"I am an American, who married a Guyanese man, and we both have dual nationality. My husband is the Ambassador of Guyana to Kuwait. This is an uplifting true story about our three-year escapes as we discover we have a kindred spirit with the people and country of Kuwait. Mainstream media broadcasts scary things happening in the Middle East. While real, it does not reflect life in the whole region. Kuwait is a peaceful, blissful country. Kuwait has stable leadership, prosperous citizens, wholesome values, women are free to make choices, and they take red carpet hospitality to the highest level. Many Kuwaitis attend universities, enjoy vacations, and visit relatives in America, the United Kingdom, Europe, and Canada. It is possible that you interacted with some Kuwaitis without knowing their nationality. Having familiarity with their country and customs will strengthen the friendship between our countries. For Guyana and other countries' governments that have been beneficiaries of Kuwait's financial assistance, we express our "Thanks and Appreciation." Their assistance aims to make the world a better. For the USA, UK, & Allied Forces that supported Kuwait during its 1990-1991 hardship, Ambassador Dr. Shamir Ally and I express our profound gratitude as expats.
