Three days have passed since Marie Michaels took her last breath. Knowing her parting words will remain unheard, she steps before her son, daughter, and husband to say her final farewell. Accompanied by her spirit guide, she steps into the blessed beam of light at the head of her casket to leave the physical world and cross over into the unknown.
Grieving over the loss of her mother, Elizabeth Michaels tries to fill her matriarch's role in caring for the house and family. Unable to depend on her mother's advice, she must achieve the milestones of her senior year of high school, move forward with her college plans, and avoid the pitfalls of falling in love.
