because their dreams and visions always run ahead of their accomplishments, and they have become weary and totally unaware of their own hero status to God and others. Be inspired to break out of the ordinary mold and become extra-ordinary for God.
Conceive the Incredible Contemplate the Exceeding Crave the Abundant The subjects written about in this book can help everyone in every area of ministry. Some of these thoughts and chapters are subjects the author taught for weeks at a time, and yet are condensed into three or four pages, some a bit longer. This book will kindle a fire in your mind, your heart, and your spirit. You will want to teach, preach, and use them yourself. As the Holy Spirit speaks to you, they will become your message for these truths come from God and His Word. "[9] The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. [10] Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us." Ecclesiastes 1:9-10 You may want to read this book as a daily devotional aid. There is a chapter for each day of the month, plus a little extra.
Why does God put such a great emphasis on His name? I believe you will find the answer to this question, and much, much more in this book. For several years I could not understand why so much importance was placed on the Name of God rather than on God Himself. Verses of scripture such as the following greatly stirred my curiosity: "[1] The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; [5] We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions. [7] Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God." Psalm 20:1, 5, 7 "The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe." Proverbs 18:10 "Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name." Psalm 91:14 An in-depth study of God's names and what we are to do with those names.
I have always felt that we have greatest country in the world. It has always given me great pleasure to see honest, hardworking people and who are willing to take risks to get ahead and succeed. I always felt that this was that America got to be great and that we all should be working hard to help improve our own lives and the lives of others by carrying on this great American tradition. As a result of being brought up with this thinking, I am more than willing to go out of my way to try to help people succeed and obtain their goals. To see people succeed in their life’s goals and ambitions has always been very gratifying to me and given me a good feeling.Another thing that always gives me a good feeling is to see couples doing things as a family and with their children. To me this is what life is all about and should be about. Many of this new generations of do-gooders, as they are often called, seem to think that everybody should live on handouts and that anyone who is successful should be cut back down and not allowed to succeed without their input as this is not fair to the less fortunate in this country. What they do not seem to realize or don’t want to realize is that the people who are more successful probably do more to help the less fortunate than all the government and giveaway programs can ever hope to do. A successful person who has obtained his achievements through hard, honest work is usually willing to try to help others reach similar success. A person who is successful usually lives in a little better house. Many now think that this wrong, but that person probably pays several times the property taxes of someone living in a less expensive home. This will benefit everyone as this helps to educate their children and pay for many of the local services that people demand today. If they hire people to help take care of their homes or properties, they are usually paid for with after tax dollars, and this creates jobs for the people doing the work. Isn’t this sharing the wealth? Most successful people help create jobs either by expanding their own business or investing on other business. I think that in order to get people off welfare and off the government rolls, we need all the successful people that we can get in this country.
