Bag om Herencia
Herencia: Novela Peruana (1895) is a Peruvian novel written by Clorinda Matto de Turner. The story revolves around a wealthy Peruvian family, the Villarreales, who are torn apart by greed and jealousy. The patriarch of the family, Don Fermn, has two sons, Manuel and Luis, who are both vying for control of the family fortune. Manuel is the older, more responsible son, while Luis is the younger, more impulsive one. When Don Fermn dies, the family is left with a large inheritance, which causes tensions to rise even further. Manuel and Luis both try to manipulate the situation to their advantage, leading to betrayal and tragedy. Alongside the family drama, the novel also explores themes of class, race, and gender in Peruvian society at the turn of the 20th century. Herencia is considered a classic of Peruvian literature and an important work in the canon of Latin American literature. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
