The Eastern Lowland Grauer's gorilla (Gorilla beringei graueri) is one of four gorilla subspecies in Africa. It is endemic to the Democratic Republic of Congo and its social behaviour is not yet scientifically understood. The Kahuzi-Biega national park is one of the sites where this subspecies is conserved. Since 1973, access for tourist and educational visits has been authorised through the habituation of families, including the Chimanuka family. It is currently visited. The objectives were (i) to define the type of social behaviour of the Grauer's gorilla, (ii) to study the temporal and seasonal fluctuation of the Grauer's gorilla and (iii) to understand the rhythm of the Grauer's gorilla's activities. We used reconnaissance walks, direct observation, scanning and focal animal methods. Social behaviour is of two types: the most common behaviours and occasional behaviours.
Machining processes consume billions of dollars worldwide. It is estimated that more than 100 billion dollars are spent annually, and that this total could be reduced by 20% if the right conditions and tools were chosen. Much of the money spent on machining processes is attributable to tools and unproductive time, so improvements in machining processes can mean significant savings in the manufacture of machined parts. In order to meet the needs of companies that use ceramic tools in their machining processes, this work presented a specific path in the characterization of ceramic tools based on Silicon Nitride for structural applications, and with potential application in cast iron alloys, at a low acquisition cost, since similar tool alloys on the market have high purchase prices. This work aims to test ceramic tools based on silicon nitride (Si3N4), developed in Brazil, in the turning machining of nodular cast iron.
This paper is a case study of TV Valente, a community TV experience in the municipality of Valente in the semi-arid region of Bahia. The purpose of the study is to discuss the role played by TV during its existence and to analyze how it was managed and sustained, as well as the participation of the community in its programming. To this end, semi-structured interviews were conducted with people who worked at the TV and representatives of APAEB, the founding organization. The theoretical basis used were studies by authors who discuss civil society, community communication and its aspects in terms of management, participation and sustainability, as well as an analysis of documents and audiovisual archives to better understand its operating process. At the end of the studies, it was possible to see that TV really did have a community focus, its management was shared between APAEB and the professionals responsible for producing the programs, and the space for the population's participation was guaranteed in its programming.
However, the lack of technical guidance and ecological awareness in the exploitation of forest resources has caused irreparable damage to the environment, such as deforestation and the inadequate disposal of solid waste. In view of the major problem that waste causes to the environment, the aim of this research was to find out how to use the waste generated to assess the quality of Bowdichia virgilioides (Paricarana) seeds in the laboratory. The research was carried out at the headquarters of Embrapa Roraima, both inside and outside the company, in 2008. The methodology adopted was exploratory and descriptive, with a mixed (qualitative) and (quantitative) approach. The procedures were divided into three phases. Samples of Bowdichia virgilioides seeds from the collection of 10 trees in the month of December 2006 to January 2007 were selected at the Embrapa Roraima seed laboratory, 5 from each source, the Taiano and Bonfim regions. Two thousand seeds were used.
The aim of the book is to characterize the concepts of territorial development and endogenous development as complementary, since local development strategies would be represented by the responses of local actors to the challenges of competitiveness. Endogenous territorial development is fostered through non-agricultural activities carried out in rural areas. These are activities in the manufacturing industry, construction, trade in goods and social services. This is a phenomenon of multiple professions and diversified sources of income, resulting from the decrease in the weight of agricultural activities in the employability and income composition of people and families living in rural areas. On the other hand, endogenous territorial development can also be stimulated by strengthening farms, especially family farms, by diversifying their crops. As an option for generating direct and indirect financial gains, diversification reduces production costs, provides environmental advantages and reduces the economic impact of various crises in the rural sector.
This work is the result of research that sought to reflect on the process of methodological construction that guides the Environmental Education Programmes carried out as a requirement for granting Environmental Licensing. Immersed in a community, we can glimpse the possibilities and potential of working with Environmental Education, but also the limits and challenges from a critical theoretical and participatory methodological perspective, based on dialogue, collective action, empowerment and the transformation of reality.
The sport of beach or sand volleyball is nowadays practiced by almost all the countries of the world, which has caused a great interest in its preparation at early ages with well-defined objectives. This book consists of several pages dedicated to beginners and those who continue in the systematic practice of this sport, in order to compete at a high level in any type of competition. The purpose of this material is to provide the reader with enough knowledge related to each of the technical elements for better performance during the game and tactical manifestations that will allow them to achieve triumph after the technical-tactical effort. Different field diagrams are reflected. Different exercises for learning the technical elements and their variants or modifications to develop them are observed. The microcycles of physical, technical and tactical work are reflected for a better development of the athletes during their learning and improvement process in this sport, which is so complex due to the environment in which it is developed.

The understanding of students portrayed in surveys carried out, with the aim of portraying their understanding of school, education and the curriculum.
The El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) event is associated with the occurrence of climatic anomalies that are capable of producing major disasters; therefore, knowing its effects on a region contributes to decision-making in order to mitigate its impact on agricultural production. For this reason, the present research aims to demonstrate the impact exerted by the warm, cold and neutral phases of ENSO on potato crop production in the municipality of Güira de Melena, during the seasons from 2010 to 2018. For this, the yields obtained were analyzed taking into consideration the different phases of the ENSO event and through the behavior of the values of maximum temperature (Tmax), minimum temperature (Tmin), average temperature (Tmed), thermal amplitude (AT) and night temperature (Tnoc), precipitation (RR) and relative humidity (Hr) that influence the development of the potato crop.
In Senegal, cowpea(Vigna unguiculata) Walp. production faces numerous constraints, including the negative effects of weeds. It is therefore necessary to find solutions to these constraints, particularly weediness, in order to improve agricultural production. Proposing effective weed management methods presupposes a good knowledge of the flora, dynamics and harmfulness of the species. The general objective of this study is to contribute to a better knowledge and management of weed flora to improve agricultural production in Senegal, and more particularly in the northern zone of the groundnut basin. More specifically, the aim is to characterize cowpea weed flora through a study of the flora and vegetation; to study the dynamics of weed emergence and to assess weed competition with cowpea crops. To do this, inventories were carried out in cowpea plots, using the 'tour de champ' method for studying flora and vegetation.
The use of resources to promote an education geared towards emancipation and the construction of autonomy involves the assimilation of technologies in the classroom, in order to make education more dynamic and more accessible and attractive to the main subjects of the teaching-learning process: the students. This paper presents a reflection on the role played by Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in building the autonomy of students on the Integrated High School Technical Course in Administration at the Federal Institute of EspÃrito Santo, Venda Nova do Imigrante (Ifes-VNI). Using qualitative methodology and research techniques such as questionnaires, interviews and documentary analysis, we analysed the points of view of the student body, teachers and pedagogues regarding the emancipatory process of the school and the participation of ICTs in this system.
This work looks at the creative process of musical interpretation from a historical perspective. It outlines some aspects of this phenomenon in the 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Some characteristics and changes in musical practice over time are highlighted, based on the historical investigations of Thurston Dart, Lydia Goehr, Carl Dahlhaus, and the considerations on musical aesthetics of Enrico Fubini and Edward Lippman. This part culminates in an exposition of the thought of Igor Stravinsky, Arnold Schoenberg and Heinrich Schenker. In the second part, three currents of thought on the phenomenon are discussed: the theory of musical psychology; the theory of symbols; and phenomenology, focusing on Martin Heidegger's discourses on art and Roman Ingarden's on the identity of the musical work. In conclusion, the term interpretation and its applicability to the act of playing a musical instrument are discussed.
The increase in the incidence of fungal infections, given the small therapeutic arsenal available for their treatment, has generated a growing interest in fungi and the mycoses they cause. Paracoccidioidomycosis (PCM) is part of this context, as it is a systemic mycosis that is endemic to Latin America and most often manifests itself in immunocompetent hosts and has different clinical forms. It is not compulsorily notifiable, making it difficult to ascertain its prevalence and incidence. Therefore, this work refers to a narrative literature review, consisting of national and international publications in the field of mycology with the aim of gathering a set of information on the profile of PCM, its etiological agents, epidemiology, clinical aspects, diagnosis and therapy of the disease.
One of the main environmental problems in Brazil is the lack of basic sanitation, especially the lack of sewage disposal. This leads to water contamination and causes serious public health problems. Only 57.6% of Brazilian municipalities have a sewage collection system. This paper analyses the sewage systems used in a micro-region of the Várzea River Basin and how they affect the quality of the water used for human supply in this region.
This material looks at internal control, planning and budgeting as a form of management in Brazil and deals with the current possibilities of reconnecting these contemporary functions of the state in promoting national development, as well as complying with current legislation. Based on a reading of internal control, planning and budgeting, we need to review public management methods in the country.
The Carpina Sugarcane Experimental Station (EECAC) is located in the municipality of Carpina, Mata Setentrional, at an average altitude of 180m, 56 km from Recife (capital of the state of Pernambuco) and covers 261.9 hectares. The research carried out at EECAC is aimed at creating production methods and practices and generating new varieties of the plant through genetic improvement. In 1990, EECAC came under the control of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE), a century-old educational institution that initially focused on courses in the agricultural sciences and later diversified into other areas. It currently has more than 50 undergraduate courses and more than 30 postgraduate programs. When the Brazilian government abolished PLANALSUCAR, until then the body responsible for research into the development of sugarcane activity in the country, UFRPE absorbed both the structure and the body of researchers and technicians left over from the abolished body. EECAC's main objective is to study the genetic improvement of sugarcane, carried out through the asexual reproduction of different species.
The aim of this work is to justify the role of the Caçulo de Melo Mounted Police Regiment to the community living in the Benguà neighbourhood in the city of Belém. This paper presents the results of a research project carried out at the Centre for Environmental Sciences at the Federal University of Amazonas (CCA/UFAM). The data was provided by a company in the industrial centre of Manaus, which has taken a proactive initiative to correctly eliminate the environmental liabilities accumulated in the company's warehouses. It's a topic that has been discussed within the environmental field, particularly in relation to the Environmental Management System (EMS). Initiatives like this one by Sony improve the company's image and make it possible for its products to be better accepted on the market.
Emotions are part of our daily lives, they are the first stage of our learning, they are the first source of knowledge. Emotions and cognition are closely linked. And it is from this genesis that it will be possible to improve and enhance the daily learning that we commonly do. From this perspective, the individual will bring added value to their performance and, in turn, to the performance they desire and expect.
The research we carried out was an attempt to contribute to the production of scientific knowledge with the aim of strengthening Latin American studies. Both José Martà and Oswald de Andrade defended their own narratives, opposing the common thinking of their times, which reproduced the perspective of Eurocentric discourse. For both of them, it was necessary to think about a multidirectional discursive relationship, so that Latin America could overcome the stigma that relegated it to a subordinate place on the world stage. When we see today, in various artistic expressions, narratives about cultural affirmation, especially of groups excluded from society, in fact, what we see in such discourses takes us back to the meanings that permeated the Martian and Oswaldian narratives, which still echo across the continent and perfectly represent the continuity of the emancipatory discourse of Nuestra América and Anthropophagy. It is Latin America speaking for itself.
This book arises from the author's restlessness, as well as his academic reflection on his work in the Youth and Adult Education Programme at UFRJ, an extension project of this university, where the barriers to reading and writing were broken down, not restricted to literacy, but extended to education. The students had cultural activities in their curriculum, which were the subject of the author's interest and work.
The "Viva o Basquete" Tournament was organized by the SME (Municipal Department of Sports, Recreation and Leisure) of Porto Alegre, from 1992 to 2004. It was amateur and recreational in nature, and its aim was to educate for leisure, starting from leisure. The tournament was free and encouraged the participation of autonomous groups according to community co-management. The aim of this work was to recover the history of this Tournament, analyzing the game as sport and as leisure in a proposal for participation and co-management. The city of Porto Alegre has developed a policy of co-management and a history of using squares as community spaces, understood as moments of encounter and relationships.
The subject of this book is the conceptions of res publica and dictatorship during the transition from the Roman Republic to the Empire. In the form of a synthesis research, it covers in parallel the path of politics during the period of transition from republican government to autocratic power in Rome. It therefore considers the characteristics of the institutional body that governed the Republic, the facets of dictatorial power, and the influences of the two major figures in this transition: Julius Caesar, the dictator, and Octavian Augustus, the first emperor. From the main objective, which is based on an analysis of the Res Publica and dictatorship in the governments of Augustus and Caesar and an exposition of the consequent Roman political-constitutional transformations, come specific objectives: to describe the new situation faced by the Republic with Caesar's rise to power and the historical context; to determine how Caesar's dictatorship and the gradual centralisation of power contributed to the transformations in the political system of the time; and to characterise the changes in the conception of Res Publica with the advent of Octavian Augustus' principality.
Vascular fusariosis of the date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.) caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. albedenis (Foa). It is considered to be one of the most serious diseases, posing a permanent threat to North African palm groves, and has caused the disappearance of 20 million palm trees, including three million Algerian palm trees, since it first appeared in 1870. A collection of isolates representative of the diversity of Foa populations from symptomatic palm groves and three isolates collected from the rhizosphere were used in this work.
Brazil has had seven constitutions, one in the monarchical period (1824) and six in the republican period (1891, 1934, 1937, 1946, 1967 and 1988). A Constitution, or Magna Carta, is a set of governing rules, often codified as a written document, which lists and limits the powers and functions of a political entity. In the case of countries, the term refers specifically to a constitution that defines the fundamental policy, political principles, and establishes the structure, procedures, powers and rights, of a government. Some have been promulgated and others have been granted. Enacted constitutions are considered more democratic because they have the participation of the people, through their representatives. Granted constitutions, on the other hand, are those imposed by the government. We need to remember that our constitutions are just texts. Whether they will be mere utopias or whether they will serve as signposts for the conquest of rights and, consequently, for the construction of a fairer and more dignified society, will depend on our participation as men and women in search of true citizenship.
This work presents the need to research radio consumption, with the intention of getting to know the profile of the radio listener, and especially the listener-internet user in Alto Araguaia - MT. The study starts from the changes that have occurred since radio was first recorded in history. However, languages, production technologies and program formats have changed significantly. Today, we live with new possibilities for consumption, which is developing a new type of listener, the "internet listener", who is in contact with great diversity in the ways they listen - compared to their parents' and grandparents' generation - because they can now listen to radio content via the internet, smartphones, tablets, etc. Thus, the book takes us through the historical process of overcoming, improving and surviving radio, and introduces us to a listener with an active and participatory profile. This new configuration can be explained by the environment in which the contemporary listener is inserted. In this way, I hope to introduce you to the profile of this listener through a survey on radio consumption. I wish you a great read!
The purpose of this book is to analyse the conceptions of pedagogy students at CFP/UFCG about the supervised internship in Early Childhood Education for teacher training, and specifically to check what the expectations of pedagogy students are about the teaching profession through their experience as an intern, as well as to find out whether the supervised internship in early childhood education is seen as an isolated subject or is worked on interactively with the other subjects in the course and to identify how teachers in training deal with the relationship between theory and practice in the internship experience. The book presents a study carried out at the Federal University of Campina Grande with 06 students from the 9th period of the Pedagogy course in the city of Cajazeiras-PB.
Presented and defended on December 23, 2022 at the Institut Supérieur Pédagogique de Muhangi in Butembo in the Lettres et Sciences Humaines (LSH) section of the French-Latin Department (FLAT) by student Alpha-Justin MALIRO, this final year thesis (TFE) deals with the Poetics of the poet's portrait through the poetic art of Quintus Horatius Flaccus, known as Horace. In this Ars Poetica alias Epistula ad Pisonnes, Alpha Justin identifies the qualities the poet must possess, the faults he must overlook and the alternative that awaits him.
