Arizona along with my four brothers and sister. I spent afternoons sitting under a mulberry tree reading children's books a breeze and the smell of peach blossoms permeated the air. We had cows, horses, chickens, and a beloved pet crow named Qwi Qwi. An environment that would foster imaginations for a future children's book. I went to Catholic schools taught by nuns that were thorough in discipline yet merciful. I am currently an R.N. "A Long Night for Mr. Dennis" is a true story that occurred one July 4 several years ago. Many animals and people for that matter are frightened by the loud sounds that fireworks make. Mr. Dennis was one of them. He was let outside and disappeared into the night almost immediately. Family and friends were visiting and helped look for him for many hours. I am unsure what animals he actually met up with during the night except for a skunk as he had an odor for sure! Other animals mentioned however are common in Ticonderoga so they were included in the story. Coyotes and other predators are especially common in this area so we were all quite concerned for Mr. Dennis out on his own. We started a message chain on his disappearance in the neighborhood and were so happy and thankful he was found and returned to us! Nancy Carlson grew up in a family that loved animals. Her father, Frank, was especially influential in sharing his curiosity and knowledge regarding animals of all kinds. He was an avid fisherman so naturally our summer vacations were spent near a lake and along the Long Island Sound. My brother Jeff and I would accompany him while fishing, crabbing, exploring the shorelines, etc. Our summer toys consisted of a seining net, fishing pole, drop line, shovel and pails, and beginner identification books. Nancy earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology then taught Environmental Education for 30 years.

The novel plays out in three historic frames: 1919 Bavaria, Germany; Second World War France; France in 1960. The main character, Yann, is a French journalist, professor, and Camus scholar who is plagued by a lifetime of regrets. He finds hope in an unforeseen friendship with Klaus, the only son of Karl, a German soldier who saved Yann's life in 1919. Klaus is a depressed young man burdened by history and challenged by the stories that he encourages Yann to revisit and to share. In Southern France during World War II Yann again meets Karl and also Madeleine, a French engineer and Resistance fighter who attempts to recruit Yann to join the Resistance. Yann's hesitation eventually leads to Madeleine's death, and this will haunt Yann ever after. Karl's first novel, Clipperton, was published in 2006 by the now-defunct Harbor House Books of Augusta, Georgia. Over the years, Karl's short stories have been published by local and regional journals such as The Loyalhanna Review. Karl was born in Munich and immigrated to the United States in 1970. This novel was influenced by his upbringing after World War II and the disastrous role his native country played in the 20th century. Karl has been working all his life as a general pediatrician.

My book summary is about what's going on in the world today to let my youth know how things are going in the world today and what's happening in this world today and what to except from this world today and to be aware what is going to happen in the next generation of the world soon one day before they see it coming their way. Please do not waste any of their time on earth and treat people that you know with respect because we do not know when it's our last to the youth and all age groups in world today and we might need someone to whole our hand and be by our side and our memory to live on when we all are gone. Tomorrow is not a promise, yesterday is gone and every hour or second or minute is not either. This is too cold to live today. To all ages please be aware when you are wrong and stand up to your mistakes because once you make them you can't turn back the hands of time. Because you only get one life to live on earth in this world for old time sake. I was born with cerebral palsy from drugs used when I was still in my mothers stomach. The doctors said I wasn't going to make it so my grandmother took me back and forth too far in the country on the train to the hospital for surgery on my back both knees and legs. I was spilt from my back all the way down my whole body. I had tubes all inside of my body just laying in the bed in the hospital. The nurses and case workers said if I would have made it I would have been a vegetable that would not be able to hear talk walk. I wouldn't be able to do anything for myself at all today. I was born blind and deaf I got my eye sight and hearing back at the age of 9 months. At the age of 9 months I had heart failure. I had a big seizure at the first minute of birth. I was age five when I just started to talk. I was age 10 when I started eating table food, first eating out of a food blender and I was in diapers and pacifiers since age two. other learning activities. I would only go past a third grade level of learning.

My PTSD raise its ugly head on many occasions especially with authoritative figures, mostly showing up with anger issues getting in the way. I didn't know there was a name for it until 1992 when I went to the Wall in Washington DC and visited the Vietnam Memorial on November 11. Veteran's Day. I wrote poetry early on but didn't really start writing about trauma until my first flashback in 1986 sixteen years after Vietnam. Blood Brothers was the first related to the Nam the guilt of a survivor I guest. So, the book is a deep journey into my life and that of many veterans unable to speak about the horrors of war and it effects on their life. You can't really write about this stuff unless you lived it. I was diagnosed with PTSD in March 2003 when they bomb Bagdad and brought the horrors of war back to reality. I think this is a must read for my brothers who need help to explain their trauma of this terrible war and how we were denied are honor upon are return home. It also is a read for family, sons and daughters to understand their fathers and grandfathers war experiences.This is my story my journey about living with and surviving for many years with PTSD So rather than write the words without the tears I choose to put them in poetry. I am a Vietnam Veteran I was station in South Vietnam from Oct, 1968 TO Oct. 1969. I was a Door gunner on a UH-1H Huey Troop Transport. I flew with the First Cavalry Division A229th Assault Helicopter Battalion Black Bandits on Tay Ninh South Vietnam III Corp.I was in the Army for three years got out in June of 71, was diagnose with PTSD in 2003.
